I crave this man, and that’s not going to change. I don’t want it to change, and in fact, the safest course for me would be to keep to our agreement and maintain this in a casual manner. I want him very much, yet I don’t want to want him in a way that’s necessary to me. I’ve never given that part of myself to anyone before.

 

 

It’s time to get reacquainted with some of the hottest NHL hockey players from North Carolina’s Cold Fury team. This has been one of my favorite series by Sawyer Bennett. Each player is sexier and dare I say even more swoon-worthy than the previous one. I’ve fallen in love with them all. What I can guarantee is that these books are off the charts STEAMY and incredibly entertaining. I’m left dying in anticipation for the next release.

Luc Fournier is one of the newest members of the Cold Fury. His older brother Max is also on the team and we met him in book six. Luc is an all-around good guy who is extremely passionate about his career as a professional hockey player and he has a very close-knit family. He’s also enjoying the life of a single and most sought-after player by the ladies. There’s not a woman that he sets his sights on that he can’t have. One night at a fundraiser he meets a stunning redhead. The two exchange some flirty banter, one thing leads to another and they end up back at her apartment where they share the most intense and mind-blowing sex of their lives.

 

 

Stephanie Frazier currently works as a museum curator. She’s a very strong-willed and independent woman who doesn’t have any close friends and has never had the desire to be in a committed relationship. This stems from the emotional neglect her parents inflicted upon her throughout her childhood. They provided for her financially but they failed miserably at providing her with a warm and nurturing environment. Stephanie has been satisfied with how she lives her life. She avoids making any close connections with people to protect herself from getting hurt. Stephanie had no idea just how much that one wild night with Luc was going to change her life drastically forever.

Something unexpected has the two crossing paths again and even though they may have thought one night with each other was satisfying, they’re soon realizing that once could never be enough for either of them. Luc and Stephanie decide to become ”friends with benefits”, and while the sex is beyond amazing and they can’t seem to quench their insatiable appetites for each other, there’s also the matter of the heart that wants to inch its way to the forefront.

 

 

While Luc is starting to realize that friendship will never be enough for him when it comes to Stephanie, she is a tougher nut to break. Her childhood has so royally messed with her psyche that she is convinced she is not worthy of being loved and that ultimately she will end up being abandoned and heartbroken. Her stubbornness will make you want to bang your head against the wall. While my heart broke for her over her non-existent relationship with her parents, I couldn’t quite understand how she could even push away such an amazing guy like Luc.

Once the truth is revealed it also becomes apparent that old feelings still exist but now things are complicated because there’s another man who sees how special Em is and he’s made it clear that he intends to win her heart. Emerson has found herself in quite the predicament because Grant has managed to charm his way into her heart but she also hasn’t been able to let Miller go. Not only is she torn between two men but she’s putting her dream of being a Bellevue Bucks cheerleader in jeopardy if she is caught breaking the ”no fraternization” rule.

This story was very slow to take off for me. It took me a while to warm up to it. While I really liked the Heroine, I had a hard time liking Grant and Miller in the beginning. It wasn’t until I was more than halfway through the book that there was any character development with one of the Heroes, but once that happened I was falling for him and knew this was the guy who had to get the girl when all was said and done.

I loved how the three were able to build a friendship between them and that it was clear who the better man was, even to the guy who gets placed in the ”friend zone”. The epilogue will prove to be promising for that guy as we get a teaser as to who his future love interest will be. It looks like Rachel Van Dyken has the makings of another hit series on her hands with ”Player’s Game”!

This is one of the best series I’ve ever read, and one of my favorite book boyfriends. I absolutely adore Donovan Kincaid! He’s totally obsessed with Sabrina. It’s crazy, passionate, & hot as hell! He’s 100% alpha & so damn sexy. I loved how they met in college, & the bit of a love triangle. I also liked how in this book Sabrina has more power in the relationship, & we get to see a more vulnerable side of Donovan. I loved this book & this man so much! Hands down my favorite Laurelin Paige series!!!

As I contemplate the possibility of a future, it all frightens me. I’m scared to be happy. I’m scared to bring all the separate parts of my life together because if I do, it could all implode. Or worse, it could be perfect and then it could disappear.

 

 

If you’re looking for a low on angst steamy read, this one just might hit the spot. This was my second Aleatha Romig book and although at times I really enjoyed it, there were just a few things that bothered me about the story. That’s not to say that I didn’t like ONE NIGHT, I did, but I LOVED her previous book, PLUS ONE so much more.

Amanda Wells is a young widow who has been raising her five-year-old son, Jase since her husband was killed in Afghanistan not too long after their son was born. Her personal life has been on a permanent hiatus since then. Amanda’s entire life focuses on her job and her son. She has not had any desire to put herself out there again and re-enter the dating scene. Amanda also doesn’t want to bring a man into her son’s life when ”forever” isn’t a guarantee for anyone. While she claims she hasn’t gotten involved with another man because of how it would affect her son’s life, deep down she’s afraid of going through another loss like the one she already went through when she lost her husband.

 

 

Amanda’s best friend convinces her to go out on a blind date her husband’s friend that is a retired professional NHL hockey player. She’s hesitant at first but at the urging of her friend and her mother, she decides to take a night off from her motherly duties and try having some fun. Amanda is supposed to go on a double date with her best friend and her hubby, but when she gets to the restaurant she gets a text from her friend explaining that they can’t make it. Just as she’s about to leave, a handsome stranger she’s sitting next to at the bar strikes up a conversation with her. Things seem to be flowing easily between them and it’s hard for her to deny this sexy man is igniting desires in her that she hasn’t felt in years. Malcolm and Amanda not only have a tantalizing conversation over drinks, they end up back at Malcolm’s place where they share the most passionate night together. What was only supposed to be one night of no strings attached sex, turns into something that neither of them ever expected.

Throughout the story, Malcolm and Amanda only get to spend some stolen moments together when Amanda’s family or best friend are able to watch her son. I’d say her guilty conscience was their biggest obstacle, and this was one of the aspects of the story that didn’t appeal to me at all. It had been five years since her husband died and she devoted all of that time to raising her son, her feelings of guilt seemed unreasonable to me, so were her fears of bringing a new man into their lives.

 

 

Malcolm was almost too good to be true. He was absolutely perfect! He was extremely patient with Amanda and maybe just a little too quick with giving his heart to her. It felt a bit insta-lovish on his part. I really did love his character though and was mad every time Amanda kept him at arm’s length. I mean she wouldn’t even tell him what her son’s name was!

At about the 85% mark in the story, there’s a little twist which had me leaning towards really enjoying this book again and the ending was sugary sweet!! I did finish the book feeling satisfied after all and with a smile on my face as well.

I’ve always wanted to try a Gena Walters book and finally found the opportunity with CAN’T HARDLY BREATHE. This is the fourth installment in the ”Original Heartbreakers” series but can be read as a standalone. Each book focuses on a different Heroine in the small town of Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, and the Alpha Male Hero who changes her life forever. I don’t normally read Harlequin romances because they tend to be a little bit cheesy but every once in a while, I will admit, that I can appreciate them for their entertainment value. While more often than not, I did feel that the Heroine was an oddball and ridiculously corny, it didn’t in any way hinder my enjoyment of this story.

Thea Mathis has lived in Strawberry Valley almost her entire life. She has one of the biggest hearts and is known for her sweet nature. These are admirable traits but she’s also very insecure which stems from her childhood days when her father abandoned her family and also from being bullied over her weight issues and her physical appearance. Thea had dreams of becoming a meteorologist but she soon gave up on her dreams for a man she thought she loved. Thea left Strawberry Valley to attend college and while at school she met her soon to be husband. Since no one had ever shown that they cared for her, she ate up the attention she received from this man but soon enough he would prove to be like all the other people in her life who had disappointed her, and she ends up going back home to Strawberry Valley and taking over the family business, which is the Strawberry Inn. Her mother decides that it’s her time to live her life so she leaves the Inn and Thea’s younger sister, Holly, in her care. Almost everyone in her life either takes advantage of her or makes her doubt her self-worth. Except for her two best friends and the one man who has owned her heart since they met in kindergarten.

 

 

Daniel Porter is an ex-army ranger, who served two tours in Afghanistan. He co-owns a security company with two of his friends who were also in his platoon. Daniel has PTSD which stems from his stint as an Army Ranger. He has night terrors that plague him on the regular and he manages to escape the torture for a little while through his many sexual conquests. Thea takes the entire situation the wrong way and thinks that Daniel is rejecting her because he isn’t attracted to her. She doesn’t know that Daniel has always had a thing for her and that he couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have such a beautiful woman offering herself to him. The only reason he turned her down was he knew one night would never be enough for either of them and it freaked him out.

Once Daniel realizes the huge mistake he made by turning Thea away, he becomes a man on a mission and he is relentless in his pursuit of Thea. No matter how hard she tries there’s no denying the chemistry she has with Daniel, and eventually he is able to prove himself enough that she gives him a chance. Their passion is hotter than anything they’ve ever experienced in their entire lives but is it enough to get them past the many obstacles that lay ahead of them?

CAN’T HARDLY BREATHE is currently available. I found it to be a very entertaining and sexy read. I haven’t read the other books in the series but after having read this one, the other characters intrigued me so much that I hope to get the chance to read them all. GETTING DOWN by HELENA HUNTING 

I’ve shared the size of Bane’s cock with her. I’ve mentioned my new religion: the Church of Bane Cock. I’ve written sonnets about how beautiful it is. Not really, but I’ve made up a couple of limericks. 

 

 

 

 

Helena Hunting is one of the authors that is ranked HIGH on my favorites list. I love her brand of humor and a number of her cocky and sexy as hell Heroes have stolen my heart. When I found out she would be writing a Halloween themed novella for the characters from SHACKING UP, I knew I had to get my hands on this book. I’m not a huge fan of anthologies but there was no way I could pass up on getting more of sexy Bane and vivacious Ruby!! I loved this couple and their story so much. To be able to spend a little more time with them was a sweet Halloween treat.

The story focuses equally on the sexy hijinks of Bane and Ruby, and also on the troubling relationship between Amie and her fiancé Armstrong. The timeline seems to be around several months after Ruby moves into Bane’s condo permanently. Their relationship is still somewhat new and these two have an insanely insatiable sexual appetite for each other. Bane and Ruby can’t seem to get enough of each other. We get to see a vulnerable side to Bane. The fact that their careers have them working on opposite schedules means that they don’t get to spend a lot of quality time together and there are moments when Bane is jealous of the attention that Amie and even his family get from Ruby. These two are perfect for each other because Ruby never gets annoyed with Bane’s jealous streaks. She is understanding and does whatever she can to show Bane just how much he means to her.

While Amie is incredibly happy for her best friend she’s also jealous over Ruby’s and Bane’s relationship. Amie’s been dealing with an enormous amount of stress over the planning of her upcoming wedding. She’s also upset that no matter how hard she tries to please her soon to be mother-in-law, the woman seems to dislike her for no apparent reason. Ruby has noticed that Amie has lost the special spark in her since she got together with Armstrong. She used to be rebellious and now she’s become a shell of the woman she used to be. Amie knows that her friends don’t approve of her relationship with Armstrong and deep down she knows that she will be making a big mistake if she goes through with the marriage. There’s no spark between them like there is with Bane and Ruby. Their sex life is practically non-existent and utterly bland when they actually do have sex.

Ruby and Amie wind up being in charge of planning a huge Halloween gala and fundraiser that Bane and Armstrong’s corporations will sponsor. The theme of the ball is “famous couples – real or fictional”. Bane and Ruby go as Batman and Catwoman and an unforeseen costume malfunction will be cause for some truly hilarious moments. Amie ends up going as Cinderella without her Prince since a business trip prevented Armstrong from attending. This is quite fortunate because it’s at the gala that we get to see Lex, Bane’s older brother, and Amie interact. There’s definitely an attraction brewing between them and we learn something about how and when they first met. It sheds some light on what could be the cause of animosity between Lex and Armstrong. I’m already putting the pieces of this puzzle together.

Lex is just as sexy and charismatic as his younger brother and I just know that he’s the right guy for Amie. He’s going to be the one to bring back Anarchy Amie and he’ll treasure her for the woman she truly is. I don’t even know how I am going to be able to wait for HOOKING UP to be released. Getting just this little tease of how off the charts hot this couple’s chemistry is going to be has me dying from the anticipation!!

ALABAMA SUMMER Series by J. DANIELS 

 

 

 

In J. Daniels’ portion of the anthology, she unites us with all of the couples from her ALABAMA SUMMER series. It’s Halloween and some of the couples have some life altering changes coming their way. There are some tender moments, heartbreaking moments, and some hotter than hell panty melting moments!! I don’t know why I do this so often but I tend to read books in a series, out of sequence. While each book in the Alabama Summer series is about a different couple and can be read as standalones, all of these characters are either family or friends so they are all connected. I started this series by reading the last book, and while I only met the other couples briefly in that one, I was still able to follow and enjoy this short novella. So anyone who hasn’t read any of the books will still be able to enjoy this one.

In Ben and Mia’s story, they both just learn that Mia is pregnant with their third child. While they are beyond thrilled, Mia worries about telling her best friend, Tessa. Tessa and Luke have been trying to get pregnant for a while without success. They’re starting to lose hope and Mia wants to be considerate of her best friend’s feelings.

Luke takes Tessa on a date to a haunted house attraction to get her mind off of their baby making issues. He’s not particularly into the Halloween festivities but he’d do anything for the love of his life. Their heart to heart over how having a baby or not will affect their relationship will leave you swooning over Luke.

Reed and Beth are expecting their first baby and a scare early into the pregnancy has affected their once wild and kinky sex life. While the sex is always phenomenal, Reed has been keeping it ”vanilla” and Beth is starting to lose her mind. She wants the kink back and the two will do just that in the storage room in the back of the bar that Beth works at. Panties will be incinerated! I guarantee it!

CJ and Riley are still living together and even more in love. While at the Halloween party at the bar, CJ proposes to Riley in front of all of their close friends and family! It was great getting to see this couple embark on their “Happily Ever After”.

The last story is the CUTEST!!! It looks like Nolan is going to be a chip off the old block. He’s as romantic as Ben. Maybe there’s a book for this adorable couple which will take place fifteen to twenty years in the future?

I loved this series so much! It’s my favorite by this author. I haven’t read a series in a while that has consumed me & wrecked me emotionally like this one has. These characters are addictive. I’ve never read a love triangle where I truly adore both men and have such a hard time choosing one. It was an intense story with so much love. One woman, two soul mates, & magnetic, crazy chemistry=on fire hot!!! This series needs to be read in order. It’s hard to put down & is absolutely fabulous!!!

Pam Godwin’s TANGLED LIES series will take you on one wildly erotic and entertaining ride. I found myself consumed by this angst-filled story of three people caught up in a love triangle that will ultimately shatter not one heart but three. I guarantee that most of you will find it hard to choose between Cole and Trace. They were both incredible Heroes and just like Danni, my heart belonged to both men. However, there was one I loved just a bit more and so I knew going into this last book, that there was a chance the outcome was going to shatter me.

 

 

At the end of book two, Danni had walked away from both Cole and Trace. It’s been five weeks since she last saw the two loves of her life and she’s barely breathing. Danni has sold her house, is unemployed, and has plans to move in with her parents who live in Florida. Her plans change when she ends up being drugged and kidnapped. We quickly learn that she isn’t in any physical danger. Turns out Cole and Trace are her kidnappers and they brought her to Cole’s luxurious and isolated cabin in the mountains. They’ve been keeping tabs on her and know that she hasn’t been doing well without them. The plan is to live in that cabin for the next six months and by the end of their time together, Danni will have to choose which man will get to be her ’forever’.

 

 

 

This is one crazy story! How this one woman could get so lucky to end up being loved by two incredible men baffled me throughout the series. She questions it herself quite a few times throughout the book and I must admit I didn’t think she was all that special. Danni’s personality often grated on my nerves, but what I wouldn’t give to be in her situation. She literally gets to have her cake and eat it too and I found it refreshing that the Heroine had all the power and adoration.

 

 

To say this last installment was steamy would be a gross understatement. Some of the scenes were so erotic I wouldn’t be surprised if some panties go up in flames from how scorching hot things get between the three characters. I finally got the M-F-M I’ve always fantasized about!!

 

 

I think that most readers will be pleased with how the story ends but it will definitely feel a little bittersweet too because of the one who is left behind. No matter who you favor I do believe the outcome will leave you feeling satisfied. Just be ready to be taken through twists and turns along the way.

It’s time to take a trip back to my favorite little town in England called Dilbury Village. The quaint and picturesque town along with its inhabitants will endear themselves to your hearts. I feel as if these characters have become some of my closest friends. What I love most of all, even more than the sweet romances, is the bond of true and most loyal friendships that these amazing women share. Romantic comedies are definitely my first loves when it comes to my books and Charlotte Fallowfield’s insane brand of humor is what has me addicted to her stories and always leaves me craving for more. I simply can’t get enough of this warm-hearted and wildly hilarious series!! I devoured this book and when I finished, I was left feeling the tingly butterflies in my stomach that I get when I absolutely fell in love with the story. Get ready to be swept away by the sweet and touching romance between Georgie Bassett and Weston Argent!

If you read NEVER THE BRIDE then you will remember Georgie, the dog groomer who was also Abbie’s best friend. Towards the end of that story, they had taken a holiday in the Mayan Riviera as Abbie tried to sort out her feelings for Miller. While on this getaway it was hinted that Georgie might have found a romance of her own. So in book two, the story starts with the two friends embarking on that trip to Mexico. Now we get to witness the romance between Georgie and Weston unfold before our eyes. It’s filled with many hilarious and embarrassing moments because of course these women are fated to be thrown into some ridiculously funny situations.

 

 

While lounging out in front of their private villa, Georgie happens to see a mouth-wateringly gorgeous man with an insane body, running up the beach almost at the same time about twice a day. She’s completely smitten but also extremely shy. She tries to hide her fascination over this man because she’s never had luck with men who get her pulse racing. Georgie gets extremely nervous and tongue tied. Abbie forces her to make her move as their holiday is nearing its end. Luckily when her attempts at flirting with Weston seem to be painfully awkward, Abbie steps in and gets the two to agree on going out to dinner. The date starts off rocky and of course, Georgie encounters a few mishaps which have her convinced that she’s a walking disaster but somehow it seems that Weston is very much interested in her as she is in him.

It turns out that Weston lives a few towns over from Georgie and they plan on meeting up once they’re both back home, but Weston takes nearly two weeks to give her a call and this has Georgie’s deep fears coming to the surface. She had her heartbroken by her last boyfriend when she caught him cheating on her. It’s been nearly two years since that relationship ended but it’s left a negative impact on her psyche. When she does some soul searching she realizes that what she had with her ex was just comfortable companionship and that the feelings she has for Weston have the potential of being the real thing. He excites her like no other man has before and this scares her because if he breaks her heart she may never recover from it. So Georgie puts up her defenses and lets Weston know that she’s not ready for anything serious just yet and that they need to ease into whatever it is that’s building between them, at a slow pace.

Things are wonderful between them when they are together but Georgie is bothered deep down by Weston’s inability to share everything about his personal life with her. Weston served in the British Army for eleven years and suffers from PTSD. He is unable to open up about what happened while he was in the armed forces and it actually caused the breakup between him and his ex-fiancé. Georgie vows to never push him to share more than he is able to but as time goes on and her heart becomes fully entwined with this man, she starts to slowly resent that she’s never met his friends, family, or even seen where he lives. Any woman would start to feel as if maybe the man she loves isn’t fully invested in their relationship if they were in Georgie’s shoes.

 

 

Aside from the angst and ooey gooey hearts and flowers romance in this story, the friendship between these amazing women of Dilbury Village kept me thoroughly entertained and at times howling from belly aching laughter. I want so much for these ladies to be real and to somehow be my friends too!! Georgie may be my favorite heroine so far in this series because she’s such a huge dog lover and her bond with the cute little French bulldog, Bertie, just tugged at my heart strings!! She’s also such an amazing friend to be there for Abbie during some of her most mortifying moments. I don’t know many friends that would be that loyal and caring. This is definitely a series that is equally focused on the friendships as it is on the romances.

If you’re in need of a lighthearted and humorous romance, then look no further. Take a trip to Dilbury Village. I guarantee you will be wishing you could move there and live amongst these loveable characters.
