*****FOUR STARS*****

We’d only shared a single kiss, but he was right. Given the sparks that crackled when we were in the same room, we’d be incredible together. The chemistry, mixed with our mutual dislike of one other, would ignite like fireworks. We’d probably set the sheets on fire.

I love a good MC story and Devney Perry’s ”Tin Gypsy” series has the potential of being a good one. I found the plot development of ”GYPSY KING” to be a little too slow and to be honest, I didn’t think of this as a true MC book. The club hasn’t been in operation for over a year. They all decided to go legit and put an end to the Tin Gypsies. The story’s main focus was on the ”enemies-to-lovers” romance between the town’s new journalist, Bryce Ryan, and one of the top-ranking members of the retired MC, Dash Slater. I’d give this book a PG rating when it comes to the MC aspect. These men weren’t nearly as crass and dirty as the heroes from other books in this genre, but the murder mystery and the quest to figure out who the true killer was, did end up generating some pulse-pounding suspense towards the end.

The story concludes on a high note but it also left me a little confused with how some of the main characters dealt with the outcome of the intense showdown towards the end. We are left with so many unanswered questions, I felt a bit unsatisfied. Although this sets us up for more to come in the next installments. Overall, I would recommend this to die-hard Devney Perry fans.

REVIEW BLAST – LETTERS TO MOLLY (Maysen Jar Book 2) by Devney Perry

Molly Alcott didn’t expect
to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between
bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over
fifteen years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the
man she’ll never forget.

Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in
the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a wound. Each holds the
confession of the man who still owns Molly’s heart.

The letters are full of promise, hope and love, but truth be
told, Molly wishes she could unread them all.

Because the man who wrote these letters is not the one
sending them.

*****4.5 STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

My eyes fell shut, my breath stolen by the sensation of him filling the voids I’d ignored for so, so long. Here, in this place, everything made sense. Nothing was careless. Here, together, it was like going backward in time. We traveled to the days when those letters were being penned. To when happiness radiated around us.

”LETTERS TO MOLLY”is the bittersweet and angsty second chance romance between Molly and Finn Alcott, who you may remember from ”THE BIRTHDAY LIST”. They’re Poppy’s big brother and best-friend/sister-in-law, whose marital woes were just beginning as Poppy was finding new love. We are reunited with the couple who have been divorced for about six years. Molly and Finn have found a way to get past the animosity for the sake of their two children who they share custody of. It’s been six years since they ended their marriage. Irreparable damage has been inflicted but yet neither has been able to move on to new love. Everyone else can see the longing looks they cast each other’s way but these two are too stubborn to let go of the past.

After a night of movies with the kids and a little too much wine, Finn and Molly end up having an incredible night of sex, but the harsh light of day has them both backpedaling and declaring their night of lust a mistake. Soon after their night together, Molly starts to receive letters in her mailbox that Finn had written to her over the course of their relationship. The letters open up old wounds and begin to break down the walls that they each put up between them. There is also a mystery to solve as Finn isn’t the one sending the letters. Dread is all he feels because he knows that not every letter was written when he and Molly were in a good place.

Have these two hurt each other so much that there’s no hope for forgiveness and a second chance? When tragedy strikes the Alcott family again, will it tear them apart forever this time?

Finn and Molly’s story is incredibly angsty and filled with so much heartbreaking sadness. It was a serious page-turner! I couldn’t put this one down until I finished it at 4 AM this morning!! I wasn’t sure that ”The Birthday List” could be topped, but then Devney Perry goes and proved me wrong!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine:4.5
Plot:4.5
Angst: 4.5
Steam:5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine:5

REVIEW & EXCERPT TOUR – TIMID (Lark Cove #2) by Devney Perry

Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.

Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.

Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.

A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

WRAPPED UP IN READING’s REVIEW OF TIMID

I scooched my chair in toward the table, trying to put a little more space between Jackson and me, but he wasn’t having it.

He put both hands on the back of my chair, then leaned in close. “Hi, Willa.”

“Uh . . . hi.” I shivered at the heat from his chest on my bare shoulders.

Why was he standing so close? My parents were right there. Our table was one of four tall, square ones in the center of the room and there was plenty of space between tables.

Plenty. P-L-E-N-T-Y.

But was Jackson using any of that plentiful space?

No sirree. He stayed pressed against the back of my chair, like there were only three inches of usable space behind him, not three feet.

My skin prickled he was so close. I tried to nudge my chair forward again but it barely moved. Sweat beaded on my temples and I pulled in a shaking breath.

Jackson’s woodsy, rich scent was everywhere. It overpowered the stale beer, pizza and peanuts, and I inhaled a deep breath, unable to resist.

Sexy Hot Forest. That’s what they’d call his cologne.
