Everything about him haunted her. Jersey wondered how much of herself she would have to surrender to make her world right. So she let her conscience work that out while she kissed him. The kiss. It always felt right. The only kiss that had ever felt right. His touch felt familiar. A-million-lifetimes-ago familiar. They were the perfect kind of wrong.

 

 

Now, this is why I love Jewel E. Ann’s writing so much! Her stories are always amazing and so unlike any others, I have read before. She kills me softly every time with her gut-wrenchingly angsty stories. I didn’t know what to make of this one in the beginning but as soon as the plot started to slowly unravel, I was on pins and needles waiting to get the answers to all of my burning questions. All that I knew for certain was that everything was not all as it seemed.

Ian Cooper, the rock star, had my heart from the beginning but I can’t say the same for the Heroine, Jersey. She was a little too rough around the edges and aggressive. Her childhood was a living nightmare and she had good reasons to be messed up in the head but I never really warmed up to her. It was the plot and the Hero that made this book a solid five star read for me.

 

 

 

I think it’s best to know as little as possible when diving into this one. While I figured just a tiny bit of the puzzle out from the beginning, there was so much more to the story that I didn’t see coming. I’m so in awe of this author’s talent. I have read every single one of her books and can truly say that she is one of the most gifted writers out there right now.
