REVIEW – FUSION (IGNITE, #5) by Tessa Teevan

Where do babies come from? The question every parent dreads hearing has finally fallen from the lips of six year old Ava Banks, the curious, precocious little girl that you fell in love with in Ignite. Jeremy and Sierra, normally blunt as can be, struggle to find the right words to answer her. So instead, they rewind sixteen years to that one fateful day where a game of Seven Minutes in Heaven inevitably led to life-long romance filled with laughter, love, and many, many mishaps along the way.

Falling in love with your best friend? It’s the most incredible thing in the world. Let’s just hope it lasts. When the world comes crashing down around you, can even the strongest relationship withstand great tragedy?

Stay tuned for lots of laughs, teenage awkwardness, a few tears, and most of all, mullets. Because what good love story doesn’t do business in the front, and party in the back?

We first meet Jeremy & Sierra Banks in Ignite & I’ve wanted more of their love story ever since. They were the funny sister & brother-in-law to Lexi who have an adorable daughter named Ava. In Fusion they go back in time and tell their story from the time they met through to present day.

-We were just kids. But, even at such a young age, one look at the pretty, little blonde next door and I knew she was something special. Don’t ask me how. I just did.

-She’s just a girl. Just a girl. A girl I was going to marry one day.

-Sierra Sullivan. My best friend. My first kiss. If I had my way, my first and last everything.

Jeremy Banks first meets Sierra Sullivan the summer when he is 8 yrs. old. She is his new neighbor & they quickly become the best of friends. Through the years they grow even closer & are inseparable. Over time they both start to develop feelings that are more than friendship but are afraid to voice them. They are both concerned their feelings are one sided, so neither one makes a move. Their friendship is everything to them & they are both scared to lose that. They both get frustrated being in the friend zone & eventually confess their feelings. This is such a beautiful love story. This man is absolutely stunning in the way he loves this woman. He is what mother’s hope their daughter’s will one day find & what fathers wish for their little girls. He is major swoon worthy & such a genuine man with a heart of gold! Jeremy is my favorite of all of Tessa’s men! Hands down stole my heart! Can’t wait for Ava’s story! 😀

-How could I ever want anything more than this man?

-Every day I wake up, I’m thankful you’re mine. Every night when I go to sleep, I pray that you always will be.

-Sierra was mine. She always had been. Always would be.

Every day I wake up, I’m thankful you’re mine. Every night when I go to sleep, I pray that you always will be.

Ever since reading IGNITE, I’ve always wanted to get Jeremy and Sierra’s complete story. Although they were secondary characters, they along with their daughter, Ava, always touched my heart. I can say after having read this book, that it is well worth the wait. And I dare say that Jeremy is my new favorite book boyfriend in this series. He may not be an alpha male but, Jeremy is definitely a man most women dream of spending the rest of their lives with.

Sierra and Jeremy met when they were just eight years old, when her family moved into the house next door to him. From the moment they meet there was an instant connection. They became best friends who were inseparable.

This was such a sweet and steamy friends to lovers story. Although it is clear from the get go that these two fell in love at first sight, it was more of a puppy love that grew into something so beautiful and that was sure to stand the test of time.

There is very little angst because Jeremy and Sierra are two normal people who don’t really play head games. Usually I crave the angst but the fact that there was only a minimal amount just seemed appropriate for their story. They were just one of the lucky ones who got to meet their soul mate at such an early age.

We do get a lot of Lexi and Jace towards the end but I had already read their book and knew what happens for them. It was nice to have them in the story but mainly I loved getting to spend time with the sweet couple who prove that being comfortable with your partner doesn’t mean that the relationship lacks steam. They had that in spades!!

I loved how Jeremy would do anything to protect their love. He is definitely the best hero Tessa has created by far!! It was wonderful to get to see their love blossom and their family grow. I love little Ava, and hope that some day she gets her own book. The ending was absolutely perfect. It left me very satisfied with how it all ends up for Jeremy and Sierra.

If you haven’t read the Explosive series, it is definitely one that you should add to your TBRs.
