I could feel the rapid beat of his heart through my chest…or maybe it was my heartbeat raging out of control against his. I couldn’t be sure because in this moment, there was no him and no me—there was only us.

 

 

 

Fans of this amazing writing duo are in for another fun and steamy good time with ”MY FAVORITE SOUVENIR”. In an overly saturated genre, I sometimes feel like I am reading the same story, just with different characters, but that was not the case with this book. I fell in love instantly with the plot and the Hero & Heroine. Their willingness to throw caution to the wind and live a couple of weeks being utterly spontaneous made this a thoroughly entertaining read for me. Milo and Maddie’s insanely hot chemistry made the slow burn almost unbearably painful but it ended up being well worth the wait. I had the storyline clearly laid out in my mind before I got to the halfway mark and truly never expected the twist that the authors threw in. It turned a 4.5 star read into a five star one instead.

Katherine Center writes books that make people happy, and What You Wish For did exactly that, left me with the biggest smile on my face.

Sam is a happy librarian that loves her job at a school in a cute little town in Texas. She’s lived there for four years now and rents a garage apartment from her bosses, who are also the owners and founders of the school where she works. Max and Babette are not only her bosses and landlords, but they are also her best friends and her “adoptive parents “ in a way because Samantha doesn’t have any family and they have taken her as one of their own from the moment she arrived.

A terrible tragedy shakes their little community and they are forced to hire a new principal for the school at the start of the new year, turns out it’s someone from Sam’s past, and she is both excited and terrified to see Duncan Carpenter again.

Turns out Duncan is not the man she once had a crush on and remembered, something happened to him and he’s changed completely and now the man that used to be the center of Sam’s obsession will become her biggest nemesis. Duncan wants to turn her colorful world gray but if he thought she was going to let that happen he has another thing coming because she’s ready for a battle in which her main weapon will be… fun!

Reading this book was so much fun but also heartbreaking. I highlighted so many positive quotes that I feel like I want to print them all out and put all over my house to remember those beautiful and inspirational quotes forever. I must say our lives are going through a very challenging time right now during this pandemic but reading this book made me feel so happy and hopeful. This is an absolutely wonderful read.
