FIVE PERFECT STARS****

This story is exactly what the title says, a Perfect Love Story. A tale about losing love, healing hearts, and allowing yourself to believe in love again, after a tragedy. Natasha Madison went back to basics and brought us a beautiful story that will make you fall in love. This is truly a book that will sing to your heart.

I loved all the characters in this story, I loved the writing and the beautiful beach town setting. This was truly the perfect love story.

Hailey thought she had it all. A newlywed still basking in the joys of having had found the perfect soulmate, but one day her husband suddenly dies in a terrible car accident. While mourning the death of her husband, she discovered the awful truth that he had actually been living a double life.

At the advice of her family, she decides to sell everything she owns and move away with her best friend, together Hailey and her cousin Crystal go on a new life adventure.

It’s not long before Hailey meets Jensen. A single dad also dealing with loss. They don’t get off to a great start but little by little animosity turns into a friendship, and then a beautiful love story is born.

This story was simple but meaningful, sexy and lovely, all at the same time. Like I said before, I fell in love with all the characters and I can’t wait to read every single book in this series.

REVIEW – STAR (44 Chapters #3) by B.B. Easton

SYNOPSIS

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. STAR is Hans’s book—a real-life rock star romance…with a twist.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming. He was the tall, tattooed, wickedly handsome bass player for the up-and-coming rock band, Phantom Limb. But, more importantly, he was hers. She knew it the moment he flashed her that shy, dimpled smile.

And he knew it too.

Hansel “Hans” Oppenheimer wore his heart on one sleeve and scrawled lyrics about BB on the other. Unlike the assholes of her past, he showered her with tenderness, took her places she’d never been before, and showed her the type of all-consuming love she’d thought only existed in fairy tales.

But, like any good fairy tale, BB’s road to happily ever after was paved with challenges, and right when she least expected it…it forked.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming.

In 2000, she met her soul mate.

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

In our year together, Hans had taken me places I’d never been. Given me experiences I’d only dreamed of. He’d made me pull over and look at the stars when I would have just sped on by. And that night, in that car, Hans showed me that he’d rather have a boyish, smart-ass troublemaker than all the curvaceous, red-lipped groupies in the world. He showed me my worth. And I would never be able to unsee it again.

BREATHTAKING!! Now I understand what all the hype has been over this author’s series. I only wish I had started at book one, even though STAR can be read as a standalone. I’m not normally a fan of drug use and underage drinking in books and I had been warned that it is prevalent in BB Easton’s stories but all of the glowing reviews of her previous works had my curiosity piqued! I’m so glad I decided to take a chance on this author. I’m so madly in love with her writing. I was completely swept away by BB and Hans’ love story. The writing is so incredible, I felt like I was experiencing all of the exhilaration, joy, sadness, and despair along with the Heroine. She was an easily relatable and lovable character. I am in awe of this woman, who at the tender age of seventeen, and had been through so much in such a short span of time!

BB and Hans meet at a house party and somehow the next morning they wake up in a strange bed together. From that moment on their love affair takes flight and I couldn’t help but experience all the butterflies along with BB as she starts to win the affections of the beautiful and soulful Rock God who made her feel like his Queen. BB has been in some really hard relationships in her past and they have left lasting physical and mental scars. They have messed with her psyche and made her doubt her self-worth, but this beautiful boy with a generous heart wraps her up in his affection and slowly helps her realize that she’s been knocking herself down for far too long.

I loved experiencing this new and exciting relationship grow and felt the desperation Hans and BB were often overcome by whenever they were forced to spend time apart. I was so completely gone over Hans that I hoped that BB would get to ride off into the sunset of happily ever after with her beautiful unicorn. I knew going in that each book in the ”44 Chapters” series was about a different man in her life and yet I still clung to some blind hope that my man would get the girl.

All I can say is that Hans is another rock god who has stolen a piece of my heart. He was one hell of a charismatic character. It does the heart good to know that this man is really out there! And I am officially in love with BB Easton! She has made a fangirl for life out of me!

REVIEW – IRON PRINCESS (Savage Trilogy #2) by Meghan March

SYNOPSIS

New York Times, #1 Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author, Meghan March, continues the story of her next devastating and damaged anti-hero in Iron Princess.

He’s a mystery. An enigma.

His very identity is a secret buried beneath layers of deception.

He’s also an addiction I can’t shake. An attraction I can’t fight.

And then I found out exactly who he is—a man more dangerous than the devil himself.

Now I need him in order to save everything that matters to me.

I have to pull back. Protect myself from the danger that haunts his every step.

Which would be easy . . . if I could stop myself from falling in love with him.

Every man has one thing that could lead to his downfall. I’ve always been so fucking smug that I didn’t. Until I met her. I should be cursing her, but all I want to do is make her feel the same storm that’s raging inside me. I want her to feel this addiction. Fuck. I want to keep her. And that would be the final nail in my coffin. But not tonight. Tonight, we steal whatever we can get.

I’m starting to realize that I have a thing for all of Meghan March’s sexy alpha males. The same thing happened to me while reading the ”Mount Trilogy”. I didn’t fully start to love the series until I was able to get the Hero’s POV and that’s how I feel after having read book two of the ”Savage Trilogy. Although I will admit I think I love the Hero of this book a lot more than Mount.

This one was full of steam and intrigue. The chemistry between Kane and Temperance is off the charts HOT!

Can’t wait to find out how it all ends!!

REVIEW – ROME’S CHANCE (Reapers MC #6.6) by Joanna Wylde

SYNOPSIS

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series…

Rome McGuire knew he was in trouble the first time he saw her.

She was sweet and pretty and just about perfect in every way. She was also too young and innocent for the Reapers Motorcycle Club. He did the right thing, and walked away.

The second time, he couldn’t resist tasting her.

Gorgeous and smart, fun and full of wonder, she jumped on his bike and would’ve followed him anywhere. Still, she deserved a shot at happiness somewhere bigger and better than a town like Hallies Falls. Walking away wasn’t so easy that time, but her family needed her and he had a job to do.

When she came around a third time, he’d had enough. Randi Whittaker had been given two chances to escape, and now it was time for Rome to take his.

This time, the only way Randi would be leaving Hallies Falls was on the back of Rome’s bike.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

I can’t believe we are already up to the eighth book in the ”Reapers MC” series, but I’m not going to lie, I hope it goes on indefinitely. I’ve said it before and it’s true, this is one of my top favorite MC series. Horse and Picnic are still my most beloved Reapers but Rome McGuire definitely had the sexy alpha male attitude going for him. I enjoyed his and Randi’s steamy love affair. This was very different from the other books in the series in that the main focus was on the Hero and Heroine’s romance mixed in with some family drama with minimal interaction with the other Reapers.

Randi Whittaker is back home after having left eight years ago when the wildfires forced her to evacuate and start her life over in a new town. She’s visiting her mother who has been ill and checking up on her younger sister and brother. She wasn’t expecting to run into Rome McGuire, who she had only dated once before she had to leave town, but who has never left her thoughts in all that time.

Rome hasn’t been able to forget about Randi as well. He felt something real with her that he’s never experienced with any other woman before and now that she’s back in town, he’s making it known in no uncertain terms that he’s staking his claim. Randi has a lot going on with her family and the stress of it all causes her to try and push Rome away, but she’s no match for his determination.

Can Rome convince Randi to take a leap of faith with him?

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 3

REVIEW – THE PECKER BRIEFS (Legal Affairs #7) by Sawyer Bennett

SYNOPSIS

I never thought a pecker would get me in so much trouble.

I mean, sure… if you’re talking about a certain anatomical feature of mine that the ladies just love. Given my bachelor status and appreciation for all things curvy and feminine, I could absolutely see that. But a different pecker is making my life much harder than it needs to be.

My name is Ford Daniels, partner at the law firm of Knight & Payne, and my latest case has me wading through the finer points of peckers—woodpeckers that is. Specifically, the red-cockaded woodpecker. I swear, I can’t make this stuff up but that’s what the sexy-as-hell blonde chained to a tree told me this morning.

Her name is Viveka Jones and she is so much more than a pretty face. She’s got wit, charm, and razor-sharp smarts. Turns out my client is looking to bulldoze the red-cockaded woodpecker’s natural habitat in favor of a multimillion-dollar subdivision and the sexy attorney with legs for days (and days), just happens to be counsel for an animal rights group looking to put a halt to construction.

My client’s pissed, but all I can think about is getting Viveka across the table from me. And then on the table underneath me. Perhaps up against the wall. And then—

Well, let’s just say when it’s all said and done, I’m hoping the red-cockaded woodpecker isn’t the only pecker that gets some attention from Miss Viveka Jones.

I have another Sawyer Bennett series to add to my “Favorites” shelf! I don’t know why I waited so long to read her ”Legal Affairs” series but I will be making some time to get to these books!! ”THE PECKER BRIEFS” was a well-paced sweet & super steamy read!! I loved the Hero, the Heroine, and just the whole feel of this story.

Ford Daniels is a successful lawyer working for one of the elite law firms in Raleigh, N.C. He’s a real ladies man and loves his carefree life as a bachelor. No woman has been able to hold his attention longer than a few weeks, until he meets the beautiful and headstrong opposing attorney of his upcoming case, Viveka Jones.

Viveka is an animal rights attorney. Recently divorced, she lives in a tiny modest home, making enough just to get by. She has a huge heart and she’ll take on cases even when she knows that her clients can’t afford to pay her because protecting the rights of animals is her passion. One of Ford’s clients calls him and orders him to get down to his construction site to handle a situation for him. When he arrives what he thought was going to be an annoying start to his day, turns out to be the highlight actually when he sees a beautiful woman who obviously chained herself to a tree. He’s even amused when Viveka hands over a court-ordered injunction against any work being done on the site in order to protect the red-cockaded woodpecker which is on the endangered species list, and happens to have built a nest in that tree along with all the surrounding trees in the area.

Ford and Viveka have crazy chemistry. It only takes 24 hours for them to wind up tangled between the sheets and from then on, they can barely stay away from each other for more than a day. Their romance was HOT and oh so sweet! This wasn’t a particularly angsty read but we do get some drama when it becomes clear that someone will do just about anything to silence Viveka. Ford wants to take matters into his own hands and protect Viv but she’s just as adamant about protecting his career and stubbornly makes him promise to not take any action.

Ford and Viveka try to keep their romance under the radar as it could cause big problems for them since they’re currently opposing attorneys on a court case. Will they be successful in keeping their relationship a secret and can they get through the case unscathed when it’s apparent that someone has it out for Viveka?

REVIEW – ONE GOOD MAN by Emma Scott

*****FIVE STARS*****

I gasped, utterly unprepared for how the taste of him, the feel of him touching me like this, turned my bones to sand and stole my breath.

I have to admit that when I first started reading this one, I was skeptical that I would love a story that takes place in 1970, but I should have known that there is no way this author could ever write anything that I wouldn’t fall in love with! ONE GOOD MAN is AMAZING!!! If you’ve read any of Emma Scott’s works then you’ll know that you can never trust your first impression of her characters. You’ve got to let her take you on a journey and slowly the layers are peeled away and you’re left with some incredible characters. I fell so much in love with Adrian Rousseau, the talented center forward of the Paris Central soccer team. He was a beautiful man with an equally beautiful soul!

Janey Martin was a strong Heroine who had to deal with her fair share of discrimination and sexual harassment being one of the few women majoring in journalism, which was predominantly a core curriculum for men. This novella really strikes a cord given the fact that we are hit with so many new cases of sexual harassment against women and in some instances, men, being reported in the media on a daily basis now.

Janey is an American student who is sent to complete her college education at the Sorbonne in France, after getting entangled in a Vietnam War protest that ended up in her incarceration. She hopes to become a successful news journalist for the Times or Newsweek, but being a woman with striking good looks have not been in her favor. She’s not been taken seriously nor given any gritty assignments that she craves. Her latest assignment for the school paper is to interview Sorbonne’s most popular student who is on the fast track to becoming a professional Soccer player—Adrian Rousseau.

Their first meeting is less than cordial as both Janey and Adrian take turns throwing insults at each other which are based on typical stereotypes. But as the story unfolds they get past their own biases and realize that the people they are on the inside just might be that missing piece of the puzzle to their hearts.

This was one incredibly beautiful story told by the incomparable Emma Scott!!

He takes his leisurely time making sure his lips touch every inch of my flesh. I writhe beneath him, committing this feeling to the deepest parts of my soul. If I take something with me when I die, this time it’s going to be how incredibly revered I feel by this man.

INCREDIBLE!!! Every time I finish one of Jewel E. Ann’s books, I am in awe of this extremely talented author. She writes the kind of stories that end up owning a piece of my heart. This duet was nothing short of magical. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t love about this story, except for that it eventually had to end. If you’re looking for your next “five-star” read, drop whatever you’re currently reading and pick up this duet!!

Swayze finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery that happened nearly twenty-two years ago and now seems to have links to the untimely demise of her neighbor. She’s still only getting pieces of Daisy’s memories and she’s convinced that the key to solving the mystery is to somehow find a way to unlock the memories from her past life. The problem is, her need to connect to her time as Daisy, is causing a huge rift between Swayze and Griffin. Griffin sees Swayze’s need to remember her past life as a threat to their relationship because it has a possibility of opening the door for Nate.

Griffin and Nate were amazing Heroes. There was no way I could stop from loving them both but one always had more of my heart. They each had me swooning and at times in tears. It’s hard to categorize this as a true love triangle because usually in that scenario someone is the “bad guy” but it wasn’t the case with this story. My heart ached for the three of them. What I got out of this story was that true love can really transcend space and time! I can’t leave out the incredible Heroine, Swayze. Her heart was so pure and her vulnerability made her that much more endearing! She thought she was undeserving of the love she received from these incredible men but I believe the same could be said of her love for them.

REVIEW – THE REAL by Kate Stewart

SYNOPSIS

They say it happens when you least expect it.

It did for me.

It started the moment I saw the simple message pop up on my computer screen:

Cameron’s Mac: Hi.

And when I met the eyes of the gorgeous man messaging me from across the coffee shop, I never thought my reply would lead to the most intense, sexual, and passionate relationship of my life.

We both agreed to check our bags at the door and put our future hopes and aspirations on the table.

It worked.

I fell in love with his no holds barred attitude, sexy smirk, and undeniably good heart . . . and for a while we forgot about our baggage. We happily tripped over it to get to the other, neither of us willing to show the contents of our pasts in the off chance it could ruin us.

We built our love on a foundation of gray.

It was life in black and white that threatened to tear us apart.

*****Dee’s Review*****

A Million Stars*****

Heart-rending, raw, and utterly beautiful. The Real is hands down a top ten favorite read of 2018.

This story flipped all the switches inside my heart. It made me crazy with so many emotions. Leave it to Kate Stewart to give it to us sooo good, but not before making us hurt a little, in the process.

I almost feel like, I don’t want to go to much into detail about what the story is about because this book is meant to be savored, slowly. It starts as a slow burn romance between two people; Cameron and Abbie. They both have major baggage stemming from past relationships, but when they decide to start dating they’ve agreed not to talk about the past or bring anything that hurt them before, into their new relationship. They start gently and very slowly, getting to know each other, working towards trusting with their hearts again.

Cameron and Abbie were perfectly flawed, and so great together. But what starts as a fairytale, can later turn into a nightmare…

I loved all the twists and turns this unique story offered. When I started reading this beautiful book, I had no idea what Kate Stewart had in store for me and my poor heart. I highlighted so many stunning sentences and phrases. Chapter after chapter she owned every single one of my emotions until I was a panting mess of tears and laughter. I felt like my heart was going to burst. So good, such a magnificent book. DO NOT MISS IT. DO NOT STOP.. Simply give in to the intense puzzle that is The Real.

One more thing I have to mention is that this author always creates the most amazing music playlists, that complement her stories perfectly. For days on out, I’ll be listening to the music and remembering every kiss, every tear, and every feeling. So, make sure to check those out too.

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC & BETA Read Generously Provided by Author}

I looked at the love of my life and got lost in the beautiful plains of his face, the angle of his jaw, the jade of his eyes. He was the same man I fell for, but nothing made sense. We’d been torn apart by truth and lies.

Kate is the only author I will beta for because I know without a doubt that every story she writes will touch my heart one way or another. She’s the Queen of the ”slow build”, which honestly I am not the biggest fan of because I tend to want instant gratification, but with Kate’s stories it always ends up being well worth the wait. Once this story takes off, get ready to be taken on a wild roller coaster ride of emotions. ”THE REAL” had heart. It was beyond angsty and had an overabundance of Ms. Stewart’s signature steam. Get ready to fall in love with the story of Abbie Gorman and Cameron Bledsoe!

Abbie has a successful career and a beautiful condo in one of the most beautiful cities in America…Chicago! She has a great family and the coolest best-friend but her love life has been in need of a boost for far too long. Abbie’s last relationship has left her shell-shocked and untrusting of her judgment in men. She thought her ex was “the one” until he turned out to be borderline psychotic. That relationship has left lasting scars, but then she meets Cameron, the handsome stranger at her favorite coffee shop, and it seems that he might be the one to pull Abbie out of the protective bubble she’s placed herself in over the past year.

Cameron and Abbie’s courtship is a slow burn. They only interact with each other via online chatting whenever they agree to meet up at the café. The two agree to take things slow and to get to know each other better through their online chats before taking things to the next level. They both seem to have issues from past relationships, so the initial arrangement between them works out the best for the couple. Once they do away with the laptops, the barriers between them start to dissipate and the story took off for me. They still keep things seemingly chaste. Even though they’re both nearly dying to be with each other intimately, there is still that slight hesitation on Abbie’s part. Through it all, Cameron remains the perfect and extremely patient gentleman. I really was beginning to think this guy was too good to be true. The romance was just too perfect and once Abbie could no longer deny her physical need for Cameron, the two couldn’t get enough of each other. Something kept me on edge. I knew things were a little too amazing and that the ”shoe” was somehow going to drop sooner or later.

Abbie and Cameron agreed, in the beginning, to leave the past behind them but in not facing it from the start it left them open to impending heartbreak. We knew what Abbie was hiding, but Cameron was a big mystery. We never got much about his past except for his relationship with his parents and the fact that he was a huge player in his younger days. When the bomb drops, you won’t see it coming and it will break your heart.

Will Cameron and Abbie be able to face their biggest challenge to save what they know is the ”the Real” that they only have with each other?

REVIEW – TOO MUCH INFORMATION (Awkward Love #3) by Missy Johnson

SYNOPSIS

We’ve all been there.

One minute, you’re sprawled out on your bed, minding our own business and the next you’re lying in the back seat of your best friend’s car as she races you to the ER.

And not the closest one either.

No. You’re headed to the one fifty miles farther out, because the one five minutes away is where you start your residency next week.

So there you are, lying in cubicle nine, hoping like hell that the doctor about to examine you isn’t young, sexy or male.

Of course he’s all three.

Telling him about the clitmaster7000 I have lodged inside me is by far the single most embarrassing moment of my life.

Discovering he’s my brother’s new roommate is even worse.

Fate keeps throwing them in each other’s path.

A few days later at a get together at her brother’s house, she runs into the sexy doctor again. To make things worse, her brother is attempting to set her up with Luke. Luke is Matt’s old college roommate and has been sleeping in his guest room while he waits to move into his new apartment. When Matt’s in-laws show up unexpectedly, he asks Laura if she could let Luke use her spare bedroom that she was planning on renting out anyway. Laura is yet again horrified that she has to come face to face on a daily basis with the man who was up close and personal with her private bits! But, that’s not the last of it, Luke is about to start his fellowship at the hospital she works at.

The two fumble through their first few weeks together as roommates and colleagues. Laura is struggling with the shame she feels over how they initially met, and Luke is desperate to ease Laura’s anxiety but unsure as to how to go about it.

When their romance starts to take off, the awkwardness subsides, but soon the past and painful secrets threaten to end things between them just as they were getting started.

REVIEW – DIRTY SEXY PLAYER (Dirty Games #1) by Laurelin Paige (Audiobook)

SYNOPSIS

Available in audio first, New York Times best-selling author Laurelin Paige’s newest red-hot romance!

Weston King knows how to play. But wild nights and owning an extensive collection of women’s panties don’t carry the thrill they once did, so when his business partner Donovan suggests an outrageous plan to allow them to take over their competition, Wes takes him up on the offer. The crazy idea? Marry the competitor.

Elizabeth Dyson, the bride-to-be in question, is on board with the plan. She wants access to her trust fund and can only get it once she marries. Each has something the other wants – all they have to do is pretend to like each other well enough to tie the knot.

Only trouble is, playing fiancé to Elizabeth isn’t quite that simple. Wes finds her sexy and brilliant…and soon wishes their engagement wasn’t fake at all. Not that he’d ever tell her that.

But a lover boy like Wes can only stand an empty bed for so long…and even the best of players has to put down his cards eventually.

Audiobooks aren’t my first preference when wanting to get lost in a story. I always worry that the voices won’t appeal to me and that it could possibly affect my enjoyment. I love to pick a quote in the book that stood out for me and share it in my review, which is pretty hard to do with audiobooks. But I will say these are perfect if you have a long commute to work or you’re planning a road trip, which I was last weekend and this audiobook made a five and a half hour drive seem like nothing at all. I love Laurelin Paige’s stories and she didn’t disappoint with “DIRTY SEXY PLAYER”. This is a spin-off of the“Dirty Duet” series, but don’t worry if you didn’t read the duet, the story is easy to follow.

For those of you who love romances with a Sexy Billionaire Alpha male and one of your favorite tropes is “enemies to lovers”, you will want to get your hands on this as soon as possible! Elizabeth Dyson is a beautiful young heiress who, according to a stipulation in her late father’s will, must get married if she wants to inherit the family’s media empire. Donovan Kinkaid, who co-owns an Advertising Corporation with two of his close friends, reaches out to Elizabeth with a proposition. She marries his partner, Weston King, and they buy a portion of her business, while she gets to keep the rest.

Weston has been a well-renowned ladies man for quite some time and the thought of marriage is not in the least bit appealing to him, until the moment he meets Elizabeth. The attraction between the two is palpable, but they seem to end up in heated arguments whenever they’re in the same room together. The two manage to successfully appear as a young couple that’s madly in love, which is crucial as Liz’s cousin, who wants to take her father’s company away from her, is suspicious of their union and has eyes everywhere on them.

Both Weston and Liz can’t deny that deep down they are starting to develop true feelings for each other and once they finally give in to the inevitable, it’s a feeling of pure relief. The constant bickering and moments of self-doubt on both ends were starting to wear on this reader’s patience!

Book one ends on the day of the couple’s wedding and an unexpected turn of events leaves us with a huge cliffhanger!! Not sure how I’m going to be able to wait until NOVEMBER to get all the answers!
