I really don’t want to say much because I love the element of mystery in this story. It’s something this author is a master at; she always keeps you guessing and you can’t ever imagine what is going to happen next, and I love that about her books.

Nox’s past is a mystery and that is something he’s trying really hard to keep in the shadows, and away from Charli. But the past turns out to be the one thing that links them together after all.

Their strong chemistry keeps growing, and as they discover more about each other, they realize that what’s important is who they are in the privacy of their relationship and away from the prying eyes of the world. But money and blood will threaten to destroy everything they have and push them apart. Will those against them succeed?

Cole had been watching the brunette for the better part of three innings.

They feel a strong connection, but both decide a long distance relationship wouldn’t work. As they are apart they both miss each other terribly. This is the first time Lucas has wanted something more with a woman. Lucas makes the decision to pursue her & go after what he wants, but that’s easier said than done. He’s absolutely obsessed with her, & they both fall hard for one another, but when he lets his tragic past & fears dictate his future, & is unwilling to compromise this causes issues for the couple. Lawry is a strong, independent woman who won’t settle for anything less than what she deserves & she wants the fairytale! This was a fabulous love story I really enjoyed & I look forward to Oliver & Porter’s books up next! 😀

Elle Kennedy definitely has another HIT on her hands with this one.  The <i>OFF CAMPUS</i> series delivers the <b>HOTTEST</b> Hockey Players, panty melting scenes, and laugh out loud moments as well. Each guy is pretty cocky and gorgeous, but never do they come off as narcissistic pricks.

 

Dean Di Laurentis is a serious <b>PLAYER</b>. He enjoys sex and is a serious exhibitionist as well.  He also doesn’t have any desire to be in a serious relationship with any woman and he always makes his intentions clear with every girl he hooks up with. The one time he attempted to be in a relationship ended disastrously and several years later he is still haunted by the past.

 

Allie Hayes is Hannah’s best friend and roommate. Hannah is Garrett’s girlfriend and I’m sure none of you have forgotten <i>THE DEAL</i>. That book was on my top ten of 2015 list. Allie has just broken up with her boyfriend of the past three years and is feeling vulnerable. She wants a clean break from him but he isn’t willing to give up on her. So in order to avoid her ex, she spends the night at Garrett’s house, where as luck would have it, Dean happens to be.

 

Allie knows Dean and is fully aware of his reputation, which makes her immune to his charms. She isn’t like any of the girls he hooks up with. But after several shots of tequila and a couple of puffs from a joint, Allie finds herself waking up the next morning naked in Dean’s room, with a serious hangover, and a gloriously naked Dean as well.

 

The sex turned out to be mind-blowing for the both of them and after a ton of resistance from Allie, the two enter into an arrangement. They agree to have sex on a regular basis and to not see other people while doing so. But as they start to spend more time together, feelings begin to develop and pretty soon they question whether there might be something more than just sex between them.

We learn how life has been pretty unfair to Allie and how things aren’t always what they seem where Dean is concerned. He lets people think he’s just a pretty face with a limited vocabulary, but he’s destined for Harvard Law and it’s due to his academic prowess and not his family’s bank account. I found myself comparing Dean to Grayson from <i>The Friend Zone</i>, which only made him that much more lovable to me.

 

There were some angst filled moments, but they were quickly resolved and I wished that they had been drawn out just a bit longer. Expect to laugh your ass off at least a few times, especially during the bath tub scene with Winston.  The steamy scenes were seriously freaking <b>HAWT</b>!! Dean is pretty insatiable and I guarantee that you will either be taking a few cold showers, attacking your man, or spending some quality time with your Winstons.

 

This book releases on Jan 11th and I know you’re all going to fall in love with this story and Dean!!

Dean in love just stole my heart! Adored his sense of humor & there was so much more to him. He’s intelligent, caring, & of course HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I highly recommend this book!!! 😀

There was darkness in both of us. And light. I could not claim to have saved him. I could only say that the moment I answered that phone, we began to save each other. Over and over again, in big and small ways.

I think this is one of the rare times that I feel like this was an, “it’s me and not you”, deal over a book I finished reading. I saw so much love for this series and my friends were saying how much they loved this particular book, but I didn’t come away with that same feeling. I am sad. I tried. Maybe it was because I started this the night before going back to work, after having a two and a half week long vacation. Or maybe it’s because I had to put this book on hold a few days in order to read a Beta. In any case, I will say the writing is good and there were aspects of the story that I really did enjoy.

This book picks up where the first one left off. Annie’s past has come back with a vengeance. We get a lot of serious drama and action right from the get go. She and Dylan wind up in the hospital, but things seem to be looking up for the two since a threat has been dealt with. Little do they know there’s an even bigger problem awaiting them.

There were moments I found myself bored and other times I was just seriously tired of all the push and pull going on between Dylan and Annie. Both would on separate occasions feel this need to push the other away and in the next breath they were clinging on to each other for dear life. The sex was incredibly steamy, but at times I wondered was this all they had going for them? They even questioned that themselves.

What I really enjoyed, were the moments Dylan shared with his father. There was so much pain between them, but with help from Annie, Dylan was able to open up little by little to Ben. I was happy that he got his closure there because he was holding on to so much hurt from the past, feeling like his brother and father abandoned him when he needed them the most. I even enjoyed the bits between Dylan and his brother, Max.

Overall it’s not a bad story. I think if I had chosen to read this at another time, I may have loved it more. I would say to give this a go and not to let my review affect your decision to read this.

 Excerpt 

 I look around because the hair on the back of my neck prickles. “We need to get out of here.” Someone is here, watching, listening, and now it’s time to do what I do best. “I’ve missed you.” I smile while I use the tip of my finger to trace his jawline.

Mark’s eyes shift over my head as he pulls me flush against his body. We’re both facing exits. “I’ve missed you more,” he plays along.

This might just work. He’s on alert as well and senses something awry. His fingers splay across my lower back as he holds me close. “Maybe we should head back to my place so you can show me just how much.” I glance over his shoulder. His blonde hair falls in his eyes as he dips his head into my neck. I know the move, but a shiver runs down my spine.

“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” I release a very low moan, which I didn’t give permission to escape. Mark’s lips glide across my skin.

I’m not sure he’s acting.

I’m not even sure that I am.

Then Mark reminds me this is serious. “There are two guys behind you.” His voice is low enough that only I can hear him. To anyone passing, we’re two lovers reacquainting ourselves. “One at my two o’clock, and the other is out of my view.”

“One just passed behind you twice. I think going toward my exit is best.” I snuggle closer. “I’m ready when you are.” The double meaning is meant for anyone to hear, but Mark should know it means I’m ready to disappear. “You’ll have to keep up, though.”

He leans back while cupping my face. His lips hover over mine. “I don’t have any problems keeping you satisfied, princess.”

My pulse spikes. I know he can hear it, feel it, see in my eyes that I’m affected. My breaths are shallow as his hands slowly make their way down my arms.

“Arrogant prick,” I mutter.

I can tell he’d be an incredible lover. His overconfidence would only play to my benefit. We’re both cut from the same cloth, ready to fight for dominance. He’d win, though. I can see it in his eyes. There would be no battle, Mark has already won. Right now, he controls me. He determines whether we kiss, what it’ll be like, and for the first time in my life—I surrender.

His lips come closer. “They’re closing in,” he whispers, his eyes locked on me. “Charlie?” he asks.

“What?” My voice is barely audible.

“This will happen again when we don’t have to fight off people, and then you’ll be mine.”

I don’t have time to reply. His lips crash down on mine as he spins me around so he leads our exit. The second our mouths collide, my brain disconnects. My fingers tangle in his hair, grabbing it to pull him close. Mark’s hands hold my face to his and he continues to guide me. I know we’re moving but I have no idea to where. In this instant, I don’t care. Never has someone made me feel so desperate for them. I never lose control, never feel so lost, yet right now, I am. I’m raw, exposed, and completely vulnerable.
