All I knew was in this moment, I felt whole again. This girl filled something up in me I didn’t understand; something I never thought possible and something I didn’t realize was necessary for me to thrive, but there it was.

This book completely took me by surprise and I mean that in the most fabulous way possible! I had heard great things about some of Adriane Leigh’s works but I never had the pleasure of reading anything by her and I am so happy that I got the chance to review this amazing book. It turns out this isn’t a new story by the author. She combined her books The Mourning After and Light In The Morning, which were published back in 2013, threw in a few extra scenes and re-titled this standalone as Sweet Alibi. I will be honest, the first 20% dragged for me and let me tell you this book is seriously long because remember she combined two books into one. I didn’t like the Heroine and I wasn’t sure what was all so special about the Hero either, except for the fact that he was devastatingly gorgeous. But my total outlook and interest in the story changed at that first kiss right around the 20% mark. From then on, all bets were off and I was reeled in, hook, line, and sinker!!

I am a reader who loves angst. The more gut-wrenching, the better!! I felt torn up so many times during this story, I must say that if I didn’t buddy read this, I would have needed a stiff drink or two!! So the author had this reader eating out of the palm of her hand!! There is a love triangle and of course that means there is cheating as well. For me, as in most stories with this trope, I always have my guy picked out, so there was never any question in my mind as to which guy should end up with the girl, and I didn’t feel the least bit bad for the guy who loses her. I am not one to shy away from love triangles, but if this is not your cuppa, I don’t think you will enjoy the book although I do have to say I think you’re missing out by not picking this one up.

Georgia Montgomery has just bought a beautiful summer beach home in North Carolina. She and her two best friends will be spending the entire summer there fixing it up so that she can turn it into a rental property. She leaves her boyfriend behind back in D.C. because he’s a lawyer with a ridiculous work schedule that doesn’t allow him to take a vacation. It’s obvious that something is haunting Georgia and that part of the reason that she chose to spend the summer in North Carolina has to do with her relationship with her boyfriend.

Her bestie ends up bringing along her new boyfriend and his friend, Tristan, who is beyond gorgeous. This guy is known as a player and basically has women falling all over him wherever he goes. When Georgia and Tristan meet, there is something sparking between them and things may start off platonic but will spiral out of control when the two give in to their desires. That first kiss just about knocked me out and I was rooting for these two from that moment on. So much of what transpires between Tristan and Georgia reminded me of THOUGHTLESS, which happens to still be one of my all-time favorite books. I found myself comparing a lot of the scenes, but still this story had many elements that made it unique as well.

Georgia was a heroine that was hard for me to warm up to. It took quite a while actually. I hated her every time she messed with Tristan’s head and heart. She definitely needed a serious ass kicking! I just couldn’t understand why she was so dense. I get that she knew about Tristan’s past with women and was afraid he’d end up hurting her, but it was so obvious who the right guy was for her!!

I have to warn you that Tristan is going to steal your hearts ladies!! He has that charisma that will sweep you off your feet and my god, how he loved Georgia!! It seriously made my heart ache for him. And he is INSATIABLE!! This guy will melt your panties with very little effort. Fanning myself just thinking about him!!

This story will keep you on your toes. Never assume all is well because the author throws in twists that make your stomach drop and question how Tristan and Georgia will ever have an HEA by the time you get to the end.

SWEET ALIBIis available now! I thoroughly enjoyed it and give it my highest recommendation!! To those of you who have a strong heart and love for painful angst, this book is definitely one to put on your soon to read list!!

As much as she tries to fight it she can’t stop this pull between them and the electricity that explodes every time they touch. There is something unique and special between them, but she’s afraid of these feelings & scared to throw away what she has & take a gamble on Tristan. Tristan just wants her to give them a real chance. He’s fallen hard for her & never felt this way before.

This book is full of angst. Like as much angst as Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens, but omg I couldn’t put it down. This book completely consumed me. It’s one of the best I’ve read this year! It’s a love triangle, & Georgia faces many obstacles & tough choices. She has to choose between her old love & her new love & decide which one will be her future. This book is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend it!

-It felt like he’d unlocked a new and previously undiscovered piece of my heart.

-I craved her love, I craved her mind, I craved everything about her.

-“I feel you everywhere. When you’re not around I feel you. I need you. I fucking need you so much.”

When I heard that there was going to be a fifth book in theSpiral of Bliss series, I was excited but wondered where Nina Lane could take Dean and Liv West since their story seemed to end perfectly in ADORE. I wasn’t complaining because to be able to spend more time with Professor West is definitely like getting an extra special Christmas present!! I just wasn’t prepared to have my heart literally ripped to shreds by this story. During the first half of the book, I was wishing Nina Lane didn’t take our beloved characters down this path. I wondered if she made a mistake by writing this book, but by the second half of the book, Dean West obliterated all my doubts. I couldn’t love this book harder if I tried!! I fell madly in love with Dean all over again and just wished like I have throughout this series that I could have found a man like him. The depth of his love and adoration for Liv is beyond BEAUTIFUL!!! I can’t even tell you how many times I cried while reading this book!!

I have to say this was the first love story I read, where I felt the characters were so REAL. Some of the problems they face are things that any couple would encounter, and yet these stories are still so very captivating. Through every hardship, Dean and Liv always are there for each other or they find their way back to the love that keeps them together. Dean’s need to keep Liv and his children safe so deeply rooted within him that when circumstances take that control away from him, he has a very hard time accepting the feelings of helplessness. They find themselves facing an enemy that he can’t just swoop in and obliterate. Liv is facing the biggest battle of her life and Dean is in utter despair because there is nothing he can do to fix this for her!!

But this man is truly amazing! His love for her never wavers and no matter what, his passion for Liv never tapers off in the slightest, which is what she needs the most. He always made her feel desirable and loved beyond measure!!!!

Archer was almost as swoon-worthy as Dean in this book. I have not read his book but now you better believe I am making it my mission to get to his book soon. This man stepped up to the plate countless times throughout this story and FINALLY the West brothers get over the pain from the past and find their way back to the relationship they once had when they were younger. He was the one person that was able to comfort Dean and helped him cope with the unthinkable.

When tragedy hits you, you find out who your real friends are. This story covered a very poignant topic that affects so many people these days and for me, it really felt like it was happening to one of my closest friends. I cried for Liv, Dean, and their two children. I wanted to rage on certain characters who seemed to just drop out of existence when the going got tough, but later on when things are revealed, you better believe I cried like a baby!! Even now as I write this review, I feel the tears welling up!

I can’t tell you just how much this series has meant to me. It’s one of my most beloved of all time. I am thankful to Nina Lane for letting us take one more journey with the Professor and his Beauty. This is EXACTLY how their story had to come to a beautiful end!! I wouldn’t change a thing!!!

When these two are together & intimate, they are explosive. Their chemistry is electric & Dean absolutely worships Liv body, mind & soul.

I thought this was a fabulous book! It was such a beautiful story. This couple truly touched my heart. I can’t ever get enough of my sexy professor West. As usual Dean & Liv indulge in one another often, & it’s absolutely delicious! I also loved we get plenty of swoony Archer West too. I would also love books for both Nicholas & Bella.

REVIEW – FIRST AND GOAL (Moving the Chains, #1) by Kata Cuic

As much as I’ve spent the last three years wanting Evie, it kind of scares the shit out of me to realize how low I’ll go to get her. I’ll take anything she might give me and work as hard as I have to in order to get it.

For a brand new author, I have to say that I was impressed. I kept seeing this book being mentioned on Facebook and Goodreads and decided I needed to see what the buzz was all about. This is YA, and while I can appreciate a good YA, it’s not my typical “Go To” genre. The teenage angst is off the charts high in this one, but the Hero is certainly lovable enough that he kept me engaged in the story.

Eva and Rob are seniors at the same high school. They have known each other since the 9th grade but over the past few years, a distance developed between them. Both harbor huge crushes on each other but they are equally oblivious to that fact. Eva is an honor’s student and drum major, she thinks of herself as a geek, but to Rob, she is the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. Eva and Rob end up in a lot of the same classes since they both are honor students. Rob ends up being her calculus tutor when she fails the first quiz of the semester and their teacher orders him to tutor Eva to help pick her grade back up. This seems to be the last thing Eva wants. She has a huge chip on her shoulder and doesn’t hesitate to lash out at Rob. She went out with one of the members of his football team and things ended badly. The guy spread rumors about Eva being supremely easy and ever since she’s been branded the school slut. Her trust level of the opposite sex is at an all-time low because of her predicament.

Rob Falls is the Quarterback of the High School’s football team. He’s the most popular and most desired boy by all the girls in school. But Rob has only ever had eyes for Eva. He hasn’t dated anyone since he transferred from his catholic school back in the ninth grade. He’s been secretly pining away for Eva and hoping to get his shot with her. Unfortunately, rumors start spreading about Rob being a ladies man and he does nothing to stop them because they end up giving him more street cred with his other teammates. His reputation has Eva seeing Rob as a player and someone she needs to avoid. How ironic that the girl who is falsely accused of being a slut could so easily believe rumors about someone else and then treat them badly because of said rumors!! For this reason, I didn’t care for Eva for almost the entire book.

These two end up as partners in biology class and their first project is called the bio-effect. Boys and girls are paired up and have to ask a series of questions, and some of them are very personal. Rob and Eva get off to a very rocky start in the beginning and I would place all the blame on Eva and the humungous chip on her shoulder. Rob noticed how she changed after she dated his teammate for a short while and suspects that she was raped and even when he confronts her about it and she denies it, he still believes there’s something more to what happened between them.

I was starting to get beyond frustrated with both characters and was beginning to think that maybe I am just too old to relate to the trials and tribulations of today’s teenagers, but then BAM , that ENDING!!! Totally not what I was expecting to happen, AT ALL!! And now the author has me sucked in because I just have to know what happens next.

This is the seventh book in the Second Chances series by LP Dover. I had never read anything by this author but I loved the sound of the synopsis, and so I took a chance on this one. Obviously, this can be read as a standalone, as I was able to follow the story without any trouble. I am now anxious to read the other books in the series after having enjoyed this one so much. This isn’t necessarily a tale of a “second chance” romance, it’s more having to do with getting that second chance at life, love, and happiness.

Derek McLaughlin is a defensive linebacker for the NFL team, the Carolina Cougars. He suffered a tremendous loss when his girlfriend and unborn child were killed in a horrific car accident that he was also a victim of. He’s been hating life and lost his way, and so he leaves North Carolina behind and heads off to Wyoming to work on his friend’s farm in order to clear his head. Up until that point, he had been drowning his sorrows in alcohol and women, and completely letting his teammates down. After a few months away, Derek has been able to sober up and is on the path back to a normal life. He heads back home and gets back on the field with his teammates. But on his first night back home, he literally runs into a beautiful woman who has him feeling things he never thought he would again.

Hayden Hunter is a Veterinarian who works at a local animal hospital in town. Her love of animals and dedication to her work keeps her extremely busy, which means she has a non-existent social life. She’s never had good luck with relationships and actually seems quite happy with the way her life is going. But then she runs into Derek McLaughlin and she feels an instant attraction to him. She doesn’t follow Football so she had no idea she had just run into a huge NFL star. These two form a fast friendship and actually agree to keep things platonic because Derek doesn’t think he’s capable of committing to another woman and Hayden has no intention of being just another notch on Derek’s headboard.

As they spend more time together, it becomes clear that keeping things platonic is just not feasible and the relationship starts to heat up big time!! But can Derek get over his fears of possibly losing another person he loves, especially when Hayden has come to mean so much more to him that anyone before? And add on the fact that someone is out to destroy Hayden’s professional reputation and that she could also possibly be in potential danger!

This was definitely a story that I easily got engrossed in and although it was a little predictable, overall it was an enjoyable read. I mean that I will be looking out for more books by LP Dover and would love the chance to read all the previous books in this series.

This series is so different from her other stuff. It’s a beautiful story set on the Tennessee countryside about two soulmates who get a second chance at love. There are three of these delicious Hennington brothers & I can’t wait for Wyatt & Trent’s books! 😀

Some would say I hadn’t known him well enough to love him, that I’d loved my own fantasy of him, that I’d simply been young and fickle, that perhaps I didn’t even know what love was. But I didn’t believe it–even now, all these years later and with the eyes of a woman. Something in him had called to me, something about him had spoken to my heart in a way no one had before or since.

This story completely captivated me from beginning to end. I sat on my couch all day and read it in one sitting. It’s a tale of friends-to-lovers, forbidden love, betrayal, revenge, second chance love, and ultimately forgiveness. If you have read any of Mia Sheridan’s works, you know to expect a good dose of steam and my-oh-my do we get that in spades here!!LAWD HAVE MERCY!! I knew after reading that heart-stopping prologue that I was in for one incredible journey and Ms. Sheridan surely delivered!!

Brogan Ramsay came to America with his father and little sister from Ireland when he was about fourteen, soon after the death of his mother. His father more often than not, turned to alcohol to drown out his sorrows. Brogan’s father lands a job as a gardener for the wealthy De Havilland family in Greenwich, CT. They live in a small cottage on the De Havilland estate. Brogan often ends up covering for his alcoholic father by taking care of the grounds for him. Life has not been easy on Brogan but the one bright spot for him is Lydia De Havilland, the daughter of his father’s boss. He lives for the moments he gets to spend with her and only dares to dream that someday she could be his.

When Lydia and Brogan are around sixteen years old, they end up being each other’s first kiss and then some inside the horse stables and it was Lydia who initiated it all. She had a plan but it all goes to hell pretty quickly when her older brother Stuart shows up and the person who takes the fall and who suffers the most humiliation is Brogan. He and his family are forced to leave and his life goes down a dark path, but he vows that one day he will get revenge against the De Havilland’s, especially the beautiful Lydia who broke his heart worst of all.

Several years later, things have worked out completely different for Brogan and the De Havilland siblings. Brogan is a very wealthy and successful businessman, and the De Havilland siblings are on the verge of becoming destitute due to Stuart’s spending habits and addictions. Their father had passed away and left the family business to them but he also left them with a considerable amount of debt. They end up losing the family home and even the business. Brogan has never forgotten the last time he saw the De Havilland’s and has already set in motion his plot for revenge to annihilate the two. Stuart ends up losing the company to Brogan in a poker game and Lydia tries to take matters into her own hands by going to meet with Brogan. She has no idea that Brogan harbors any resentment towards her and is blown away by his cold reception when they meet up. He offers her to come work for him at his home, doing whatever menial task he throws at her and for the sake of her family, she accepts. Brogan does quite a bit to humiliate Lydia but this woman takes it like a champ. Through it all, she manages to keep her chin held up high for the most part.

I guess you could say that Brogan is a huge douche but I knew that underneath his cool and aloof façade that his heart still only belonged to Lydia and there are times he even feels so much remorse over the things that he does. When certain things are cleared up between them, we get some serious STEAM!! Like throw some ice down your panties to keep them from melting STEAM!!!

For me, this book had it all. This is what I come to expect when I am reading a Mia Sheridan book and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

WOW!!! SUPER HOT!!

When I saw that K. Webster had another new book coming out, I just had to get my hands on it. This author’s books have been blowing up my Goodreads feeds and I really enjoyed Sweet Jayne. ZEKE’s EDEN is a super short novella packed with a lot of naughty steam!! I definitely found myself getting a bit turned on even though there is the element of insta-love present in this book. But hey if you overlook that, the hot & dirty sexy times is well worth it!!

Zeke Wilder has just been released from prison after serving a three-year sentence for having nearly beaten to death the man who killed his ex-girlfriend. His best friend who owns a local bar gives Zeke a bartending job and a place to stay. His first night on the job he sees a beautiful young woman and is so turned on by her that he is determined to get her in his bed.

Eden Blevins is the eighteen-year-old daughter of a very famous televangelist. She has lived a very sheltered life, but on the night she meets Zeke, she decides to throw caution to the wind and lets him take her back to his apartment. Eden is truly innocent and naïve, and Zeke has no idea that he’s about to have his heart stolen by this young girl.

The two get down to business pretty quickly and that Zeke is one seriously filthy talking alpha male. I literally felt my temperature rising while reading this one, but honestly I couldn’t believe that while he saw how innocent Eden was, he didn’t have any idea that she was still a virgin, and that during round two or three of their sexual escapades, that Zeke decides wearing a condom is really of no importance. Don’t get me wrong, I was still very much enjoying myself!! But I think we all know there’s going to be a teenaged pregnancy involved in the next book!!

Eden and Zeke are nearly eleven years apart in age and currently from different worlds as well. How can a relationship between them ever work especially if Eden’s father will go to every length humanly possible to keep these two away from each other??

SYNOPSIS

The plan for Cici Carrington was to steadily climb UP the corporate ladder, and hopefully do so without her skirt tucked into the back of her underpants. I never thought of myself as a swoony girly-girl, but I was swooning lately. Oh, I was swooning like no one had ever swooned before. Tales of my swooniness would be told for generations. I was probably counterbalancing the women’s suffrage movement with how hard I was swooning.

Honestly, I had never heard of Katherine Stevens before I picked up this book, but now after having finished it, this woman is definitely going to be on my radar!! What an awesome feeling to find a new author to love!! The cover and the synopsis piqued my interest but the story reeled me in hook, line, and sinker!! I lost count over how many times I laughed out loud. This book is non-stop laughs but with a healthy dose of panty melting steam to boot!

Cici Carrington is a beautiful, quirky and single girl who lives in a tiny one-bedroom apartment with her one-eyed cat, Leroy, on the lower east side of Manhattan. She works at an advertising agency with her bestie, who is equally if not more quirky than Cici is. One night after quitting time she ends up getting on an elevator with a devilishly handsome man who’s wearing a suit that looks like it was tailor-made to fit his beautiful body!! Her luck gets even better when the elevator breaks down and she is stuck with Mr. Suit Wearing Hottie for HOURS!!!! After hours of chit chat and fun banter, one thing leads to another and clothes are being ripped off and they are having the HOTTEST & LOUDEST sex of their lives!!! Plans are made to meet up again soon but things get a whole lot more complicated when Cici gets a promotion and HR has hired a new assistant for her. The assistant turns out to be Cole Danvers, the HOTTIE Sex God from the elevator!! This throws a huge curveball for them as there is a strict no fraternization rule at work. At first, I was a little disappointed. I wanted him to be her boss. Somehow I thought it would be sexier if he was a man with power, but I couldn’t have been more wrong!!

The no fraternization rules don’t exactly stop these two from having sex on the regular in Cici’s office and the woman isn’t the least bit quiet during the act. You know that it’s inevitable that the two will get busted and that only helped to keep me on pins and needles every time they threw caution to the wind and would engage in all kinds of hot & dirty sex in the office!! And, OMG, this story was so hysterical! Cici is the biggest nerd and completely accident prone, and yet Cole couldn’t get enough of her. I fell so completely in love with Mr. Cole Danvers!! He really is ever girl’s dream and worthy of top book boyfriend status!!

This is definitely a book you need to add to your TBRs and try to get to it ASAP!!! I will be keeping Katherine Stevens on my radar from now on and will read anything written by this woman!

I felt like I was another member of the band and I too was touring the country playing music. The realness of the story transports the reader inside the pages of the book. You’ll feel the love and the music, loudly. If you are a music fan, a romance fan or just a fan of reading awesome stories, please read these books, the only thing you’ll regret will be not having read them sooner.

This is the third book I’ve read in the series and it is, BY FAR, my FAVORITE. Each book is a standalone and is loosely based off of famous fairy tales. This one centers around the tale of Camelot, specifically with Lancelot and Guinevere. Don’t worry it takes place in present day and the characters just happen to work at The Legend of Camelot, which is like a Medieval Times for those of you who have been to one of those dinner theater shows. I just loved this one so much, and it had nothing to do with the fact that I have always been fascinated with the tale of King Arthur, Camelot, and the Knights of the Round Table. It just had everything to do with the main characters and the breathtaking love that they had for one another.

Colton Lane is the dark and brooding Viking Knight at TLOC. He has a body made for sin and a very masculine alpha appearance. He’s not what you would consider handsome but something about him just oozes sexuality. Women who come to the show end up throwing themselves at him and he’s been known to take some of them back to the horse stables a time or two for some hot schmexy times. Colton is at a job fair with his boss, trying to recruit new employees for TLOC. He runs into a beautiful young woman and her special needs brother and normally he doesn’t go out of his way to socialize with others or to offer help but something about this woman draws him to her. He finds himself going to bat for the two with his boss to get them both jobs at TLOC. Not only does he end up helping them land jobs, but he ends up opening his home to them when they are evicted from the seedy motel they had been calling home for the past month. He just can’t seem to stop being their savior.

Verity Gwynne is the young woman that finds her knight in shining armor in Colton. She recently lost both of her parents and has been left the responsibility of caring for her older brother who suffered a head injury when he was young and is now mentally disabled. She’s never been given a break in life. Her parents spent most of their time caring for her brother because of his disability and left her to fend for herself. Since their deaths life has been a huge uphill battle for her until the day she meets Colton.

Colton has also had a rough start in life and because he had explosive, violent outbursts, which was termed intermittent explosive disorder, and it led to some trouble in school, he was sent away by his parents to live with his Aunt. The outbursts would only be triggered when someone he cared for was being threatened or harmed. He lived a better life with his Aunt and before she passed away she had asked him to look out for his cousin, Melody, who suffers from Down Syndrome.

Colton and Verity feel an instant attraction to each other but they’re both a bit clueless and can’t see what’s going on between them. Once they finally admit their feelings the steam factor is OFF THE CHARTS!!!! I think every woman needs a Dark Sexy Knight in their lives!!!!

As with every fairy tale, there are some villains who threaten to tear the two young lovers apart forever. Will Colton and Verity be able to face their challenges head on and keep their relationship intact?

This story was the complete package for me. I was absolutely engrossed in it from the very first page to the end of its amazing epilogue. I have enjoyed the two other books I read by Ms. Regnery but never did I feel blown away until this one right here. Now I am adding her to my list of MUST READ authors. She has won this reader over indefinitely!
