REVIEW – CHANDLER (Fixed #5) by Laurelin Paige

chandler-final

SYNOPSIS:

I’m good in a boardroom, but I’m better in the bedroom. Much better. I can charm the skirt off any woman in one encounter. I’ll even give her an orgasm before I put her in a cab. Or three. No more or she’ll start making plans for the future and I’m not into that.

Or I wasn’t until Genevieve Fasbender. She’s the first woman in five years that I want to spend the whole night with. And she’s the first woman who’s told me I’m not what she wants in a lover, even after multiple O’s. She’s brash and bold and stubborn as hell, and she doesn’t believe it’s possible to satisfy her.

But I’m up for the challenge.

And after an incident in my brother’s office closet―a downright dirty incident―I think I’m just the guy to deliver.

Genevieve Fasbender will never know what’s coming.

Chandler is a full-length standalone novel.

Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Chandler Pierce is a charming, gorgeous man living in New York. He turned 24 a few months ago & recently got his trust fund. He’s single & likes to have a good time, & is often on all the gossip sites portrayed as a filthy rich playboy. His reputation is that he’s spoiled & has lived a privileged life and had everything handed to him. While there is some truth to that, Chandler wants to be taken more seriously by his older brother Hudson. They own Pierce Industries together, & Chandler wants to be more involved with the company, & take on a bigger role in their business. So when Hudson needs to stay home with his new twins & asks Chandler to step in for him at a charity gala to talk with some business associates, he’s up for the challenge.

Chandler is to be all about business & making connections at this gala, but when he locks eyes with a stunning brunette from across the room, he can’t think about anything but finding out more about this woman. This beautiful, ambitious woman is Genevieve Fasbender. She lives in London & her father is the head of a well-known successful company called Accelecom. Genevieve is focused on earning her place at the company. The most important thing to her is her career & she feels she’s been overlooked & treated differently in the workplace because of her gender.

When Genevieve meets the smooth-talking irresistible Chandler, she decides she could use a bit of fun, & she’s also curious if Chandler can live up to his reputation in the bedroom. She doesn’t have time for relationships & Chandler only does one night stands, so they are the perfect match for a night of no strings pleasure.

-She’s just so…captivating.

-There’s something about her. Something that separates her from the crowd.

Genevieve won’t ever rely on any man, but she does find herself wanting more of Chandler. Chandler can’t get enough of Genevieve, and has never desired a woman this much. He loves how feisty she is & enjoys spending time with her. She’s an independent, intelligent woman who knows what she wants. As Chandler begins to fall for her, some drama & trust issues arise between these two. They have to decide if they want more with each other & figure where they fit into each other’s lives. I really enjoyed getting Chandler’s story & loved getting more of Hudson & Alayna.

Chandler is the youngest of the Pierce siblings. Always living in the shadows of his older brother Hudson. His family doesn’t have much faith in him and for that reason, he basically holds a glorified title at Pierce Industries. Chandler spends most of his time wooing different women and sticks to his motto of “one and done”. In his earlier days, he fell in love too easily and ended up with nothing to show for it but a broken heart. His cavalier playboy attitude is about to be challenged by a beautiful and intriguing woman named Genevieve

14372101_1804401216506540_1864987340624206589_o

Chandler and Genevieve meet at a fundraising gala. Since Hudson was unable to attend, Chandler goes in his place and it only takes a second for Genevieve to capture his attention. The two end up having a steamy encounter later that evening and what should have been a one-night stand soon turns into a bit of an obsession for Chandler. Days have gone by and he just can’t get the woman out of his mind. As luck would have it, she ends up being the daughter of a potential business partner and the two cross paths at the offices of Pierce Industries.

These two play a game of cat and mouse for a while. Chandler is completely thrown by Genevieve’s lack of enthusiasm with regards to their night together. He also starts having very naughty fantasies about her that he’s never had before. It seems as though Chandler has a possible BDSM fetish that only Genevieve awakens in him.

The two dabble a bit with spankings and role playing which although kind of hot also seemed a little awkward at times. It was odd that Chandler never had the desire to spank or tie a woman up until he met Genevieve and somehow he just had a sixth sense that she was into that sort of kink.

They start to develop real feelings for each other but when Hudson and Laynie fill Chandler’s head with some suspicions they have of Genevieve, will doubt tear the couple apart?

Excerpt:

Five minutes later, the valet pulls up with my car. Genevieve raises an eyebrow. “A Bugatti?”

I’m so impressed she can name the model that I practically jizz in my pants. “It’s the best.”

She shakes her head, and I swear I hear her mutter something about rich men and their toys, but I don’t respond, too occupied with inspecting my car and then passing the attendant the cash I promised him earlier for returning my vehicle in perfect condition.

I slide into the driver’s seat, and when I look over at Genevieve as she buckles her seatbelt, a wave of pure, unadulterated lust rolls through me. I’m very aware that I’ve trapped her, that she’s now defenseless to my whims. Not that I’d take advantage, but goddamn, to think that I could…

I nearly shiver at my own vile thoughts.

Glad she can’t know what I’m thinking, I flash her a smile. “So. Where am I taking you?”

“I’m staying at the Park Hyatt on 57th Street.”

“Fancy.” The Park Hyatt is one of the nicest luxury hotels in New York. That means this girl has money, which isn’t a bad thing. Just, the swell of my wallet in my back pocket is usually one of my better attributes. If wealth doesn’t attract her, I hope I’m not shit out of luck when it comes to getting an invitation up to her room.

Apparently, I’m transparent because she asks, “Not impressed?”

“Quite the opposite. I’m worried you won’t have a reason to be impressed with me.” Now I’m the one who can’t believe how honest I’m being.

“It’s a valid worry,” she says after a beat, and I can’t tell if she’s teasing or being blunt. Can’t tell if I should prepare for gut-wrenching disappointment or dive into another round of sexy banter.

I concentrate on my driving instead, speeding up before slipping expertly into a tight opening in the adjacent lane.

I’ll admit I’m showing off.

“Smashing,” she says with a tone that vibrates through my body like I’m a tuning fork.

Then, abruptly, she laughs, and I turn my head toward her, alarmed at the source of her amusement.

“I still can’t believe you drive a Bugatti in the city. I can’t decide if that makes you brilliant or as mad as a bag of ferrets.”

“Brilliant, of course.” Though, with her so close, I feel more like I’m going crazy. “What can I say? I like things that are fast.”

“Of course you do.”

“You don’t?” I raise a questioning brow. “Maybe you don’t understand how awesome fast can be.” I put my foot on the gas and race down the next block to prove my point.

The traffic light turns red as I approach the intersection, and I ease the brakes. “See? Fast is fun.”

“The problem with fast is it’s over too quickly.”

Is that innuendo? Her gaze pierces into me, and the air around us feels tight and charged, and I’m suddenly certain that I will die if I don’t get to taste her tonight.

Even if she didn’t mean anything more when she made her statement, I certainly do when I say, “Don’t worry. I know when to take my time.”

She exhales, slowly, and I swear I can feel it. As though she’s already in my arms and her breath is grazing every inch of my bare skin. No matter what happens after this, I know she at least feels this…this attraction. Or whatever it is.

Her voice is low and sultry when she replies. “You’re not talking about cars anymore. But do you really take your time? I’d guess you bolt the minute you’re finished.” She’s so blunt, so direct, and I don’t know if it’s a her thing or an English thing, but I like it.

I also like this conversation we’re having. Because we’re drawing the lines, and that means the potential for tonight is high. So I answer with a nod, making sure she understands that she’s correct in thinking I’ll bolt. Because I will.

REVIEW – DARKEST BEFORE DAWN by Stevie J Cole

darket-before-dawn-ebookcover

SYNOPSIS:

Sixty-four days in captivity. Sixty-four days to lose yourself—or find yourself.

I’m Ava Donovan. I was abducted at the age of nineteen. I’m told I’m a survivor, but the truth is, I only survived because he saved me. Even when he kept me locked in that room—he saved me.

Constantly wondering when and how you will die, that does something to you. To your mind. But what do you do when it does something to your heart? What do you do when the man holding you captive seems just as broken as you are, when his mere presence becomes a comfort you crave—when you love him even though you shouldn’t?

You smile and tell yourself it’s okay because love has no morals.

Sixty-four days in captivity gave me a love most people will never have and my freedom took it all away

He’s following the rules, and if I am the one who makes him break those rules—well, isn’t that the type of thing romance stories are based on? Isn’t that what every woman dreams of? Having her love be something so special and pure that it can turn a beast into a man?

darkest-teaser3

Fans of dark reads will surely enjoy DARKEST BEFORE DAWN. I found Stevie J Cole’s writing in this one at times to be beautifully poetic. This story is quite gritty and often very hard to endure but ultimately it is about love, and how it defines us. Our need to be loved can sometimes drive us to do things we would never have imagined doing.

We are thrust right into a very intense and traumatizing moment for the Hero during the prologue. This event leaves a lasting impact on Max Carter’s life and ends up sending him down a very dark path. Years after the horrific night he lost both of his parents, Max is in the process of getting his life back on track. He’s no longer using drugs and has left his life of crime. Max goes to pay a visit to his little sister, Lila, and soon finds out that she has been missing for almost a week. When he goes to the police station to file a missing person report, he is told that his sister is a known drug addict and prostitute and that her case would be put at the bottom of the department’s list of priorities. Enraged by the lack of concern by law enforcement, Max decides to take matters into his own hands. He soon finds out that his sister was abducted and ultimately sold within the sex slave ring. Max comes face to face with his sister’s captor and now here’s where the story takes a bizarre turn, he has to then become the monster in order to find his sister.

darkest-teaser2large

Eighteen-year-old Ava Donovan was out with her boyfriend when she was abducted by two unsavory characters. She was then brought to some rundown looking house in the middle of nowhere and thrown into a dark and creepy basement. After about a week of being locked away in the basement with very little food or human interaction, Ava meets the man who will be her handler, the man who will play the ultimate mind games to get her ready to be sold as a sex slave, and that man is MAX CARTER!!!!! Our hero throws himself deep in the sex slave trade ring in hopes of finding his sister. He’s already been responsible for training numerous abducted women. They had all been prostitutes without any family ties but this time, it’s different with Ava. Ava comes from a very wealthy family with some rather unexpected ties that you’ll find out later in the story. Someone hired Max’s counterparts to murder Ava but they decided it would be more beneficial in the long run to sell her as a slave instead.

Max has reservations about going through with the plans to sell Ava since she is not like all the other girls and something about her calls to him. Ava also sees that there’s something deep in Max that she connects to and there’s also no denying that they both feel a strong physical attraction between them. As the two become more tightly bound to one another, Max realizes that there’s no way he can let anything happen to Ava but he still has the matter of finding his sister to deal with.

Things get seriously twisted and extremely bloody during the latter half of the story. Max and Ava will both go through more devastating turmoil. Will they be able to find an HEA when there is so much stacked up against them?

Olivia Hudson is a 17 yr. old living in California with her mother & is about to start her senior year of high school. She heads to Oregon to spend the summer with her dad & is separated from her two best friends Dustin & Emily for most of the summer. The three of them have been inseparable since middle school. In recent months Livvy’s relationship with Dustin has changed a bit. They sometimes mess around & it means more to Dustin than it does to Livvy. Livvy doesn’t want anything to ruin their friendship.

When Livvy returns home everything & everyone seems to have changed. Her best friend Em has gone wild, & something with Dustin is off. Then there’s the new boy that just moved in down the street, Ryan. She’d heard about Ryan & seen him in Instagram pictures, but he’s even hotter in person. Livvy needs to focus on graduating & getting into a good college, but suddenly all she has on the brain is boys…boys…boys! Two to be exact. Dustin is crazy about her & Ryan is making it clear he’s interested too. She goes from no prospects with guys to two gorgeous ones who are actually fighting over her.

As she’s caught up in this love triangle, secrets & betrayals are revealed, and suddenly Livvy doesn’t know who she can trust. Things aren’t always what they seem & her best friends that she considered her safe place become her enemies.

Livvy decides her senior year should be filled with endless possibilities & fun, and she isn’t going to let it pass her by. She makes new friends & after lusting over him for weeks decides to see where things go with Ryan. She’s so drawn to him. He’s sexy, confident, funny & sweet, but also confusing. She isn’t sure where they stand, but still finds herself wanting more. Livvy still feels torn about Dustin & Em and continues to second guess her decisions in this teenage story full of angst, drama, jealousy & raging hormones. ;)) I really enjoyed this book & love Monica Murphy’s writing. I can’t wait for the next book & also look forward to more of Tuttle & Amanda.

-“So fucking sexy.”

-“And all mine.”

-He makes me laugh and he makes me burn inside every time he touches me or kisses me. I like how I feel when I’m seen with him.

Excerpt:

“Liv! Finally you’re here.” She curls her arm around my shoulders and forces me to face Ryan, who’s still sitting on the edge of the bed with his legs spread in that way boys sit, wearing only swim trunks again. Does the guy ever wear actual clothes? “We’ve been waiting for you. Tell Ryan hello.”

“Hello,” I say in a monotone voice, incredibly uncomfortable from interrupting what was surely a private hookup moment. He smiles and rises to his feet, smoothing a hand over his rumpled hair, his biceps bulging with the movement. Hair Em was probably responsible for rumpling. “Hey, Livvy.”

Tingles race over my skin and I force myself to ignore the signs that I might be attracted to this boy who just had his tongue in my best friend’s mouth. I don’t even know him. It’s purely a physical thing, as in every single thing that makes him up physically, I find attractive.

And I shouldn’t. He doesn’t belong to me. He belongs to Em. I should be thinking about Dustin.

Not Ryan.

“I’m so glad you’re finally here.” Em turns toward me, and envelopes me in a warm hug, her mouth on my neck as she starts to speak again. “I’ve missed you.”

I hug her back, my gaze meeting Ryan’s as I say, “I’ve missed you too.”

He sends me a playful, rolling eyes look that I ignore.

Em kisses my neck and pulls away, her blue eyes bright, her cheeks flushed. She’s wearing a white lacy cover up over a black string bikini and her chin-length, gold-streaked bob is tucked behind her ears. She’s effortlessly gorgeous, all rosy from kissing a cute boy for who knows how long. “Now that you’re here the party can start.”

I laugh and shake my head. “Looks like it’s already been going for the last few days.”

Em rolls her eyes and lets go of me, heading for her dresser. “I was just biding my time until you showed up.”

“So I bring the party?” I tease, meeting Ryan’s gaze once more.

“You definitely bring something,” he tells me before pulling me into a tight hug. My chest presses against his, my arms going around his waist for the briefest moment before I release him and back far away.

He makes me nervous.

“Aw, I love that you guys are already hugging!” Em cries as she watches us.

Guilt swamps me but Ryan just smiles. “I’ll leave you girls alone.” He looks at me. “See you at the pool.”

And then he’s gone.

The air seems to cool the moment he’s le the room and

I go to stand next to Em, watching as she digs through the top drawer of her dresser. It’s an elaborate piece of furniture, cream-colored with an endless number of drawers, every one of them stuffed full of clothes. The one she’s digging through now is over flowing with lacy scraps of fabric. There are panties in every style and color, boy shorts and thongs and bikinis, some of it standard, most of it sexy.

Her underwear drawer is like Em in a nutshell.

“So how’s your summer been? Besides the partying and hanging out with the popular crowd? Have you done anything else?” I’m trying to make conversation but she’s hardly paying attention to me.

“It’s been so boring without you here,” she says, her head practically buried in that drawer.

I think she’s saying that to make me feel better. Not that she needs to. I’m a big girl. She’s allowed to have fun when I’m not around.

“What are you looking for?” I ask.
“A black lacy thong I bought last week.” She lifts her head and smiles at me. “I want to wear it tonight.”
“But aren’t we going swimming?”
Em blows out a frustrated breath. “Yeah, but I don’t want to forget. I want to wear it for…” Her voice drifts and she purses her lips.

“Ryan?”

She sighs and slams the drawer shut, turning to look at me. “Well, yeah. But it’s no big deal. We’re just friends.”

I raise a brow. “Is that what you call it? Because I hate to break it to you, but you were kissing him just a few minutes ago, and he had his hand on your boob.”

“So crude.” She nudges my shoulder with hers. “Voyeur.”

“Just stating facts. Facts I saw with my own eyes.” I pause, but she doesn’t say anything. “I don’t get why you can’t say that you like him and he likes you. What’s the big deal?”

“Because he refuses to make this a big deal so I can’t, okay? He told me straight up that we’re going to be just friends and that’s it.”

Synopsis:

I’m good in a boardroom, but I’m better in the bedroom. Much better. I can charm the skirt off any woman in one encounter. I’ll even give her an orgasm before I put her in a cab. Or three. No more or she’ll start making plans for the future and I’m not into that.

Or I wasn’t until Genevive Fasbender.

Genevive Fasbender will never know what’s coming.

LOCKED_AMAZON cover (1)

SYNOPSIS:

“ACE LOCKE JETS OFF TO SIN CITY WITH MYSTERY MAN”

Sorry, ladies—and fellas—Hollywood’s hottest action star, Ace Locke, is officially off the market!

The man on Locke’s arm has been identified as Dylan Prescott, the sexy new “it” model currently featured in the latest Calvin Klein ads. Sources tell TNZ the men met on the set of Locke’s upcoming action film Insurrection 2, and that “they only have eyes for each other.”
This is the first public gay relationship for Locke, who came out a year ago, and there has been much speculation on who would finally be the one to catch his eye.

According to multiple eyewitnesses, Locke whisked Prescott away on his private jet for a romantic weekend at Syn, the most exclusive hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. After pictures recently surfaced of the new couple, affectionately named PresLocke, it appears from the possessive way Locke keeps his new beau close that things are heating up.

The world is watching #PresLocke, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on this budding relationship!

Ace and Dylan’s story continues in Book Two of the Bestselling PresLocke Series.

Ace Locke & Dylan Prescott’s relationship is now public knowledge. After coming out about a year ago, this is Ace’s first relationship. The world knew Ace was gay, but now they had a visual to go with it. A stunning male model who is also Ace’s co-star in Insurrection 2.

LOCKED Teaser 2

Hollywood’s hottest action star is officially off the market, & everyone wants the details on this new couple. As Ace & Dylan return to L.A. to wrap up filming, things are intense & a bit difficult with the press hounding them relentlessly & trying to get a glimpse of their private moments. They are living life under a microscope & every part of Ace’s life is currently a disaster, except Dylan.

Ace’s personal life starts to impact his career, but his main focus is Dylan. As things get more serious between them, they really make each other their top priority. They are falling hard for one another & as false stories & lies are being told, they are very protective of each other, & what they are building together.

-There was no way I would ever get enough of this man. How was it possible that I could have him like this whenever I wanted him? That he could have me. I’d had no idea it could be this good.

-I still couldn’t get used to the fact that he was mine.

-“If you’re with me, I think I could take on anything.”

I really enjoyed this book! It was just as sexy as the last one, but packed with so much more emotion. This couples chemistry is on fire & I can’t wait for the next book!
