The premise of A STICKY SITUATION sounded pretty hot and I was excited to get my hands on this book, but I wasn’t expecting the story I ended up getting. That’s not to say that I was disappointed but I have to admit that this wasn’t my favorite in the ”Awkward Love” series. I would be lying if I said I was not entertained, because I was, but something was missing for me. I never completely felt the chemistry between Hannah and “Brix”. I don’t know that I liked the twist that the author threw into the story.

There were some very funny, extremely embarrassing moments that Hannah gets caught up in that made for some great entertainment. I just was always hoping for more development with the connection between the main characters. It felt like things were rushed and didn’t flow organically between them.

I have really enjoyed most of the books in this series. They’re quick and fun reads when you’re in the mood for something funny and steamy.

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 3.5
Heroine: 3.5
Plot: 3
Angst: 3

REVIEW – SPACE (Laws of Physics, #2; Hypothesis, #2.2) by Penny Reid

SYNOPSIS

From the New York Times Bestselling Author Penny Reid

One week.
Private cabin.
Famous physicist.
Still an unrepentant slacker.
What’s the worst that could happen?

Mona’s meticulously planned allotment of relaxation is thrown into chaos by the unscheduled appearance of her older brother’s band of friends, including the one person she’d hoped to never face again. Abram still makes her feel entirely too much, which is one of the reasons she disappeared after their one week together. But now, trapped on a mountain of snow and things unspoken, Mona will have to find a way to coexist with Abram, chaos and all.

Laws of Physics is the second trilogy in the Hypothesis series; Laws of Physics parts 1 (MOTION) & 2 (SPACE) end with a cliffhanger.

5 Million of Infinite~dimensional Stars*********

More than a million feelings going through my body, mind, and soul while reading this book. Comforting and warming like a hot cup of tea, but also fun and exciting as if you added a tinge of good whiskey to said cup of tea. This series is absolutely brilliant!!!!! And to make it even better my Favorite, MARTIN SANDEKE, from Penny’s Elements Of Chemistry series makes an appearance. YAY!!!!!!

It’s been two years since Mona and Abram spent a week together. After that whole beautiful disaster, they both went on with their lives. Success in their careers and notoriety has followed them everywhere, but they never saw each other again. That’s until they both get stuck in a snow storm in beautiful Colorado. And lucky for us, their encounters on top of the mountain are hot enough to melt even the snow.

This story is like those Pringles Chips, you know? Once you pop you can’t stop… you follow? Yes, I want to devour this story, I want to read it one hundred thousand times,- I want to memorize it, and perhaps even move in with it; that’s how obsessed I am with Mona, Abram, and the whole super fun and romantic Physics plot. So do yourself a big favor and start reading these books right now. You will regret it if you don’t.

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

I’d spent two years doubting my sanity. Instead, I should have been doubting the fundamental goodness of people, my willingness to trust, and my intelligence. And. Then. The. Wolves. Came.

Abram and Mona are back, and I have to say that I loved them so much more in this book than the previous one. I could feel the yearning and chemistry between them. The angst was incredibly high because they were letting the hurt and old insecurities blind them to the truth. I just couldn’t get enough of this book and am super anxious to learn how it all plays out for Abram and Mona.

As soon as the story starts, we learn that two years have gone by since Mona and Abram last saw each other. I seriously screamed! I hate it when couples who belong together are torn apart for years. Anyhow, they’ve gone on with their lives but honestly never really moved past from one another. Mona has become successful in her career and after spiraling out of control for a little while, Abram got his life back on track and is the lead singer of a very popular rock band. He’s written many chart-topping hits and unbeknownst to Mona, she has been the muse of all of those songs. They haven’t had any contact with each other but that all changes when they both end up at Mona’s family’s vacation lodge in Aspen at the same time.

Mona has been agonizing over the guilt she feels for misleading Abram and she’s still very much in love with him. Her plan was to come clean with Abram, but she soon finds out that he knows her secret. Abram had figured it out for quite some time and he’s been battling with feelings of betrayal, anger, and longing. Seeing Mona again brings him joy but he’s also so overcome with resentment towards her. He thinks it was all a game to her and that she never cared for him. Mona struggles with insecurity and lack of self-worth and truly believes there is no hope for a happily ever after with Abram.

These two have just a week together to get their feelings sorted out. Will they have faith enough in each other to make things work?

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

Together, we hover above the nothingness of the world. Like dragonflies. This space away from our world is the space where we belong. Together.

Mars McKinney and Sage Emerson come from two different worlds. Mars grew up in a trailer park in Duncan with his alcoholic and abusive father. Sage comes from a very wealthy family from the affluent town called Ashton Hills. It would seem as though they have nothing in common but actually they were like two lost pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly together. Both have parental figures who have made their lives miserable and they are both two very beautiful souls with artistic gifts. For nearly twenty years Mars and Sage have never crossed paths until they both end up attending the same college, and Mars gets a job as a barista at Sage’s favorite coffee house.

Their first encounter is sweet and what you would label a “meet cute”. Mars and Sage are undeniably drawn to each other and they set off on a sweet and innocent romance. For once in both of their lives, they’ve found someone who brings pure happiness and light into their world. But then weeks into their relationship Sage’s mom tries to come between them. As soon as she finds out who Sage is dating she forbids her from seeing Mars, and when Sage refuses and is caught with Mars again, her mother reveals the heartbreaking truth, that Sage and Mars are half brother and sister.

The truth of their shared bloodline nearly destroys them both. Mars and Sage are overcome with despair and grief. How can something that felt so right turn out to be so incredibly wrong? How will they be able to ultimately accept their new circumstances?

I really loved how this plot was written. This was far better than the previous taboo story K. Webster wrote with a similar theme. Mars and Sage’s love story started off innocent. There was nothing wrong with their intentions.

*****Dee’s Review*****

Five Awesome Stars *****

Surprise new release by author Jewel E. Ann! If you read Undeniably You, this new book, you are going to LOVE!!!! Because the story is about Sydney’s sister, Avery.

Avery is a bit (or a lot) of a Diva. She’s had terrible luck in love but recently things have been looking up for her after she started dating an older millionaire. Her rich boyfriend bought Avery her own spa and spoils her to no end. But unfortunately for Avery, her “prince charming “ turned out to be just like any other ex; a liar and a cheater. Deflated, disappointed and broke, Avery leaves town with her sister’s dog, Swarley (remember him???) to her dad’s house looking for some family support, since her sister is traveling.

More bad news for Avery; her Father is getting married to a much younger woman, that she’s never even met. Her dad sold his house and is moving to another state to be with his new wife and Avery is coming along to check things out. Turns out her new stepmom to be is actually great, so Avery has to go back to LA to sort her life and she’s catching a ride with a gorgeous, vegetarian, restaurant owner who is taking her along his camping trip, a favor to her Dad’s new wife.

Jake and Avery hate each other on sight. But the attraction is also very, very strong, even if they don’t want to admit it. So on this journey, they go, and along the way, they will find many things, including themselves.

This story is a sort of enemies to lovers. I loved the characters banter, and the plot was hilarious and very entertaining. I wasn’t a big fan of Avery in the beginning but slowly she won my heart. It was really endearing to read about her struggles and ultimately to experience her growth. Very cool book, I have no doubt that anyone who read it will have a grand time.

*****FIVE++++++++ STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

”I love you like an acoustic song. The words mean more. The emotions are magnified. It’s like the stars…during the day we don’t see them, but at night when the world around us feels stripped and bare, they shine so brightly.”
I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as you are in this very moment. Our love is…flawed but perfect.
It’s honest and open. It’s naked, Ave…our love is naked love.”

I honestly feel like a broken record whenever I review one of Jewel E. Ann’s books. She is truly one of the most talented authors out there today. I have read all of her books and have loved all of them. She doesn’t seem to have it in her to write a terrible story. I have several authors who I hold with high regard and even they have written a few bombs, but not Jewel.

NAKED LOVE is the perfect example of an enemies-to-loversromantic comedy. It was incredibly steamy, hysterically funny, and the plot was amazing. Take two people who are complete opposites in every way and force them to go on a road trip cross country, with a crazy but loveable dog, and you are sure to have yourself one wildly entertaining book!

If you have never read any of Jewel’s books before, I highly recommend that you make every effort to set aside some time to get to them. The main couple in this book are from a couple of stories Jewel wrote back in 2014– ”UNDENIABLY YOU” and the ”HOLDING YOU” series. I promise you, these are books you will be so happy that you read. I have to warn that they are off the charts angsty and you will be needing plenty of alcohol to numb the pain but hang in there, the HEA’s are worth it!!!

Jake is a sexy ex MMA fighter turned Vegan chef, who has a generous heart but also despises people who come off as materialistic and fake. Avery is a beautiful young woman, who has made some poor life choices and now finds her world turned upside down. She loves the finer things, is very much a girly girl and has used her looks to get what she wants from her ex-boyfriends. These two are like oil and vinegar, but their chemistry is so hot, it’s downright explosive. They know how to push each other’s buttons but ultimately they help each other strive to be better versions of themselves.

It’s so very hard not to fall madly in love with Jake. Jewel has the knack for creating some of the most fantastic and swoon-worthy book boyfriends. My ultimate favorite, Lautner, makes an appearance which was the icing on an already delicious cake.

Avery was very hard to like in the beginning because she comes off as being superficial and only into her appearance and designer clothes, but you have to be patient when you are reading one of Jewel’s books. Her characters tend to be flawed but eventually, when she finally peels back their layers, you see the beauty that is within them and that’s what happens with Avery.

I could write a novel about my feelings about this book and yet I still think I wouldn’t be able to write a review that is worthy of this story. I hope that if anything I convinced one person who’s never read any of Jewel’s books, to pick this one up and give her a chance.

K. Webster is one of those authors who has the gift of being able to write just about anything. She doesn’t limit herself to just one genre. She also has a knack for writing some seriously steamy guilty pleasure reads, and that’s what these short novellas that are a part of her “Taboo World” are all about. Almost every novella is a scorching hot May/December romance between an eighteen-year-old girl and a man that is close to or in his forties. I can’t deny that I enjoy the naughtiness but I don’t always love the characters. Winter was, for the most part, an obnoxious teenaged girl and August was beyond crass. However, the passion between them does make for an entertaining read. This wasn’t my favorite story in this series but it did have its moments. I am hoping that the next book will be about the sexy doctor we met in “Enzo”, who also makes an appearance towards the end of this story.

REVIEW – DIARY OF A BAD BOY by Meghan Quinn

SYNOPSIS

Dear Diary,

I might have gotten myself into a wee bit of trouble—and I’m not talking about the “court mandated community service,” or “therapy sessions from bashing a bloke in the head” kind of trouble.

I wish it were that simple.

Nope. I’m talking about the “falling in love with one of my client’s daughters,” kind of trouble . . .
The kind of problem I can’t talk my way out of when the truth gets out.

How I ended up with her phone is a long story—and when she called to get it back, I took things a bit too far. One innocent exchange wound up leading to so much more.

Fun, new, and totally immune to my charm, Sutton is different. And I had no idea she was the daughter of Foster Green.

Blame it on the dark colored stout running through my veins, pushing me toward one bad decision after another. Pushing me toward her even though I know right from wrong; even though she’s my client’s daughter.

Dating her might be the best or worst decision I’ve ever made. Only time, whiskey, and one more roll around the mattress with her will tell.

Roark

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

”I don’t know anything about relationships or how to care for someone. All I know is this feeling I have for you, this mind-numbing, soul-shattering feeling coursing through my body, isn’t going away, so I can either continue to try to fight it, or I can ask you for help.”

Meghan Quinn is one of my most favorite romantic comedy writers and she has far exceeded my expectations with ”DIARY OF A BAD BOY”. Everything about this story was pure magic! The story reels you in from the start and never lets go. The author’s signature snarky sense of humor is infused throughout and made for some belly aching laugh out loud moments. The plot was highly entertaining and I fell in love with both the Hero and Heroine. A total win!!

Roark McCool is a sexy hot-headed and foul-mouthed Irishman, with a penchant for liquor, fast women, and getting into fistfights. Sutton Green is a sweet and innocent Southern belle who can also give as good as she gets. The two first meet at a Gray’s Papaya where Roark gets into a brawl with a guy and nearly takes out Sutton in the process. Through the commotion, they wind up with each other’s cell phones and then the comical banter ensues. Roark goes out of his way to be a jerk and holds Sutton’s phone hostage while she desperately tries to meet up with him to get it back. This is ”enemies-to-lovers” romance at its best!

Things get complicated when they find out that Sutton’s dad is an NFL quarterback who also happens to be one of Roark’s top clients. Roark and Sutton thought their time in each other’s presence would end once their cell phones were exchanged but they’re both forced to work together on a philanthropic project that Sutton’s father holds near and dear to his heart.

Get ready for some serious sparks and painful sexual tension to form between the couple. I loved the quick-witted banter that flows fast and furious between Roark and Sutton, and their chemistry is scorching hot!! I wasn’t prepared to fall so hard for Roark as he didn’t really leave much of an impression on me in the first book, but that’s how I felt about Racer from ”Twisted Twosome”. That’s just how this author likes to throw you off and I love that about her writing.

REVIEW – MAKE ME BAD by R.S. Grey

SYNOPSIS

I was issued a warning: stay away from Ben Rosenberg.

As Clifton Cove’s resident “king”, he thinks he’s entitled to anyone and anything.

The trouble is, I’ve spent my whole life following the rules and playing it safe. I know what it feels like to be the good girl. I’m the police chief’s daughter and a librarian—for adorable children, no less. My wardrobe consists of colorful sundresses and baggy jeans. I might as well have a Post-it stuck to my forehead that reads: Yup, she’s a virgin.

An all-nighter with a fictional hunk is about as exciting as my life gets, until one day, fate decides to take pity on me and shove me straight into the path of Mr. Off-Limits himself.

Oof.

Just as I suspected, every inch of him promises to be my demise. Up close, he’s tall, menacing, dangerously handsome—the type of man who’s never spent a single moment worrying about the opinions of others. A well-behaved girl would do as she’s told and avoid him at all costs, but I’m overdue for a little rebellion.

No more Friday nights sprawled out on the couch in my comfiest pajamas. No more wishing I had the courage to misbehave.

Everyone thinks Ben is going to ruin me.
They think he’ll chew me up and spit me out.

Well, Ben…go ahead.
Tempt me. Taunt me.
Make me bad.

I’ve been out of high school for over a decade and here I stand, feeling like I’m eighteen again. This whole thing feels wrong. She’s the innocent little librarian and I’m apparently the last man on earth her father wants her to be talking to. I guess everyone has a little rebel inside them.

MAKE ME BAD is a sweet and sexy romantic comedy with characters you are sure to fall in love with. This is a forbidden romance filled with tons of laugh out loud moments and heart. I always get a little giddy when a new R.S. Grey book is about to be released. She has consistently delivered some terrific stories which is why she is another author I rank up high on my favorites list.

Madison is a sweet, beautiful and somewhat socially awkward librarian. Her father is the police chief and her older brother is also a police officer. The two are beyond overly protective of her. They treat her like a child rather than a twenty-five-year-old woman. She is almost brutally attacked on the night of her birthday but is rescued by Ben Rosenberg, Clifton Cove’s most eligible and sought after bachelor. Madison has even daydreamed about him a time or two.

As luck would have it, Ben shows up at the library a couple of days later. He got into a bit of trouble and has to do community service to make up for his misdemeanor. He chose to work at the library, not knowing that Madison worked there. They never thought they’d see each other again and secretly they’re each happy to have the chance to spend more time together. Neither of them realizes that they have a mutual attraction building between them. Ben is a legend in their town and comes from money. He could have any woman he wants, and Madison seems to think she’s a big nerd who could never be thought as attractive to a man like Ben. She has no idea how she affects him.

She asks Ben to help her be ”bad”. She’s tired of being the good girl and always taking the safe route in life. She wants some excitement in her life and would like to start shaking things up. Ben is intrigued by her request and since he’s also a bit smitten with her, he agrees to help Madison with walking on the wild side. After spending so much time together, Madison starts to suspect that Ben might be having feelings for her which has her flying high in the clouds. But her father and brother despise him. Will she be able to defy them and go after what her heart wants? Will she have to choose between love and family?

REVIEW – OFF THE AIR (Running On Air, #1) by L.H. Cosway

SYNOPSIS

Spending a month filming a reality TV show with your ex is no picnic.

Especially when you’ve signed a contract stating that the two of you will not, under any circumstances, have romantic relations while filming.

Leanne Simmons and Callum Davidson never had an easy relationship. From enemies to lovers and back to enemies, they’ve been on again/off again for years. Things come to a head when Callum gets into an altercation with a rival for Leanne’s affections. Their management decide enough is enough and give them both an ultimatum: sign the contract or leave the show.

Unwilling to give up their livelihoods, Callum and Leanne sign on the dotted line. However, like always, they can’t resist making a bet. Callum thinks it’s only a matter of time before they break the agreement, while Leanne is determined to see it through.

Can she resist him for an entire month without losing her sanity? And what if this is the one bet that finally breaks them both?

Off the Air is a contemporary romance and Book One in L.H. Cosway’s brand new “Running on Air” Series. Each book focuses on a different couple and can be read as a standalone.

Tonight, we ran on air.
And tomorrow, we’d do it again.
The location might change, but one thing would stay the same.
I’d never stop holding his hand.

In ”OFF THE AIR” we dive right into Callum and Leanne’s tumultuous and highly toxic relationship. The novella ”AIR KISS” tells the story of how their romance began and it was a clear indication that their journey was going to be one serious angst-fest.

Cal and Leanne star in the U.K.’s top-rated reality show ”Running on Air”. From the moment they met there was an instant off the charts hot, chemistry burning between them. They ran hot too fast and early into their relationship tragedy hits them. While Cal is going through just as much pain as Leanne, he tries time and again to be there for her. Leanne, however, does everything in her power to push Cal away and to close off her heart to him. But he’s in her blood and letting go completely proves to be an impossible feat. They go through several years of a push and pull relationship.

Cal has a hot temper. He’s passionate and possessive of Leanne, but it’s clear to see how deep his love runs for her. Leanne constantly pushes him away and says hurtful things but still, he never gives up on her. I loved Cal but wished many times for him to stop being her punching bag. What happened wasn’t his fault and he needed comfort and compassion just as much as she did.

Leanne’s stubbornness is what made this story beyond angsty. She wasn’t a character that I found easy to like. It was only when she comes to the revelation of just how awful she had been treating Cal, that I was able to like her a little bit.

REVIEW – ARRANGE ME (The Arranged Duo, #1) by Katy Regnery

SYNOPSIS

** COMING MARCH 4, 2019 **

My name is Courtney Jane Salinger…
and I’m sick of games.

Sick of the Friday night bar-scene-cum-meat-market.

Sick of the boy-girl, man-woman, mars-venus, flirtation-without-expectation, game-playing nonsense.

Sick of awful dates and one-night stands, booty calls and guys who don’t call back, mixed messages or NO messages and—and—and…I’m sick of all of it.

I’m done.
I just can’t do it anymore.
It’s too hard, and worse: little by little, it’s making me hard.
It’s breaking my heart.

What do I want?
That’s easy.

I want a house in suburbia with a white picket fence.
I want babies to buckle into a minivan.
But most of all, I want to be married.
I want a husband.

So I’ve made an important decision: I’m making my escape from the dating world and the single life.
I’ve filled out my application on ArrangeMe.com and I’m putting my fate into the hands of experts.

Is it a little scary?
Sure.
I mean, I have no idea who I’ll end up with.
After all, I’m planning to marry a complete stranger.

But between you and me?
I can’t wait.

Being arranged can’t possibly be worse than being single.
Can it?

Katy Regnery is one of my favorite authors. I love her ”Modern Fairytale” series and her dark romances are amazing. I didn’t fall crazy in love with her new book, ”Arrange Me”. In an overly saturated genre, I do give the author credit for coming up with a plot that I have yet to come across in any other book. The Heroine is a twenty-nine-year-old woman with a successful career and comes from a family with tons of money, but her love life has been one disappointment after another. She’s tired of the dating game. She wants to meet her soulmate, get married, have the house with the white picket fence and 2.5 children. She happens to see a commercial on tv for a matchmaking service that arranges marriages for couples. The company seems shady in that they ask for a pretty hefty fee which is non-refundable and the couples don’t get to meet until it’s their wedding day. The Heroine is hooked in by the ad and offers her faith in it blindly. I do remember being a bit naïve and having an overly romanticized outlook on life at that age so I can see why the Heroine goes full steam ahead with this arranged marriage deal, and yet I just didn’t ever connect with Courtney.

Just when she decides to have this matchmaking service find her a husband, a friend who she never thought in her wildest dreams had any interest in her, starts to make his feelings known. Josh is a sexy and charismatic Hero, and yet I thought the pairing of Josh and Courtney was rushed. Both characters make some pretty rash and irresponsible decisions. I started worrying that maybe this would be the first book by this author that I wouldn’t end up liking at all, but the author saves the story by throwing a harsh dose of reality in the faces of the main characters. Suddenly marrying someone without really getting to know each other is coming back to bite them and we’re left wondering if there is even a hope of a happily ever after ending for the two.

REVIEW – SWEET LIAR (Dirty Sweet, #1) by Laurelin Paige

British ad exec Dylan Locke isn’t looking for love. He isn’t looking for fate. He’s definitely not looking for Audrey Lind. She’s pretty, far too young, and overly romantic–in short, exhausting.

But when the girl, young enough to be his daughter, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t interested. In her body, in her innocence, in her philosophy.

In the kind of kismet that starts with kisses.

But Audrey isn’t looking for love either–she’s looking for lessons, and she’s certain Dylan knows everything she needs to learn.

If he agrees to play the teacher can he keep his heart?

Of course he can.

Then again, he might be lying.

I was caught. Ensnared in her net. I’d taken the bait, and after one sweet taste, I was captured. There was nothing left for me to do but surrender, let her cut me open and skin me. Let her feast.

SWEET LIAR the latest by Laurelin Paige, is an off the charts STEAMY “May/December” romance between a sexy and powerful British businessman and a beautiful and starry-eyed college coed. We’ve already been introduced to Donovan Kinkaid, Weston King, and Nathan Sinclair. Now it’s time to fall in love with Dylan Locke.

Dylan has been through hell and back when it comes to love and at forty-two, he is completely over matters of the heart. Quick and uncomplicated sexual encounters are more his style. But a young and very beautiful, Audrey Lind, is about to shake up his world. She’s the younger sister of one of his employees and although they’ve only just met, there is a spark that burns bright between them. After being in each other’s company for one night, his brain is telling him to run far away from the impressionable girl with romance in her eyes, but something strong is tethering him to her.

Audrey has only been in two relationships and she was deeply in love with both men, but they weren’t able to deliver the heat between the sheets. She’s wildly attracted to Dylan and believes he can teach her the art of seduction and to help her learn what her body craves.

When they finally give in to their desires, it will not be that easy for either of them to treat their relationship as temporary and strictly physical. Book one ends leaving readers wanting to know what happens next for Dylan and Audrey. Hopefully, this month will fly by so the wait won’t be too agonizing!
