This series holds a very special place in my heart. I read it way back in early 2013 and I fell in love with Gabby and Bradley. I devoured this series and when I saw that a fifth book was in the works, I was so anxious to get my hands on it. Sadly, it didn’t get published as soon as I had hoped. There was even a time when the author announced she would not be writing the final book. Well I had the honor of meeting J.B. McGee at an author signing last October, where I had the biggest fangirl moment with her in the hotel lobby. She was actually flattered by my response to meeting her. She seriously is the most modest and down to earth person you could ever meet. She made my day when she announced that she decided to write the last book after all and it was close to being completed!! I am so very grateful to her for giving me the ARC!

Even though almost three years have passed since I read the books, I had no problems picking up where the last book left off. At first I was upset because the story starts off surrounding around Gabby’s older sister, Sam, and the dilemma she finds herself in the middle of. I was expecting this book to be all about Gabby and Bradley. Then as the story progressed, I actually became so engrossed with Sam’s storyline, that I found it hard to put this book down. But don’t worry, the story switches between Sam and her drama back to Gabby & Bradley. So we get to see how married life is going for those two.

Sam is dating Ryan Adams, who is an ER resident, just like her. But she also finds herself insanely attracted to his younger brother, Joe. Joe is 100% crazy about her and is trying his best to make her admit she shares the same feelings. Sam, struggles with her conscience and also thinks that the right man to be with is Ryan. She thinks Joe is a player and even though he makes her heart race and her body tingle, which doesn’t happen with Ryan, Sam believes Joe would only end up breaking her heart in the end. Yes, this is kind of a love triangle, even though it is quite obvious who the right man is and I need to make it clear, there isn’t any cheating involved.

The angst kept me on the edge of my seat. I wondered how long it would take for Sam to give in to her heart and would she end up with the right guy. Also there was the issue with her father trying to get back in her life. He had really killed their relationship so many years ago when he physically abused her younger sister and eventually ended up deserting the family. Even though Gabby was willing to forgive him and let him into her life, Sam struggled with being able to forgive him.

We get a lot of WTF??!!! revelations in this book and that’s what made this all the more enjoyable because it wasn’t so predictable.

Gabby and Bradley have a very charmed life for the most part. There are only a couple of minor speedbumps along the way but in the end they do get the HEA they truly deserve. I loved how it all ends for everyone in the epilogue and, ok, maybe I am a little happy that Ian and Veronica got their HEA too! If you read this series, you would know those two caused serious drama for Bradley and Gabby, but in this book they’ve obviously done a lot of growing up and have become likeable characters.

I have enjoyed the entire journey with these characters and would recommend it if you love angst and don’t mind if the steam factor is not off the charts. Although I will say in this last book, the author definitely kicked the schmexy up a notch!!

Royal continues to struggle with his demons, but we get some beautiful moments, & some seriously smoking hot sex scenes. I really enjoyed this book & would love books for Jax, Blaine, & Mark too! 😀

Jeremy is my favorite of all of Tessa’s men! Hands down stole my heart! Can’t wait for Ava’s story! 😀

Ever since reading IGNITE, I’ve always wanted to get Jeremy and Sierra’s complete story. Although they were secondary characters, they along with their daughter, Ava, always touched my heart. I can say after having read this book, that it is well worth the wait. And I dare say that Jeremy is my new favorite book boyfriend in this series. He may not be an alpha male but, Jeremy is definitely a man most women dream of spending the rest of their lives with.

Sierra and Jeremy met when they were just eight years old, when her family moved into the house next door to him. From the moment they meet there was an instant connection. They became best friends who were inseparable.

This was such a sweet and steamy friends to lovers story. Although it is clear from the get go that these two fell in love at first sight, it was more of a puppy love that grew into something so beautiful and that was sure to stand the test of time.

There is very little angst because Jeremy and Sierra are two normal people who don’t really play head games. Usually I crave the angst but the fact that there was only a minimal amount just seemed appropriate for their story. They were just one of the lucky ones who got to meet their soul mate at such an early age.

We do get a lot of Lexi and Jace towards the end but I had already read their book and knew what happens for them. It was nice to have them in the story but mainly I loved getting to spend time with the sweet couple who prove that being comfortable with your partner doesn’t mean that the relationship lacks steam. They had that in spades!!

I loved how Jeremy would do anything to protect their love. He is definitely the best hero Tessa has created by far!! It was wonderful to get to see their love blossom and their family grow. I love little Ava, and hope that some day she gets her own book. The ending was absolutely perfect. It left me very satisfied with how it all ends up for Jeremy and Sierra.

If you haven’t read the Explosive series, it is definitely one that you should add to your TBRs.

REVIEW – SOLID (The Twin Duo, #2.5) by Jettie Woodruff

I’m writing this review slightly hungover after drinking a whole bottle of wine by myself, courtesy of the emotional roller coaster that is Solid. This novella is short but deadly. We get more Paxton, yumm!!! and of course the always present struggle of not knowing whether you want to slap him or do him.

By now I’m almost addicted to Jettie Woodruff’s writing style. The woman knows how to play with my emotions perfectly. She gives you equal amounts of love and pain in all her stories, and I will always be a sucker for that kind of fun in a book…

In Solid Gabriella is starting to remember more and every time she gets flashbacks about the past, she compares the very cruel Paxton from before, and the sexy and passionate husband she now loves and adores. It’s very hard for her to continue on with life as if nothing ever happened, knowing what a cruel bastard Paxton used to be to her. As a reader I struggled right along with her, he used to be so mean and callous, but the man can sure charm the pants off of any woman and in the end it’s impossible not to love him.

Gabriella is hiding a few secrets of her own and Paxton is starting to get nervous because he can feel that something is not quite right with his wife. Paxton has never felt as happy and whole as he feels now but he is tired of always having the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I love how the author keeps you always guessing until the very end, this made me nervous but I honestly crave that kind of angst when reading a book, which is why this series is perfect for me.

This is a story about a very flawed couple. They are very dysfunctional and nothing about their marriage is conventional but they are truly passionate about their family and their love has proven to get even stronger under the worst of situations. If you are a fan of The Twin Duo Series, reading this novella will feel like getting an awesome Christmas present, because it has everything we have come to love about these characters and so much more. I will be purchasing a few of these novellas as gifts to some of my friends. I know they will love to get a little piece of Paxton, perhaps I’ll send the book with a bottle of wine as well, I KNOW they will need it.

In Solid Paxton & Gabriella Pierce are trying to give their marriage a chance. They both want their family to stay together, & want to build a relationship based on trust & love. We see Paxton fall hard for Gabby & I loved how gone he is over her. They are trying to start over, but letting go of the past is easier said than done, especially when Gabby keeps remembering things she’d rather forget. They still struggle with trust issues & honesty. They both can be a bit volatile, but in the end their love for one another trumps all the crazy, & they just work.

-I couldn’t fight it, him, this thing between us, none of it. I lost every freaking time. Every time.

We get some surprises & more answers from their past. We also get some seriously hot hot hot scenes. As usual Pax brings the sexy! I really enjoyed this whole series! It was full of angst, mystery & some crazy, but most important was the love & extreme passion! Look forward to reading more from this author! 😀

Cam and Adriano are so perfect together. They are each others weakness as well as each others strength. Reading their story was so entertaining and so hot, making this book the perfect winter read…

In this book Adriano and Cam are both trying to deal with their new identities; him as the new Mafia Boss and Cam as the daughter of the former Capo. The crime life is full of danger and threats for the both of them so they look for solace in each other’s arms. When they are between the sheets their love ignites , and keeps all the darkness away.

Cam is a very strong female character and I loved her for it. She was born to play the role next to her man as Capo, even if she had to defy him a few times. Her passionate personality drives Adriano crazy with love and sometimes with frustration, but no other woman can compare to his Cam. She owns him, heart and soul.

Adriano knows he needs to be ruthless in order to be the best boss he can be. He and Luca are running the new underground club and all the events with the previous owner have set in motion a very dangerous war where no one is safe and the two best friends, Adriano and Luca are willing to do everything to protect their loved ones.

Chapter after chapter Soraya Naomi delivers an action packed story where you barely have time to breathe. So many twists and turns, nothing about this novel was predictable. The writing style was so beautiful ,each word was bleeding intense emotion into the pages of this book, making you feel as if you were center stage to everything that was going on inside the story.

Most of all, I really loved the epilogue, because I’m not going to lie, there were a few times times that I had my doubts about whether Cam and Adriano were going to make it. The author really kept me guessing , but then she gifted the reader with a really beautiful ending that was the perfect seal for this very fervent couple.

I’m not usually one to love these Mafia themed books but Soraya Naomi has turned me into a big fan of the Chicago Syndicate series. Definitely a must read for those looking for both thrill and hot romance in a story.

Tillie Cole is truly one of the most talented writers out there today. She is one of the reasons why I started blogging. Every time a book of hers is due out, I find myself waiting on pins & needles. What I knew before going into this book was that it was going to mess with my emotions, and oh boy did it ever. I certainly shed a few tears reading about the Sweet Shy boy who finds his way out of the darkness with the help of a Beautiful Silent girl.

Levi Carillo is the youngest of the Carillo brothers and the one with the biggest heart. It would seem that he’s got everything going for him. He’s on the starting offensive line for his college football team, and usually voted MVP. He’s gorgeous, smart, and has a loving family, but the pain and guilt he feels over his mother’s death, has haunted him for the past six years. Levi is painfully shy and avoids social situations at all costs. He has felt like a lost soul, unable to move on with his life since the death of his mother. His brothers and family constantly worry about him, because he keeps himself so closed off from friends and normal college shenanigans.

Elsie Hall is a young woman who has not had it easy for most of her eighteen years of life. Her mother was disabled and also addicted to drugs. More often than not, her mother failed to provide the basics needed to keep them both safe, warm, and well nourished. They lived most of their years together being homeless and hungry. Through it all, Elsie never blamed her mother, and only held so much love in her heart for her instead. But circumstances cause Elsie to be separated from her mom and soon after being placed in a facility she learns of her mother’s untimely death. Not only does she find herself utterly alone but she crosses paths with a ruthless bully who causes her to live her life in silence and eventually she finds herself back out on the streets.

Elsie’s life will begin to change on the fateful night she is caught trying to steal Levi’s wallet from his locker. She ends up taking something that means the world to him and at first Levi is devastated but then he recalls the haunted look of the frail girl with the huge expressive eyes and he can’t help but feel true compassion for her. She manages to get away from him at first but eventually when she runs into him again she’s lucky to have Levi and his brothers come to her rescue.

While being nursed back to health at Austin & Lexi’s home, Levi and Elsie start to form a deep connection. Levi has never felt anything for a girl until Elsie. He has this strong need to protect and stand up for her. The once shy young man now has to find his voice to speak up for the girl who seems to be even more shy than he is. But there is a reason why she refuses to talk and when you get the whole story, it will be hard not to shed a tear for her. I also have to say that some of the poignant moments between Levi and Axel were so heartbreaking.

There is a bit of steam but it was so beautifully written. Every moment was filled with so much tenderness, I felt like my heart was about to burst. And I love how Levi handled Elsie with so much care, and was always encouraging her to embrace what makes her different and to follow her dreams.

I have a serious hatred for bullying and that is one of the major themes of this story and what is truly sad is that it doesn’t just happen in grade school or high school. It can happen to anyone, during any stage of life.

Levi hasn’t had any experience with girls yet. He’s extremely shy, and just isn’t comfortable around the opposite sex, until he meets a girl named Elsie Hall. Elsie is 18, & from Portland, Oregon. Her whole life has been one obstacle after another. She is homeless, cold, hungry & alone. She has nothing & is desperately trying to hold onto a shred of hope as she’s trying to survive while living on the streets.

Elsie’s hope comes in the form of a beautiful boy with an even more beautiful sweet soul. Levi shows her compassion & a kindness she’s never experienced before. I have loved this series so much, & been dying for Levi’s book! I ADORE ALL the Carillo brothers! SWOON SWOON SWOON X 3!!! Thank you Tillie Cole for writing Levi’s book. He is such a special, breathtakingly beautiful character. I enjoyed this book so much! It’s one that touches the heart & stays with you.

Kingsley welcomes Lily with open arms and they begin training and working together right away. Their dynamic is amazing. They have fun training and they balance each other perfectly, every time they are out on a job.

Six months after Kingsley took her in, she sees Marc again and it turns out he has very valuable information that can help her achieve her goal. So, Marc and Lily call a truce and they decide to work together but nothing else, nothing romantic can happen between them. But when they are together, shooting and sparring, the danger and adrenaline work as fuel that makes the sexual tension burn even deeper.

Marc wants Lily back and he is jealous of the close relationship she now has with Kingsley. Marc knows he broke her heart and even though he was trying to protect her by leaving her, his feelings for her only grew stronger in the time that they were apart. Can he deal with all the old feelings he has for her? He wants to protect her fiercely but he also knows she is very strong and that she is nothing if not a mercenary just like him or even better. Her strength is what he loves most about her but he struggles with the fear of her getting hurt and that throws off his whole game.

Lily knows how much both Mark and Kingsley love her but she’s discovering how she must deal with each men individually. She adores Kingsley in a brotherly way and Marc is the man she loves and yet she wants to beat the crap out of him on a daily basis. Both guys are very important to her. They have become her only family and she hopes that together the three of them will be able to avenge her sister’s death. But the question remains, will Lily be able to pull the trigger when she comes face to face with the Russian Mafia Monster that has been haunting her dreams?

Never a dull moment when reading a Stylo Fatôme book and this one was packed with action on top of HOT romance, making it a very entertaining series. I loved the development of the relationship between Marc and Lily, two individuals that can’t do hearts and flowers but that they are highly intense and passionate about each other.

I must admit that my favorite thing about this book was Kingsley . This British mercenary was so sexy and with a larger than life personality. I really think he deserves his own book. He is so funny and charming. He is one of those characters that makes you want to materialize inside the book, if only for just one minute and do wicked things with him. He added so much more depth to the story. He became more than a secondary character and truly stole a big chunk of my heart. I really hope to read his book one day…

Amazing read, I highly recommend series. Gripping and very steamy story, that I’m sure will become a favorite to everyone who reads it.

Best Laid Plans is probably one of the coolest books I’ve ever read. It was almost like watching one of those big budget action films. Every chapter comes packed with hot and electrifying thrills. Stylo Fatôme held me tightly by the throat with this story and the best part is, that I really liked it.

Lily was such a kick ass heroine. She has so many of the qualities I enjoy in a female character. She was strong, smart, funny and capable of doing anything and everything just as good, if not better than any man.

Then we have Marc, and well… What can I say about this sexy, rugged, alpha male? I can probably go on all night about how captivating he is. But together they are just the prefect duo. If there was a best couple in a book award, it would definitely go to them.

Completely entertaining from beginning to end, this is the first book in this series. Out Of Plans (The Mercenaries, #2) releases Dec. 15th, 2015. Do yourselves a favor and add these books to your TBR’s TODAY!!! You really don’t want to miss these…

My body surged with awareness, skin prickling with a knowledge that the person touching me and pressing against me was the one person who was supposed to.

This is book seven in the Forbidden Men series and actually can be read as a stand-alone. Having only read book one, Price Of A Kiss, I was able to follow the story just fine even though there were several secondary characters whom I haven’t met before. What I can say is that after reading this book I am SERIOUSLY going to find the time to read this entire series!! I definitely need to get to Pick’s story because he kind of stole my heart along with Asher.

Remy Curran is a young woman with serious musical talents. She can sing, write music, and play several instruments. She has a shot at becoming the new drummer for one of her favorite local bands, Non-Castrato. They recently lost their drummer and are holding open auditions. But when she goes to try out for the band, she is quickly shot down simply for being a woman. She is so enraged that with the help of her bestie, who is a makeup artist, she goes back the next day in disguise as a dude. This reminded me of a couple of movies I’ve seen in the past and I was excited to dive right into the story.

Of course, she ends up impressing the crap out of the band and becomes their new drummer. Her plan was to reveal her identity as soon as she won the spot as drummer but when the exciting news is dropped about an upcoming gig, she decides to go along with her charade for a while longer.

Remy had one problem she didn’t count on, that she’d end up falling in love with the lead singer, Asher Hart. She had a crush on him before she joined the band, but after she got to know him, Remy was falling in love with the person he was on the inside. They become fast friends and early on Remy is labeled as gay because she’s caught ogling Asher on many occasions. Asher doesn’t have any homophobic tendencies and actually enjoys the friendship he has formed with Remy.

Asher hasn’t had a lot of meaningful relationships in his life and his childhood was truly horrific. His mother was an abusive addict who never let him forget that she wished he was dead and his father was just as horrible and is in jail for murder. But lately Asher has been feeling lonely and is craving the love of one special woman. He’s surrounded by all of his friends who have amazing relationships and he can’t help but want what they have. He doesn’t think he is capable or worthy enough to have true love or a family that cares for him, even though his half brother, Pick, tries so hard to bond with him. I found some of their moments to be really heart warming and I honestly fell in love with Pick.

As time keeps going by, Remy is having an inner struggle with herself. She knows that she is falling in love with Asher and that once he finds out the truth, she very well may lose him forever. He’s opened up to her about so many things that he has never told anyone before. She has also learned that he had seen her months ago, performing karaoke in the bar he works at, and that he actually become infatuated with the beautiful girl in a tight Incubus t-shirt.

Even though some aspects of the story were over the top and hard to believe, I really did love this one. I was able to suspend disbelief and really just fell in love. I struggled a bit in the beginning as I thought it started off a little slow but once I got into it, it was seriously hard to put down. I was really debating on whether to fore-go sleep last night because I just couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out for Remy and Asher!

I honestly loved this and do highly recommend it! I will definitely be making some time to read all the books that I have missed out on in this series.

And just like the first time they met, their connection is the only real thing that can help them find their way. When they are together the feelings get out of control, taking hold of their hearts and leaving them both helpless against the passion and the love that is between them.

Thia is only eighteen but she’s definitely an old soul. Someone who has been through a lot and has had to learn to grow a thick skin in order to survive. She’s always known she belongs to Bear, this love she’s always felt for him defines her. She’s very clear about who he is. Nothing about their connection is rainbows and flowers but she loves and accepts him for exactly the lawless man he is.

Bear has a hard time dealing with the beauty Thia brings into his life. She’s the only thing that matters in his dark world right now. King and Ray are also there to help him but Bear’s past is coming back to haunt him and the men who once represented his family are now looking for him to end his life.

T.M Frazier once again delivers a gripping story that will keep you entertained until the end. This dark tale delivers a beautiful and flawed love story that ended with one crazy cliffhanger. So I’ll be biting my nails while waiting for the next book…

Love. It was the only kind of torture I wasn’t familiar with. I was quickly learning it was the most painful kind of them all.

Ever since I read KING, I have had a major crush going on for Bear. Something about him just drew me in. I fell in love with the SEXY AS HELL, BADASS BIKER, and I normally DESPISE the term OLD LADY, but I definitely wouldn’t mind being Bear’s Old Lady!! I’m so happy that he gets his own set of books and that I was lucky enough to be given an ARC!

Thia Andrews is a young woman who didn’t have the most conventional family life. She had to grow up pretty quick at the tender age of eleven when her brother died and her parents simply stopped functioning, especially her mother. She had to pick up the slack at home by helping out on the family orange grove and working a second job at the local Stop-N-Shop. It is there that she crosses paths with the BEAUTIFUL but dangerous Bear, aka Abel. She is instantly enamored with him and Bear is touched by the little girl with the BIG attitude. He gives her his ring and tells her to seek him out if ever she finds herself in trouble.

Seven years later, Thia is in a whole heap of trouble and searches out Bear. Let’s just say that her nightmare only just began at home, but is taken to a whole other level while in search of the man whom she thinks will be her savior.

If you read Tyrant, you know what happens to Bear, and he’s currently gone off the grid. He’s left the Beach Bastard MC, which has always given his life purpose. Bear has lost his way and he might even have lost his soul. Until one day when King summons him back to help Thia, who was delivered to his home, beaten and in shock. As soon as he sees her, it’s like something sparks life back into his heart. He feels a strong need to protect and claim Thia.

Thia can’t help but feel the same strong connection to Bear as well. She has always known that she belonged to him from the moment they met all those years ago. She impresses Bear with her defiant and strong willed attitude, but at the same time she is filled with a child like exuberance that just knocks him in one fell swoop. They take things to the physical level pretty quick and let me just say I might have been wiping the drool off my mouth and also wishing to trade places with lucky Thia.

While Bear tries to help Ti out of the jam she found herself in, they have the Beach Bastards and his no good, piece of shit father to deal with as well. Bear has some pretty big decisions to make when it comes to keeping the woman that he has fallen in love with safe.

This one ends on a HUGE CLIFFY, and it’s making me chomp at the bit to get my hands on SOULLESS to see how it all ends for Bear, Thia, and the rest of the gang. This is definitely a book that is not to be missed!

Bear is in his own little world of self destruction when he gets a call from his best friend telling him he needs to come home to deal with an issue. This issue is a woman named Thia Andrews. Thia met Bear when she was 10 & he was 21. Their brief encounter always stayed with her. Bear made a huge impact on her, so when her life falls apart & she has nowhere left to turn, she goes looking for Bear. Instead of finding Bear, she finds trouble. When Bear realizes this is the little girl he hasn’t seen in seven years, he’s suspicious of her & her intentions. She needs his help & protection and he feels drawn to her from the moment he lays eyes on her again.

-God damn she was beautiful. And she was mine.

Bear instantly feels very possessive of Thia. He is having feelings that he’s never had toward a woman, & battling his want & need for her. They’ve had this intense connection since the moment they met, & it’s still there. There is danger & excitement and both Bear & Thia are just trying to survive. As they spend more time together they realize they have something worth fighting for & holding on to, but the MC & the law won’t let them be. We get an explosive ending & I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! 😀
