SYNOPSIS
A standalone contemporary romance.
Forty-something Gracelyn Glock is living the dream.
No husband.
No retirement plan.
And since her self-imposed man-ban—no need to shave above her knees.
After a tragic accident, Gracelyn inherits her ten-year-old nephew. She signs a lease on a San Diego beach house and learns their neighbors for the summer are a sexy anatomy professor and his young daughter.
Professor Nathaniel Hunt has spent the last decade being a single dad … and not having sex.
So when he discovers Gracelyn has a peculiar outdoor stripping ritual, a million inappropriate thoughts fill his responsible mind.
When kisses are stolen, man-bans are broken, and summer comes to an end, will hearts stay in one piece and hope stay alive? Or will saying goodbye destroy everything?

Fortuity is truly the perfect weekend read. A story so beautifully written and so enjoyable that I can see myself reaching for it time, and time again in the future.
Gracelyn Glock is a forty-year-old woman that has experienced real loss in her life. The latest is losing her brother and sister-in-law in an accident and now she’s become the legal guardian for her ten-year-old nephew. In an effort to keep things as normal as possible for the boy she moves to a new state and is completely rearranging her life.
They move into an apartment on the beach where Gracelyn and Gabe will meet all their new charming neighbors. The next-door neighbor is the very handsome Nathaniel Hunt and his super cute, and smart ten-year-old daughter Morgan.
The four of them form an instant bond. But as each day goes by Gracelyn and Nate start a beautiful and honest romance that will change their lives forever.
Nate lost his wife when she gave birth to his daughter Morgan, and when his baby girl turned two Nate decided he wanted to give her the world, so they began traveling to many different countries for eight years, experiencing all the different cultures. Now it’s time to go home for Nate and Morgan but before they settle down they are in California and that’s where they will find a very big piece of their heart with Gracelyn and Gabe.
This story has the most amazing characters. We first meet Nathaniel in the “Transcend” books and I’m so happy that Jewel gave him his own story with the most beautiful ending. Just like the other books, this one is simply Transcendent, and I promise you that after you read it you will always remember it and forever love it.

I had no idea we were coming to San Diego so this woman could stitch up every single one of my wounds, kiss every scar, and remind my heart that it has an infinite capacity to love.
FINALLY, we get a happy ending for one of Jewel E. Ann’s most beloved Heroes—Nathaniel Hunt. If you’ve read the first two books in the ”Transcend” series then you know and love this beautiful character. If you haven’t read them, now is a good time to get to this EPIC story. I have deep love and admiration for Jewel’s writing and am not exaggerating when I say that I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve when she releases a new book. ”FORTUITY” was a book that HAD to be written! Nate has suffered more than his share of devastating loss. In this last installment of the series we learn that it’s never too late to find true love.
I love it when authors take a chance and write about romances between characters over the age of forty. Nate and Gracelyn’s journey is a slow burn. I was beginning to think that their story would be angst-free and a steady road to an HEA but get ready to have your hearts and minds put through the wringer through the last 35-40 % of the story. They’re in what seems to be an impossible situation that has no room for compromises. It’s torture but when you get to the end, you’ll hopefully love this book as much as I do.
Here are my overall ratings:
Hero: 5
Heroine: 5
Plot: 5
Angst: 4.5
Steam: 4.5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5
