REVIEW – UNBREAKABLE (Cloverleigh Farms, #4) by Melanie Harlow

SYNOPSIS

In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa.

Or the sixth, seventh, and eighth.

But my shame over the public meltdown that resulted was nothing compared to being abandoned by my husband of fifteen years for a much younger woman—and did I mention she’s pregnant?

For the sake of my children and my pride, I packed up and headed for my childhood home and the small town where I grew up. Cloverleigh Farms would be the perfect place for a fresh start.

Falling for Henry DeSantis wasn’t part of the plan.

Sure, he’s easy on the eyes and hard in the bedroom (also the hallway, the bathtub, and on top of his desk), but he’s newly divorced too, and things between us are moving so fast I’m afraid neither one of us has had enough time to heal. Not to mention the fact that I’m a single mom now—my kids have to come first.

But Henry makes me feel beautiful and sexy and wanted and strong—I haven’t felt that way in years. We understand each other, and when I’m in his arms, I’m tempted to trust again. To love again. To let myself be loved without fear.
But deep down, I’m terrified.

Is this all too much, too soon? Or am I a fool to let a second chance at happily ever after pass me by?

I’d moved here to find peace and security, to feel grounded and safe and strong, to create a haven for myself and my children, to piece my heart back together again and keep it protected. Instead, I’d fallen in love. I felt exposed and raw and vulnerable, and I hated myself for it.

The ”Cloverleigh Farms” series keeps leaving me wanting more. I’ve enjoyed getting swept up in each Sawyer sister’s whirlwind romance. ”UNBREAKABLE” is the oldest Sawyer sister, Sylvia’s story. She wasn’t a huge presence in the previous books, because she was the only sibling that didn’t live near Cloverleigh Farms, but now she and her two children have come home to start a new life. Her failed marriage has left her a bit insecure but she’s determined to give her children a loving and stable environment. Never in a million years did she expect that moving back home would also bring a once in a lifetime love.

Henry DeSantis works for the Sawyers on Cloverleigh Farms. He’s also recently divorced. Henry spends all of his waking hours working in the vineyards. He prefers the solitude because it allows him to avoid having to explain to everyone why his marriage of ten years fell apart. On paper, this character seems a bit depressing and one dimensional, but as soon as you put Henry and Sylvia in a scene together, the story comes alive! Their chemistry is insane and their steamy scenes will get your heart racing. I was rooting for these two to overcome the emotional baggage and other obstacles that stood between them.
