Lucy and Trixie have been best friends since kindergarten. They were always together, more than friends, they were soul mates. Lucy also happens to be in love with Trixie’s brother, Ben. The four of them; Trixie, Lucy, Ben and Lucy’s brother Clayton were always together. They grew up in a small town, with a big lake. Fishing and swimming were two things they always did. One day, that very same Lake they grew up in, is what took Trixie away.

Ben loses his mind after his sister dies. He’s dealing with a lot of guilt, and a lot of what if’s that haunt him every minute of every day, also making him rebel in anger against the whole world, including Lucy.

Lucy’s nickname was Lulu. Trixie gave her that name, and she and Ben were the only ones who used it, but now that Trixie is gone and Ben has pushed her out of his life she isn’t Lulu anymore.

Their pain is constant, both Ben and Lucy are totally lost without Trixie. They simply don’t know how to live without her, especially during that first summer since she’s gone. They still love each other deeply, but the guilt and the pain are too much for both of them to handle.

This story was just wonderful. Grieving is something people convey in many different ways, and is something we all experience. I thought this author did an amazing job in creating a story that was easy to get lost in. And unlike other stories I read when someone dies, this book wasn’t only about the sad moments and the pain, it had a lot of beauty in it, a lot of light.

I must confess that it did make me cry a bit because the friendship between these two girls got to me. Also, their parents were such a big part of the story. Everybody was dealing with the loss of this joyful girl, and everyone had reacted and learned something different from her death, including myself. I also smiled a lot, Lucy, Emily, and Hanna’s characters were completely delightful and I loved how much more depth they added to the story.

A beautiful book, that I would definitely recommend to everyone. Don’t be afraid of the subject matter of the book, because like I said before, it was done right. You will not drown in tears, your heart will feel light after reading it, and I promise that you will enjoy it.

Love is a brutal emotion. That’s how I’m certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it’s our sole purpose in life. Love is the heartbeat of our existence—the essence of humanity. In every life we try to do it better.

Love is maddening. It robs all reason and leaves us drowning in desperation and fear. Desperate to hold on to everything that makes each breath worth taking. Fearful that the very air that fills our lungs is that love. One cannot live without air. Can one live without love?

Seriously, I have just had my mind blown again by the incomparable writing of Jewel E Ann. She has managed to leave me with feelings of total exhilaration and utter tragic loss within the same breath. I had to put the book on hold only due to the fact I had a number of reviews due last week, and I am so thankful for that because I truly got to savor this story but now I feel so lost. How do I go on after reading such a masterpiece??!! Jewel’s writing is hands-down, EXQUISITE in SCARLET STONE!! I fell in love with her words! I lost count over how many quotes I ended up highlighting! Her words gave me chills. I swear there were so many “feels” being invoked while reading this one. It is definitely on the top of my BEST OF 2016 list!! The story, Heroine, and Hero are what makes this a truly unforgettable read!!

Scarlet Stone is a skilled thief and computer hacker who has given up her life of crime and chosen the straight and narrow path of a law abiding citizen. Her change in direction has a lot to do with the fact that her father is in jail serving a ten-year sentence for a crime that she committed. He took the fall for his beloved daughter. Scarlet is now on a path to discovery. Certain life altering circumstances have her leaving her old life behind in London and searching for answers where it all began for her in Savannah, Georgia. She ends up meeting someone on the plane who has a house on Tybee Island in which a room is available to rent. What her new landlord fails to mention is that she will have to share the house with an incredibly HOT but seriously SURLY man. Scarlet and Theo don’t start off on the best of terms. Theo is anything but cordial towards her and oftentimes he exhibits a very antagonistic scary demeanor towards her.

Scarlet is not one to be intimidated and so she makes it her mission to break through Theo’s hardcore exterior and soon these two are giving into their animalistic passion for each other. HOLY HELL ladies, Theo is going to set some panties on fire!! It’s obvious these two have white hot chemistry and both go into it knowing there is an expiration date on their time together. Scarlet is only in town for six months and Theo plans on leaving as soon as he finishes renovating the house they are both inhabiting. Unfortunately for the both of them, deep feelings spark and when it’s time to part ways they’ve both left an indelible imprint on each other’s hearts.

There was a side story going along that will impact everything and everyone so dramatically! I mean that just goes to show you how truly brilliant a storyteller Jewel is!!

I normally am all about the Hero when I read my books and Theo is definitely going to be added to my Top Book Boyfriends list, BUT, it is the Heroine that I adored so much!! I loved Scarlet’s ability to love fiercely through adversity and just her kick-ass feisty attitude!!

SCARLET STONE is a true GEM!! There aren’t enough stars to rate this book! If you haven’t gotten to it yet, make sure you bump this to the top of your TBRs!!

K. Webster is truly talented at writing the really dark stories but she also has proven to be quite a versatile author. Never pigeon-holing herself into one genre. Whispers and the Roars definitely has its dark elements but it is also a story about true unconditional love…something that only exists in fairy tales.

I really didn’t pay attention to the blurb and it actually made the book that much more enjoyable for me. It wasn’t anything that I would ever have expected, so I advise you all to skim over the blurb and reviews. It is truly best to go into this one without having any preconceived notions. I kind of figured out what was going on right before the halfway mark as I am sure most of you will.

I’ll give a brief sum up. Kady and Yeo have been childhood friends and sweethearts since they were in elementary school. Kady’s home life was extremely horrific and she had been severely abused by her father for many years. The poor girl has endured things that no innocent child should ever have to be subjected to, but the one loving constant in her life was the beautiful boy next door, Yeo. Yeo loved Kady despite all of her complexities and always acted as her protector, till one day she pushes him away. Kady didn’t want Yeo to sacrifice his life for her when he had the ability to go off to college and make something of himself. The two end up separated for twelve years but now Yeo is back in town. He’s become a doctor and Yeo is back to claim his sweet “Katydid”. Nothing and no one is going to get in his way, not even Kady!

really loved Yeo!! I rarely get to read about a Hero who is half Korean and half White like me and the fact that Yeo was, turned out to be the icing on the cake for me!! There was one aspect that I kind of found uncomfortable because it’s a subject matter I try to avoid at all costs but the special circumstances of this story made it easier for me to bear.

Whispers and the Roars is currently available! K. Webster fans are going to really enjoy this one and for those who haven’t read her yet and can tolerate really traumatizing subject matter, should definitely add this to your TBRs.

A delicious revelation about how one can be healthy and lose weight without having to step foot inside a gym. This book is like having a heart to heart with a friend about nutrition. I’ve had so much fun reading about new ways to plan for my meals and learning tricks about how to stick with a healthy weight loss plan that works for me. I loved it, I am planning on re-reading this book several times, if not forever.

I love to eat, I have been a slave to chocolate and any form of sweets since I was a little girl. As an adult, I’ve had to kill myself at the gym in order to maintain a healthy weight and continue to still be able to eat the sweets I love so much. But in the back of my head, I knew I was going about the nutrition part all wrong, and that I needed a better plan. Reading this book has literally blown my mind. WTF Am I Suppose To Eat has given me the exact tools I needed.

First, let me tell you that I love C.J English’s writing style. She is honest and straightforward, she doesn’t try to impress the reader with fancy, and complicated nutritional terms, or tries to push her beliefs down anyone’s throat. You learn about her struggles and her vulnerabilities with food and exercise, as she shares not only her knowledge, but also her experience, and she does it in a fun, and easy to understand way.

Each chapter has the information and tools that will help YOU create a nutrition game plan, that will work for you specifically. Like the book says; forget about asking people what diet worked for them, what pills, or what foods they tried in order to lose weight. Everyone is different, we all have different lifestyles and food tastes, so we need to personalize our diet plans to our specific needs. The good news is, that it is easier than we think, and WTF Am I Suppose To Eat is here to help in an effective way.

I will continue with my workout routines, but I am now armed with tricks and the knowledge that will help me eat in a much healthier way, without having to completely sacrifice eating sweets or drinking wine.

I highly recommend, I repeat… I highly recommend, EVERYONE to read this book. Achieving a healthy weight is not as hard as we think. Buy and read this book, make a commitment with yourself, create a personalized game plan, be organized and plan your meals, because you know what? You will get a cheat day; one day out of the week where you can go ahead and eat that slice of chocolate cake, and still lose weight and be healthy.

I adored the way this story was written with such heart. I loved Eric’s and Aja’s characters, so real and easy to relate to. But my most favorite thing about this whole novel was Jubilee! I loved her courage even when she thought she had none, I loved her strength and total quirky personality. She is an unforgettable and inspiring character that will own the heart of whoever reads her story.

This is a must read! A truly triumphant story that will stay in my heart forever…

Sweet Escape is the second installment in the SUGAR RUSH series and now that I have read both books so far, I can say with certainty that Nina Lane has struck gold again!! I thought that the SPIRAL OF BLISS series was fantastic and now it is clear that Ms. Lane is no “one hit wonder” and that these stories will be a hit with the reading community as well. Ladies are we ever in for a sweet and decadent treat because there is a total of 7 Stone siblings!! The six brothers appear to be blessed in the looks department and from what I have read so far they are beyond gifted with their sexual prowess as well. The Hero and Heroine in this one are Evan Stone and Hannah Lockhart, Luke’s younger brother and Polly’s older sister. The sexual chemistry between these two is sure to get quite a few hearts racing!!

Evan Stone is currently the acting CEO of Sugar Rush while his brother Luke spends his sabbatical in Paris with his girlfriend, Polly. This is his chance to prove to everyone that he is more than capable of running the family business. For most of his life, his family has handled him as if he were fragile because of his congenital heart issues but Evan has always tried to prove that he is a lot tougher than everyone gives him credit for.

Hannah Lockhart is a world traveler and not one who likes to be tied down to one place. She feels a tremendous amount of guilt over the fact that she was not around while her mother became very ill from cancer. She knew that it was wrong to leave her mother’s caretaking in the hands of her younger sister, Polly, but Hannah didn’t have it in her to watch her mother wither away. This stems from the loss of her father and also the loss of her first love. Hannah’s afraid to get close to people because she fears that they will be taken away from her since she’s already dealt with so much loss. He even convinces Hannah to still go on the date and the heat that builds between them had me having major heart palpitations. There’s one thing you need to know about Nina Lane, if you haven’t read any of her books yet, she can deliver the schmexy like no other!! She is sure to get your temperature rising and definitely in the mood for some serious lovin!!

Evan keeps his condition a secret from Hannah for a while but ultimately he has to explain the scar he has in the middle of his chest and surprisingly she doesn’t end up running with this new discovery. On the contrary, Hannah is determined to stay by his side but what happens when things get scary between them and Evan is unwilling to be the anchor that weighs her down?

Sweet Escape was just as incredible as its predecessor and all I can say is that if you haven’t picked up this series yet, you need to bump these up your TBR. The Stone brothers are sure to be added to your top favorite book boyfriends list!

I’m sweating, I’m panting, my heart feels like it’s beating out of my chest. Empire was the perfect ending for this thrilling trilogy, and the perfect set up for the reader to get excited about the Gypsy Brothers books. I can’t wait to read every single book… so here I come!!!!

On this third and last book of the Cartel trilogy, Mariana finally has an escape plan in place. It is getting harder, and harder for her to keep pretenses in front of those who are always following her. She’s already lost so much, but inside her shattered heart there is still a place for love, and she is planning to protect it, no matter what.

Dornan is not who he used to be, he’s no longer the man who saved her ten years ago from that filthy hotel room when her life was in jeopardy. Mariana’s dream for the past decade has been to be able to be by Dornan’s side in front of the world, without having to hide any longer, but now that it seems that this dream might come true, why does it feel more like a nightmare to her?

Her father, a drunk with a gambling problem has gone too far this time, messing up with the big bosses of the Cartel, and Mariana had to step up and pay for her father’s sins with her freedom, in order to save her family.

She’s been taken from Colombia with the purpose to be sold as a sex slave in the U.S, and she’s been delivered to the VP, of the dangerous Motorcycle Club, The Gypsy Brothers. Dornan, the VP of the MC Club, who also happens to be the Cartel’s drug lord’s son, is in charge of getting Mariana ready to meet her terrible destiny.

Dornan is a dangerous man; just like his father he has a lot of darkness lurking inside him. But something about the Colombian beauty has him mesmerized and acting in unlikely ways. He will be the monster who will save Mariana from being sold into sexual slavery, but at what price?

I read this book from cover to cover in one day. The excitement and the darkness of the romance kept me on the edge of my seat, and unable to do, or think about anything else, other than this story.
Lili St. Germain has created a gritty and wicked MC theme story that is totally addictive. I am now forever hooked to her writing style, and I’m very excited to read more.
