REVIEW – PARK AVENUE PLAYER by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

SYNOPSIS

It started out like any normal day.

Then the fender bender happened.

The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth.

Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway—one I was excited about.

Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Whoops!

Yeah, so I didn’t get the position.

The problem was, I really wanted it. No, I needed it. Anything to get me out of my current career and back into working with kids.

So, even though Hollis LaCroix was as intimidating as he was devastatingly handsome, I went back to see him and begged for a chance.

To my surprise, he gave me a shot taking care of his troubled niece.

At least my attraction to him wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. I wasn’t about to jeopardize my job or the strong bond Hailey and I formed.

But resisting the magnetic pull between us wasn’t that simple. (Then there was our little underwear game—don’t ask.)

We continued to flirt without crossing the line—until it finally happened.

This is the part of the story where we fall in love and live happily ever after, right?

Well, life has a way of throwing some major curveballs.

Ours was one I didn’t see coming.

”There are some people who come into our lives and take a little piece of our hearts when they go. So they’ll always have that love with them. But the heart is resilient and will eventually heal itself. Though the new heart isn’t the same as the old heart, and that’s why we never love two people the same way.”

I always love reading the collaborative works of Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. These two have written some of my most favorite romances. There are some I consider to be better than others and ”PARK AVENUE PLAYER” is up there with some of their best works. I can honestly say there wasn’t anything that I didn’t love about Hollis and Elodie’s love story. I laughed quite a bit and even shed a few tears. Get ready to go on a roller coaster ride filled with raw emotions. The plot twist made for some gut-wrenching angst. This book was everything and more! I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I have!

I’m not going to say much else because in no way do I want to spoil this for anyone. The book releases on September 23rd. Readers are in for a real treat!!

Every part of her felt warm and glowing. She’d thought the light inside her had gone out long ago. How crazy and wonderful that he had made it burn so brightly—a captivating stranger she would never see again.

I have such a good feeling about the ”Bliss Cove” series, after having finished the first installment. Nina Lindsey is an author I have loved for quite a while now. It’s her new pen name. To be honest, I’m not sure why she chose to go by another name but I’m glad that at least she hasn’t given up writing. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t read by her. Her Heroes are every woman’s ultimate fantasy. I don’t know how she does it but she’s made me fall in love with all of them!! Hunter Armstrong is sure to melt the hearts of many readers, and Aria Prescott was a lovable and endearing Heroine. There isn’t anything that I didn’t love about this story. It had awesome characters, an engaging plot, and a Hero and Heroine with out of this world chemistry. This story had it all, including some adorable cats looking for their forever homes.

Aria is the baby of the family. She’s known for being flighty and never seeing anything through to completion. She’s back home in Bliss Cove after having left for several months and she’s determined to make a success of her business, the ”Meow and Then Cat Cafe”, that she’s opened up in the historical district on Mariposa Street. One half of it is a café where she offers refreshments, sandwiches, and pastries. The other half of the establishment is a cozy space that she customized for cats to inhabit, and her customers are free to sit and spend time with the cute felines. She keeps up to 15 homeless cats at a time and advertises their adoption information on her website. Aria is a very intelligent and caring young woman who is passionate about her business and about preserving the historic district of Bliss Cove.

She meets a sexy as hell stranger one night when one of her cats escapes and he helps her find the naughty kitty. Crazy sparks fly between them but during their encounter, they failed to exchange names. Aria decides to file her time with the stranger away as a fond and sexy memory. She never expected Hunter to walk in her café the next day, dressed in an Armani suit, holding a contract offering to buy her business. The man that had her pulse racing turns out to be her worst enemy.

Trying to remain indifferent to the man who has been the star of her late-night fantasies proves harder than Aria thought it would be. Soon the two decide to put their differences aside and become friends but friendship is not going to cut it for Hunter and Aria. How can these two make things work when their goals are in direct opposition of each other? Will Aria give up her fight to save Mariposa Street? Or will Hunter walk away from his shot at becoming CEO of Imperial Properties?

REVIEW – THE DUGOUT by Meghan Quinn

SYNOPSIS

Let me ask you a question:

If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?

Word around campus is . . . it was no accident.

That injury has cost me everything; my starting position, my junior year—and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety, girl with freckles, in the dining hall.

They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, The Diamond Wizard, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She’s the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.

One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth — Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again — no matter how good my forearms look.

Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.

*****Patty’s Review*****

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

Milly’s interesting, different, and possibly dangerous to my heart. I can feel it deep down. She was brought into my life for a reason and not just to help my swing, but something so much more than that.

If you’re looking for your next fun and sexy five star read, then ”THE DUGOUT” is the book for you. I love a good sports romance/romantic comedy, with just the perfect dose of angst to put me through a little emotional torture as well. Not only did this book have all my favorite elements it also had the perfect charismatic Hero and a truly loveable Heroine. This is a book that you will get so completely lost in that you won’t even notice the time that has passed while reading it.

Carson Stone was one of the hottest second basemen in the world of college baseball. In his junior year, he was on the fast track to being the #1 MLB draft pick, but then an injury to his Achilles tendon put his dreams of the major league on hold. A year later, his injury has healed but his batting performance has become less than stellar. Carson is in desperate need of some help. He never would have imagined the tiny college coed with the cute freckles and nervous stutter would be his ultimate coach.

Milly Potter grew up in a family that breathes, sleeps and eats baseball. Her father and three older brothers all played the sport and her oldest brother is one of the hottest stars in Major League Baseball. Milly has a part-time job as an athletic trainer for Brentwood University’s golf team and also coaches little league in her spare time. She goes to every Brentwood University baseball game and spends that time taking videos of the players’ performance so that she can study their moves and determine where improvements are needed. She knows exactly what Carson’s problem is and when she successfully shows him where he’s making his mistakes, he is completely shocked and impressed. Milly helps Carson improve his game and soon he’s back to being one of the #1 MLB draft picks.

Carson is incredibly drawn to Milly but has a hard time reading her, and Milly is equally attracted to Carson but is convinced he’s placed her in the friend-zone. Once their romance takes off, and life couldn’t be any more idyllic for the two, Carson and Milly’s relationship is put through the ultimate test and the most awful angst ensues for what seemed to be an eternity for me. Will their love survive?

REVIEW – LOVE ON LEXINGTON AVENUE (The Central Park Pact, #2) by Lauren Layne

SYNOPSIS

From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne comes the second delightfully charming installment in the Central Park Pact series, following a young widow whose newfound cynicism about love is challenged by a sexy, rough-around-the-edges contractor.

There’s never a bad time to fall in love in the city, right? Wrong. According to the recently-widowed Claire Hayes, it’s very, verywrong. In fact, after finding out her late husband was a liar and a cheat, Claire’s convinced there’s never a good time for romantic notions. Determined to rid her home of anything that reminds her of her philandering husband, Claire sets out to redesign her entire Upper East Side brownstone and make it her own. But when she meets gruff and often-cantankerous contractor Scott Turner and realizes not all men are scumbags, Claire must decide if she’s ready to risk her heart again.

Scott needs a change of pace from the corporate offices and swanky hotels he’s been building lately, and bluntly makes it clear to Claire that he only took on her house for that reason, adding that he has no patience for a pampered, damaged princess on his job site. But when long work days soon turn into even longer nights, their mutual wariness morphs into something more complicated—a grudging respect, and maybe even attraction…? Scott knows he’s not one to settle down, but then why can’t he bring himself to put the finishing touches on Claire’s house and move on to the next job?

Filled with laugh-out-loud scenes that blend perfectly with the touching friendships Layne brings to life on the page, this “hugely entertaining” (USA TODAY) novel is perfect for fans of Lauren Weisberger.

*****Patty’s Review*****

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

Something about Scott had wiggled beneath her defenses, slipped beneath the jaded cynicism that had been so firmly in place since Brayden died. She desperately wanted to believe that she’d be able to separate sex and emotion, but she was no longer certain she could. Not with him.

The women who formed the ”Central Park Pact” are back and now it’s the scorned widow who gets her chance at true love. Claire Hayes is cultured, refined and very reserved. Her dead husband’s betrayal affected her deeply. She may have met two women who became her dearest friends but her heart and self-confidence suffered tremendously. Claire no longer believes in true love, but she can’t deny that she has physical needs that a one-night stand might relieve. She’s never had sex without it turning into a long term relationship and it’s been a while since she’s been out in the dating scene. Claire enlists the help of her reluctant contractor.

Scott Turner is everything that Claire never considered to be her type. He’s a blue-collar, flannel shirt wearing, rude and sometimes abrasive man, but she also can’t seem to stop her growing attraction to him.

The sexual tension builds between them until they can no longer fight it. They agree to a no-strings-attached, friends with benefits arrangement when deep down they’ve already started to form intense feelings for each other. Will the Central Park Princess finally find her Prince Charming??

I love a good “opposites attract’ romance, especially when it’s between a city girl and a rough around the edges alpha male. Claire and Scott had great chemistry. While the story started rather slow, it ended up being thoroughly entertaining. I am looking forward to the third and final installment!

REVIEW – BEARD WITH ME (Winston Brothers, #6) by Penny Reid

SYNOPSIS

‘Beard With Me’ is the origin story of Billy Winston and Scarlet St. Claire (aka Claire McClure) and is just the beginning of their epic love story.

No one is better at surviving than Scarlet St. Claire and making the best out of circumstances beyond her control is Scarlet’s specialty. In an apocalyptic situation, she’d be the last person on earth, hermitting like a pro, singing along to her CD Walkman, and dancing like no one is watching.

Scarlet is clever, Scarlet is careful, and Scarlet is smart . . . except when it comes to Billy Winston.

No one is better at fighting than Billy Winston and raging against his circumstances—because nothing is beyond his control—is Billy’s specialty. In an apocalyptic situation, he’d be the first person on earth to lead others to safety, overcome catastrophe, or die trying.

Billy is fearless, Billy is disciplined, and Billy is honorable . . . except when it comes to Scarlet St. Claire.

FIVE ++++++++ FAVORITE STARS

I’ve probably said this next statement before in another Winston Brothers book review, but I’ll say it again; these characters feel like family to me. Reading about their stories, their pasts, present and future is so exciting to me. Penny has engraved every single Winston Brother’s name in my heart.

This particular book is very, very special, only because it’s about Billy. For years we have been reading about the always quiet, and always serious Billy. He was like a complicated math equation we couldn’t quite get. There are so many layers to Billy Winston, and discovering, and learning about his personality, his struggles and his heartbreak was simply marvelous, and one of my favorites stories up to date. Billy feels every emotion with such intensity, and his loyalty knows no bounds, for years he’s put others ahead of himself, so beautiful and selfless. I simply adore him.

Now let’s talk about Scarlet St. Claire…
She is the perfect leading lady for my Billy. If I had to share him with another woman, it would be her. She is the daughter of Razor the president of the town’s hated motorcycle club. Scarlet has grown up not knowing any love, or kindness from her family. She walks around life with her head down, trying to fly under the radar. But Billy had no choice but to notice her, her beautiful voice was the music calling to his heart, and together they make beautiful music that will bring tears to your eyes. Music that will become like oxygen to their lungs.

In Beard With Me we learn about the truth from their past, and the reasons why both Scarlet and Billy have lost the light behind their eyes…

This was truly a beautiful and heartbreaking story. But it wasn’t all sad and angsty, Cletus is very present in this novel, and if you have been following these books you know that wherever there’s Cletus, there are tons of laughs. I know a lot of people are nervous to read this book, or they are waiting to read it until the next book is out, but there is no reason to be scared, penny wrote this book beautifully, and even though it has a very intense plot that might have triggers for some, in the end it’s also hopeful and so special. I’ve already read it twice because I wanted to re-live every moment. And of course I can’t wait to read the next book, and the next, and the next ….

*****FIVE +++++++ STARS*****

If the soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts, then my soul was Scarlet.

Wow!! I wasn’t expecting this one to be so heartbreaking and where has Billy Winston been all my life?!! I want the next book, like YESTERDAY!!! How are we supposed to wait till November?! Up until now, Cletus had been my favorite Winston brother, but now I’m having a hard time choosing between him and Billy. I think that this is going to be the dilemma of many fans of this series. ”BEARD WITH ME” is another exceptional installment to such an amazing series. I am so in love with Penny Reid’s talents as an author. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Billy is second oldest out of the seven Winston siblings and he is every bit the older brother to be looked up to and adored. Star quarterback on the high school football team. Serious about his schoolwork because he has plans of going off to college on a full scholarship. But most of all, he loves his family something fierce and does everything he can to help his mom take care of all his younger brothers and sister. He does it effortlessly and without a single complaint.

Scarlet St. Claire is a beautiful young girl with the voice of an angel and soul to match. Her parents are lowest of the low and capable of true evil, and luckily they did not influence the way she turned out or maybe they inspired her to be the exact opposite of them. Scarlet’s dad is the President of the local outlaw MC, the Wraiths. He is a despicable man who is capable of horrific cruelty. Scarlet left her father’s compound and has been living out in the woods on the Winston’s property. Getting by with food she receives at school and other necessities from the goodwill. As long as she’s not accepting handouts from anyone, her father leaves her alone, for a while anyway. Despite her circumstances, she still finds the joy in life in the smallest of things. Her little portable cd player and music provide her an escape from her worries. When Billy hears her singing and finds her camped out on his land, something stirs in his heart. He becomes mesmerized and has a burning need to care for Scarlet and to keep her safe.

The relationship between these two grows through their shared appreciation of music. Although they fall deeply in love with each other, they must keep it a secret or else suffer the wrath of Scarlet’s diabolical father and his men. So many secrets swirl around these two and their families. Secrets if revealed, have the power to destroy their love.

Billy and Cletus make the ultimate sacrifice to keep some innocent people safe. Now their hearts are shattered. How does this epic love story conclude? We will hopefully find out in ”Beard Necessities”.

REVIEW – THE UNCERTAIN SCIENTIST (The Lost Planet, #4) by K. Webster & Nicole Blanchard

SYNOPSIS

I had everything I ever wanted.
I was brilliant, successful, esteemed.
Alone.
But I didn’t mind. I liked being alone.

Until they stole me.

And I wake up, captive, pregnant with an alien baby—and still a virgin.

For a race of freaks nearing extinction, there seems to be far, far too many of them.

Everywhere I turn, one of the morts or their human mates wants to comfort me, make me feel welcome and safe. But I don’t want to feel welcome or safe. I want the life they stole from me.

None of them pay any heed to my angry tirades, least of all the father of the child I carry. There’s no doubt he wants the baby, but that isn’t all he wants.

In fact, I’m beginning to think if some of the morts had their way I’d never be alone again.

I’ve never seen creatures like them before, but as a scientist, I’ve seen too many awe-inspiring things to discount them as figments of my imagination.

The fourth human female to be awakened from her slumber from within her cryogenic tube is ”The Uncertain Scientist”. Grace is none too happy to find herself in the company of ghoulish looking monsters and that she has somehow become pregnant seeing as she is a virgin. She is the only female that was successfully impregnated through artificial insemination. The lucky father is Sayer, who has been carrying on a secret love affair with fellow Mort, Jareth. The two have been able to keep their relationship a secret for years. It’s forbidden for two male morts to mate. This situation is far beyond ideal and complicated, but in the end, it was the hottest installment yet!

Grace has always been a loner. She grew up an orphan and later on in life she fought hard to get an education and became a scientist. She threw herself into her work and never bothered to form any personal relationships. Grace finds it hard to let people in but somehow Molly is able to break through her walls and soon the same happens with Sayer and Jareth. Her pregnancy hormones have her inexplicably drawn to Sayer. She needs his touch and to Jareth’s despair, Sayer is reciprocating those feelings. Sayer is torn between his need to be with his baby momma and his love and faithfulness to his Jareth. Jareth sees the torment the two are going through and helps them come together, but soon it becomes a very sexy threesome. Grace believes she is an outsider in the relationship even though the two Morts try their hardest to express their feelings for her.

REVIEW – FINDING STORM (The Storm, #4) by Samantha Towle

SYNOPSIS

The son of an icon.

He was a legend. Rock royalty.

A man I never met.

But I’m measured against him in every aspect of my life.

The only time I feel like me … the real me … is when I’m onstage with my band. But the more we grow in popularity, the more people compare me to him.

I’m not him. And I never will be. If only everyone could figure that out for themselves.

I need a break from it all.

Then, a confrontation has me jumping in my car, putting LA in my rearview mirror. And a stupid mistake ends up with my car on the side of the road. And straight into the path of a girl who is the exact opposite of everyone else in my life.

She’s like everything I used to know.

And she has no clue who I am.

Even if she did, I don’t think she’d care.

She thinks I’m cavalier.

I think she’s intriguing. And hot. Let’s not forget hot.

I’m stuck in this town overnight while my car is being fixed. But I’m thinking I’m gonna stick around a bit longer.

I’m Storm Slater, lead guitarist in Slater Raze and the only child of the late, great Jonny Creed. But, here, right now … I’m nobody. Just a regular guy.

I’m liking it a whole lot.

And I’m liking her even more.

My hands are in her hair. Then, down to her back. Going lower, grasping her thighs as I urge her to wrap her legs around me so I can her even closer. Even though I don’t think I’ll ever get close enough to Stevie. I want to be inside of her in every way that matters. Inside of her the way she’s inside me. She’s under my skin.

To say I was over the moon excited when I heard Samantha Towle was writing another installment in ”The Storm” series is an understatement. Jake and Tru will always have a special place in my heart, and now another couple in the series has won my affections as well. I hope that readers are going to adore Storm and Stevie almost as much as I do!! Their story gave me all the feels! I’ve still got those butterflies as I replay their story in my head!!

Storm Slater is the long-lost son of the late Jonny Creed—guitarist of TMS. He’s the lead guitarist in his band, Slater Raze. Always living in the shadow of his deceased famous father. When the story starts, Storm is everything you’d expect a self-indulgent bad boy rock & roll God to be. I was not finding him to be the least bit appealing, but then he’s dealt a heartbreaking blow when a long-kept secret is revealed. Feeling lost and betrayed, he gets in his car and drives without a destination in mind, just to get away from the people who hurt him the most. His car ends up breaking down in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It is in this beautiful vacation town that he meets the utterly beguiling and vivacious Stevie Cavalli. Her father owns the local auto repair shop and she co-runs the family B&B with her gran. From the moment she enters the story I was smitten. This twenty-four-year-old girl who has an adorable obsession with 80s music and movies and abhors littering had instantly become one of my top favorite heroines created by Samantha Towle.

Stevie casts an instant spell over Storm. Since she only listens to 80s music, she has no idea who Storm is. She is a breath of fresh air to him. He’s loving the freedom he feels whenever he’s with Stevie. This love bubble that they find themselves in has an impending expiration date. Los Angeles is Storm’s home and he has obligations to his band and record label. Lake Havasu is where Stevie’s family lives and there’s no way she can leave. Will Storm be able to let go of the one woman who has brought him more happiness than he’s ever experienced in his entire life?

REVIEW – JOCK ROAD (Jock Hard, #3) by Sara Ney

SYNOPSIS

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr’s three mantras . His entire life, he’s been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro’s. No girls. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Repeat.

Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.

Charlie has no time for Jackson’s antics. Not when he’s stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she’s ever going to have a boyfriend, she’d choose one who isn’t a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

I kiss his majestic nose again. Again. Loving every second of it, cherishing this moment, hoping to remember it forever, no matter what ends up happening with us. We may not have a happily ever after—only time will tell—but we’re happy now, and I want to touch his soul—and his body

The ”Jock Hard” series is my favorite of Sara Ney’s works. In ”JOCK ROAD” our alpha male Hero is Iowa States’ famous wide receiver, Jackson Jennings, aka ”Triple J”. He’s a hulking specimen of a man but with the innocence of a prepubescent young boy. He’s a Hero readers will find it hard not to fall in love with. Charlotte, aka ”Charlie”, Edmonds, our Heroine, is a spitfire who is not at all threatened by Jackson’s size or in awe of his status of being the next #1 NFL draft pick. These two get off to a very rocky start but their journey is filled with a lot of laughs and equal amounts of heartfelt moments.

Since a very young age, Jackson’s father has ingrained in his head that football is his life. There is room for nothing else, especially women. At twenty-two, he’s never once defied his father and that is why he avoids temptation by spending his Friday nights cruising down Main Street for fun. Little did he know that his tailgating and his truck’s offensive high beams would introduce him to the woman who would have him questioning whether there was more to life than just football.

Jackson is a walking contradiction that becomes a refreshing surprise to Charlie. It’s on their first date that she realizes that he’s out of his element and just as insecure as she is. She knows that if she doesn’t keep her defenses up, that she’ll be heading towards inevitable heartbreak. After just one kiss, Jackson is completely smitten and realizes he’s never felt what it was like to truly live until Charlotte walked into his life. Can he have the girl plus a career in the NFL?

REVIEW – HANDLE WITH CARE (Shacking Up, #5) by Helena Hunting

SYNOPSIS

HE WANTS TO LOSE CONTROL.
Between his parents’ messed up marriage and his narcissistic younger brother, Lincoln Moorehead has spent the majority of his life avoiding his family. After the death of his father, Lincoln finds himself in the middle of the drama. To top it all off, he’s been named CEO of Moorehead Media, much to his brother’s chagrin. But Lincoln’s bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman

SHE’S TRYING TO HOLD IT TOGETHER.
Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she’s presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she’s that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn’t expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn’t expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she’s forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

”It’s always been real, Wren. This is you and me choosing to acknowledge it and own it. Now we see where it goes from here.”

There is no denying why Helena Hunting is a New York Times best-selling author! She is one of the few writers that can consistently deliver when it comes to chart-topping hits. The Shacking Up series instantly became one of my favorites by this amazing author. The banter between Lincoln and Wren had me laughing out loud often and their chemistry was sizzling hot. I loved how they were very much equals and that Wren was a tough as nails Heroine. I found myself breezing through this one. There was never a lull during the progression of the plot, which I was grateful for. I’m not a fan of the “slow burn”. While there wasn’t a lot of drama being created between Linc and Wren, there’s a mystery that comes to the surface which will keep readers guessing.

We meet a new character which I’m hoping means that we’ll get at least one more book because I’m not ready to say goodbye to this series yet.

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4.5
Angst: 4
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

REVIEW – THAT FOREVER GIRL (Getting Lucky, #2) by Meghan Quinn

SYNOPSIS

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn’s second book in the Getting Lucky series brings heart, humor, and heat back to Port Snow.

There are two little words every small-town man dreads:

She’s back.

Harper Sanders, the girl who was supposed to be my forever, has returned to Port Snow, Maine, for good—and she’s bringing back memories of our shared past.

We once had a bright future together, but when tragedy struck, I threw it all away and pushed her out of my life. People in our small town think I’m cursed, but I know better. I did it all to myself.

And now she’s creating a life of her own in the place where we first fell in love. I can’t fight my feelings for her—or the strong attraction that keeps pulling us together. But after all this time, can she forgive the past and fall in love with me all over again?

Everyone hopes to find that forever girl…I just hope I haven’t lost mine for good.

Lips pressed together, eyes welling up with tears, I hold back the flood of emotions that wants to spill over. This right here, this is the man I knew and loved so many years ago. He’s the one who captured my heart, the one who held it close and protected it with everything he had.

Meghan Quinn fans are sure to fall in love with this second installment of the ”Getting Lucky” series. I am not at all surprised at just how fantastic ”THAT FOREVER GIRL”ended up being, and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the remaining Knightly brothers. If ”friends-to-lovers”, “enemies-to-lovers” and “second-chance-romance” are some of your favorite tropes as they are mine, then you are in for a real treat with Rogan and Harper’s story!

Rogue is the second oldest and hottest Knightly brother, but he’s also known as the broody and closed-off Knightly. He once had everything in the palm of his hands and on one fateful night, he lost it all. Seven years later, the woman who had his heart since he was a young boy has come back to Port Snow and no matter how hard he tries to fight his feelings, fate and true love have other plans in store for Rogue and Harper. Rogan tore Harper’s heart to shreds and caused her to lose confidence in herself. Will she be able to let go of the pain from the past to move on to the possibility of an even greater love with the only man who’s ever truly owned her heart?

I can’t even begin to express just how much I loved Rogan and Harper’s journey. Their story is told through alternating POV’s, switching from past to present every other chapter, but it’s written so fluidly that I found the plot development to be flawless. This is a book you will find too good to put down! I am so ready to get my hands on the next installment!! This is going down as yet another one of my top favorite series by this incredibly talented author!
