SYNOPSIS:

Sometimes the things we shouldn’t want become exactly what we need…

Waitressing at a seedy strip club isn’t ideal, but it pays Sarah Adamson’s tuition. Her goal is to finish her master’s program and get a job that doesn’t involve tight skirts and groping hands. She doesn’t need distractions. Especially not the one that comes in the form of a hot-as-sin tattoo artist who works across the street from her apartment.

Kicked out at sixteen, and a high school dropout, Chris Zelter is familiar with wanting things he can’t have. His fractured life has never been easy. As the product of someone else’s bad decisions, he knows exactly what happens when the wrong person controls your marionette strings. Now an accomplished tattoo artist in a renowned studio in Chicago, Chris has it together.

Mostly.

Apart from his infatuation with Sarah. She’s way out of his league, and Chris knows it.
But he’s willing to be her bad decision. At least for now.

This was totally not what I am used to reading by the fabulous Helena Hunting. I have only read her PUCKED series and it is one of my all-time-favorite Sports Rom/Coms. Fractures in Ink was very gritty and dealt with characters who came from poverty and who have at one time or another battled with drug addiction and some people with dangerous criminal backgrounds. There weren’t any laugh out loud moments but what it does have is one pretty amazing Hero, who would do anything to protect his loved ones. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book by the time I finished it, but I can now confirm that Ms. Hunting has some mad writing skills!! By the time all of the action starts to pick up…I was definitely hooked and couldn’t wait to see how it all would end for Chris and Sarah. Although this is the third book in the Clipped Wings series, I was able to follow along, which means it could be read as a standalone, but I definitely want to find some time to read the first two books as well.

Profile portrait of businessman working on laptop in black suit at studio

Chris Zelter is one of the tattoo artists at Inked Armor. He’s made a name for himself and is a genuinely really good guy. That’s saying a lot because he wasn’t raised under the best of circumstances. His father left him at a pretty young age and his mother was seriously lacking in the maternal skills. When she gets involved with a new man and has another child with him, poor Chris ends up being physically and mentally abused by his stepfather while his mother withdraws completely from the situation. Eventually, Chris is thrown out of the house when he gets a little older and is able to beat the crap out of his abuser, and for a time he’s forbidden from having any contact with his little sister, Ivy. A few years later he inserts himself back into his sister’s and mother’s lives and tries to help out whenever he can since his deadbeat stepdad never seems to have any money to pay for food and bills.

The one bright spot in his life is his girlfriend, Sarah, although Chris seems to think that he’s not good enough for her and that their days are numbered. She’s enrolled in the Master’s program at Northwestern and has almost a full scholarship to pay for her education. Unfortunately, she too has had a less than stellar parental figure in her life. Her mother is basically a high priced call-girl/mistress. She was never a good role model for Sarah and actually suggests that she work part-time in a Strip club to help pay back some of her student loans. Sarah does end up taking a waitressing job at a local Strip Club and she’s been able to steer clear of the private parties and stripper pole, but her boss has been blackmailing her and unfortunately he helped her out of a jam which has left her indebted to him. Sarah fears for what her boss will want as payment and she foolishly keeps her troubles from Chris since she believes he would choose to break up with her if he found out about the mess she managed to get herself into.

The two lovers really could benefit from taking some lessons in communication. Both keep their insecurities about their relationship to themselves and also neither wants to divulge anything about their current worries because of their fears of abandonment. I found myself getting a little more than annoyed with them but then again, if they were to just open up to one another, the conflict would have ended quickly and the book would have been a novella instead. I get that we needed the unnecessary drama! But when the action starts to kick into high gear you couldn’t tear me away from the book!

EXCERPT REVEAL – AFTER WE FALL by Melanie Harlow

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow
Publication Date: November 28th, 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance

MHAfterWeFallBookCover5x8_BW_300.jpg

Synopsis:

Jack Valentini isn’t my type.

Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave.

Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so.

But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me for ten days, and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles.

His huge, hard muscles.

Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop.

And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife three years ago left him broken and bitter and blaming himself. He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness.

But he’s wrong.

I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last.

“Second chances are not given to make things right, but are given to prove that we could be even better after we fall.” —Unknown

Excerpt:

“Wow,” she said, shutting the screen door behind her. “That was close. Thank you so much.”

“You’re welcome.” I crossed my arms, wishing I’d thought to grab a shirt. “Want to tell me what you were doing out there?”

Her cheeks colored. “Um, I was taking a run.”

“Up a tree?”

She laughed nervously. “No. Well, I didn’t start out in a tree. That happened later.”

I cocked my head, unable to resist giving her a hard time. Not so sure of yourself now, are you, Barbie? “Oh yeah?”

“Yes. See, I left the cottage I’m renting without using the bathroom by mistake,” she began, twisting her fingers together, “and I was planning on running a loop around the farm, but it’s bigger than I thought.”

“Ah. So you were looking for a bathroom in the woods?”

“Well, yes.” She swallowed. “Sort of. But then I heard a splash and saw you…” Her cheeks were practically purple now.

I played dumb. “Saw me what?”

“Saw you naked, OK?” she blurted, throwing her hands up. “I admit it—I saw you naked.”

I had no hangups about nudity, but I was damn serious about my privacy, and about people sneaking up on me. But her embarrassment was funny. The two times I’d seen her before, she’d been so polished and poised. It felt good to put her in her place a little. “So you climbed a tree for a better view, is that it?”

Bowing her head, she dragged the toe of one shoe across the wood planks of the porch floor. “Something like that.” Then she looked up at me. Took a breath. “I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I was—I mean, I got—I couldn’t—” She sighed, briefly closing her eyes. “I have no excuse. Will you accept my apology?”

She was prettier without makeup, I decided. And the way she wore her hair off her face emphasized the wideness of her eyes, the angle of her cheekbones, the arch of her brows. Her lips didn’t need all that glossy crap, either. They were a perfect rosy pink, and I wondered if they’d feel as soft as they looked.

Fuck. I hadn’t kissed anyone in three years.

Clearing my throat, I took a step back. “Yeah. It’s fine.” Now get out of here.

She didn’t move. “So you’re not going to fire me?”

“I never hired you.”

“I know. But I really want this job. I think I can help, Jack. I know I can.”

“Suit yourself. I want nothing to do with it.” My name on her lips was trouble. Needing some distance from her, I started walking toward the dock to get my shoes and socks, but she followed me. God, she was a pest. It reminded me of the way Steph used to tag along after the boys when we were kids, wanting to get in our games.

“Are you going to be like this the entire time I’m here?” she asked.

“Like what?”

“Moody and uncooperative?”

“Probably.”

“Why? Do you hate me that much?”

“I don’t hate anybody. I just don’t see why we should pay some city girl who’s never set foot on a farm to advise us.” We reached the dock, and I leaned down to get my stuff.

“I’m not even asking to be paid, so piss off!” she shouted, her voice carrying on the water.

I straightened. “Oh, you’re working for free?”

“Yes!”

“Then you’re an idiot. Or so rich you don’t need the money.”

“I’m not an idiot,” she said through clenched teeth.

“So you’re rich, then.” I don’t know why I was being such an asshole. But for some reason, I did not want to let her see another side of me, or see another side to her. “I should have guessed.”

She crossed her arms. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means you look like you’ve led a charmed life. Like you’ve had everything you’ve ever wanted handed to you. Like you’ve never gotten your hands dirty.”

“So get them dirty.”

I almost fell off the dock. “What?”

“Get them dirty. Teach me about working this farm. I want to learn.”

Was she serious? The last thing I needed was to drag her ass around all day, explaining things. Or stare at her ass all day, imagining things. But one look at her defiant face and I shook my head. “Why do I feel like if I say no, you’ll just keep bothering me?”

She smiled and clasped her hands behind her back, rocking forward on her toes. “Because I will. I don’t like being told no.”

“Of course you don’t.” Jesus, she was trouble. A bad apple—smooth and shiny on the outside, spoiled rotten on the inside. But for no good reason, I found myself giving in. “Fine. Go change your clothes.”

When Jordan lets Mandy know he’s interested in something more with her, she questions his sincerity. He’s Jordan Tuttle & they live such different lives. He pursues her hard & she continues to resist. She thinks they aren’t a good match, & are just a bad idea. Jordan wants to be in her life & be with her. He’s had a crush on her for years & she challenges him & makes him smile. He could have anyone he wants, & he’s on a mission to make Mandy his girl. He’s a distraction she doesn’t need. She should be focused on school, her job, and her future, not Jordan Tuttle, but he’s slowly getting to her, & working his way into her heart. As they start to go public as a couple, Mandy has to face her own insecurities & go after what she wants.

-Commitment is a dirty word in my vocabulary. I never wanted it before. Yet I want it with Amanda.

-I’d give her every piece of me. All she has to do is say the word and I’m hers.

I really loved Jordan Tuttle!!! In the last book, he was more secretive & we didn’t know much about him. We learn more about his life & family and find out how crazy he is about Mandy. I loved how he acted like nobody existed but her. He was all in & totally swoony. Jordan decides he wants a relationship with Mandy & will do whatever it takes to convince her what they have is real and he won’t hurt her. At the same time, Mandy tries to show Jordan she’s someone he can count on & trust as well. I really enjoyed this story & love Tuttle & Mandy as a couple! :))

CHAPTER REVEAL – MORE THAN FRIENDS by Monica Murphy

sbpr-mtf-chaprev

Chapter One

Amanda

I’m cruising on my bike, contemplating everything Livvy just told me. How her mom was so mad when she discovered Livvy had spent the night at Ryan’s house, she grounded her and took away her phone. Livvy is seriously going to lose her mind being grounded for so long, unable to see Ryan unless we’re at school. That won’t be enough for her. When it comes to Ryan, it feels like nothing is ever enough for her.

At least I’m not in trouble like she is.

Liv’s going to stress out over Ryan, though. Over those hours when she’s not with him and he could possibly be up to no good. She worries about him all the time. I get it—sort of. He seems to play games, and that must get exhausting.

Truthfully, I wouldn’t put up with that crap. But I’m not Livvy.

Thank goodness.

The wind blows through my hair as I make a right into my neighborhood, turning the wild strands into a tangled mess. Not that I care. There’s no one I’m hoping to impress. It’ll just be Sunday night dinner with the family, as usual. I’m not even sure if they’re home yet. Dad mentioned something about going to Home Depot to pick out fall flowers for the yard, and Mom said something about shower curtains and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Bleh. I’m glad I made my escape when I did.

My house slowly comes into view and I smile to myself. I might not live in a giant mansion in a fancy neighborhood like my new so-called friends, but our house is nice. Small and on the older side, but it’s cute, with a pretty front yard and a big porch with a white swing…

Oh. Crap. There’s someone sitting on the swing. His arms are spread out along the back of the wooden frame, his gaze locked directly on me, like he knew I was going to appear at any second.

It’s Jordan Tuttle.

My heart is racing as I press gently on the brakes, taking him in, my gaze roving over every single tiny feature that makes him Jordan. I want to slow down the moment, revel in the anticipation of finding him waiting for me. He rises to his feet, runs a hand over his thick, perfect hair almost nervously, and a shuddery breath leaves me.

The memory hits me, socks me in the stomach and leaves me aching. I remember what it felt like, having those hands on me just last night. His mouth on mine, the words he whispered in my ear. It wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t something I made up inside my head, because seriously, I was starting to wonder if I really was losing my mind when it came to Jordan Tuttle.

But no. Jordan is real. He’s in my life because he wants to be here for some crazy reason. And now he’s waiting for me, his hands on his hips, the faintest smile on his face as he continues to watch me.

“What are you doing here?” I ask as I make my approach, hopping off my bike so I can roll it up the front walkway.

We meet in the middle, Jordan stopping just in front of me. “Nice way to greet me.”

I frown, worried I was doing everything wrong. He had a way of making me feel like that. “How should I greet you?”

“Like this.” His hand is suddenly curled around my nape when he pulls me in for a too-quick yet somehow lingering kiss. My lips tingle when he pulls away, and by the smug expression on his face, I know he knows the effect he has on me.

“Jordan,” I chastise, stepping away from him and nearly tripping over my stupid bike. Luckily enough, he catches me by the elbow, steadying me before I fall over like an idiot. “What if my parents are inside?”

“They’re not.” He grabs the bike from me, nudges the kickstand down and sets it in place on the sidewalk a few feet away from us. “Where’ve you been?”

His confidence makes me crazy. He’s so sure of himself, and I wish I had even an ounce of his self-assuredness.

I don’t. Not even close. He lives in another realm. I’m just a lowly peon compared to His Majesty, Lord Jordan Tuttle.

“I went over to Livvy’s,” I tell him when I realize he’s waiting for my answer. As usual, my mind wanders when I’m in his presence. “I wanted to make sure she’s okay.”

Jordan frowns. “She is, right?”

“Oh yeah, her mom just grounded her for life.” When he sends me a come on face, I readjust. “Fine, she’s grounded for a couple weeks. No phone. No Ryan.”

“It might do her some good, the no Ryan thing,” he mutters.

I say nothing. I don’t understand the relationship he has with Ryan. They’re friends. Then they’re not. They’re teammates always, and that’s something Jordan has to deal with no matter what.

“What are you up to right now?” I ask, hoping to change the subject.

He smiles. Reaches out to tuck a wayward strand of hair behind my ear. I feel that innocent touch all the way down to my toes, which are currently curling in my battered white Converse. “I want to take you out.”

My mouth drops open. “In public?”

The frown is back. It’s not fair, how attractive he still is despite the scowl he’s currently wearing. “Of course in public. What the hell, Mandy.”

I shrug, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. “We haven’t actually been seen together.”

He grabs my hand and pulls me in close. My body immediately goes hot and I wonder if he has some sort of powerful force field I can’t resist. “I want to change that.”

My gaze meets his and I can’t look away. He’s so sincere. So serious. “What happened between us last night was…”

“Real.” He kisses me again. Another brief brush of lips on lips, yet I’m decimated. Shaky all over when he pulls away. When my ex Thad kissed me, I never felt like this. Ever.

Never.

Ever.

Never.

“Maybe we were just caught up in a moment?” I ask tentatively. It’s like I’m always waiting for the bomb to drop. For the joke to be on me. No one in a million years would ever match me with Jordan Tuttle. Not even me. So what’s his deal? Why is he so persistent? I don’t get it.

I like it, but he also scares me. I don’t want to get hurt.

I don’t want my heart to be broken.

“Every time I’m near you, I get caught up in a moment.” One side of his perfect mouth tips up in this semi-smile that is absolutely adorable. I wish I had my phone out so I could snap a pic of him. “Maybe we need to give this a try and see if all we ever experience together is one giant moment.”

“That’s impossible.” The words are out before I can stop them and I slap my hand over my mouth, my eyes wide as I stare up at him.

Jordan actually laughs, shaking his head. It’s a rare sound, but wow, is it amazing. “Nothing’s impossible if you want it bad enough.”

I drop my hand, gaping up at him. “So are you saying that you want—me?

“Yes.” He dips his head, his mouth hovering above mine. “I do.”

BLOG TOUR – AMERICAN QUEEN by Sierra Simone

SBPR-AQ-BT.jpg

American Queen by Sierra Simone

Release Date: October 25th, 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Design: Hang Le

american-queen-print-for-web

Synopsis:

It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.

My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

This is the story of an American Queen.

Excerpt:

“I kept thinking about what I wanted to give you today for our wedding day, and honestly, Greer, there isn’t really anything I couldn’t give you. Jewelry or exotic vacations or rare editions of the books you love, anything I could have dreamed of, I could get for you—but they were just things. I didn’t want to get you a thing for a curio cabinet or a jewelry box. I wanted to give you something that you could carry with you through our new life together. Something that would make you a promise.”

The best man’s hand brushes up against my stocking-covered ankle and I gasp.

“What is it, princess?” Ash’s low voice comes over the phone line.

“Embry…I mean, Ash, I—” I can’t find the words just then, because Embry’s hand slides up my calf and everything stops. My thoughts, my feelings, my guilt—my world shrinks to Ash’s voice on the phone and the fingers moving past my knee and Embry’s face, so controlled. But lust and anger and determination are fissuring across that control, and I can see his wide pupils and the pulse pounding in his neck and the trembling of his lips.

What is happening? I think distantly to myself. What am I letting happen…and all while I’m on the phone with my soon-to-be husband?

And then the world slams back into motion, and I make a strangled noise, stumbling backwards, away from Embry. He starts to stand and come toward me, and I hold out one of my hands, moving backwards until my back is pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the skyline.

Embry looks down at my shaking hand and then back up to me, those fissures in his control now full-on fractures, and he says, “Greer…”

“Don’t test me,” I whisper, not sure if I’m whispering to the groom or the best man. “Don’t test me like this.”

This isn’t happening. I missed a connection somewhere, misunderstood something vital, because there is no way, no fucking way, that Ash is offering his best friend to me as some sort of wedding present. This is my wishful thinking turned toxic, this is my darkest fantasies turning into delusion—

“I want you to let Embry give you my gift,” Ash tells me. “While I listen. That’s what you’ll give me in exchange: every single moan, pant and cry will be for me.”

“You can’t be saying what I think you’re saying,” I say.

“Oh, don’t worry, angel. I’ll get something out of this for me too.”

I hear the dark roughness in his voice and I realize I’m so very, very wet.

“Close your eyes,” Ash orders.

I do, my panting somehow louder in my head when I can’t see anything. The glass window against my back is cool and strong, just like Ash’s words in my ear.

“I know you’re wet. I know it like I know Embry is hard right now, just from the mere thought of touching you. You want it, don’t you? You want it so much that you’re shaking with the effort it’s taking to hold yourself back.”

“But I don’t want to hurt you.” It’s my final plea, my final argument, my final grasp at some semblance of sanity. My skirts are almost up at my waist now, and I know the moment Embry catches sight of my delicate, hand-embroidered French panties because he takes in a sharp breath, as if punched in the gut.

“It all hurts,” Ash says. “It hurts watching you two watching each other. It hurts watching him with other people. There’s no part about this that doesn’t hurt, but what’s the alternative? Living without the pain means living without each other.”

TEASER THREE copy.jpg

Excerpt:

“Pull your skirt up.” I said it without acknowledging the possibility that she’d disobey. It felt good to use those words and that tone. To watch her eyes go to the floor.

“Trust me.” I said it so low she was just within range to hear it. “Five minutes. Then we don’t have to fight over the car.”

I stepped back and set my watch with a beep. It wasn’t about the car for her. The Jag was the least of her worries, but it was a tangible justification.

For the downcast eyes. For the way her breathing changed. Maybe every bone in her body was vanilla. Maybe not.

“Quit any time,” I said. “Just say the word.”

She laid her hands on her hips.

Curled her fingers.

Gripped fabric.

Pulled up her skirt.

The tops of her thighs came into view then met at the crotch. I was hard already and made no move to hide it. She noticed and stopped moving the skirt.

“Higher,” I said as if telling her how to center a picture over the couch. Higher was where it had to be. It wasn’t a request.

Up it went, revealing cotton underwear in a pink so pale they were almost white.

“Now what?” she asked.

“How do you feel?”

“Weird, Adam. Really weird.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m standing here with my skirt around my waist? Because you told me to? For a car, no less, which is creepy.”

She was so honest. I ached for her honesty.

“You’re not obeying me for an object. You’re obeying me so I do something. Take an action or don’t.”

“You think that’s not weird?”

“No, I don’t. And we have four minutes.” I stepped forward. Part of her discomfort was in the physical distance between us. I’d stepped away so she didn’t feel threatened, but my gaze was keeping her from relaxing. I kept my eyes on hers. I could smell her perfume and feel the shortness of her breath. “Are you turned on?”

“Sex isn’t going to get me back. I’m sorry—”

“Touch yourself.”

Her initial shock and offense lasted only a second before she pressed her lips together and reached down, shoulders angling, hand thrusting as if checking to make sure her cunt was still there.

We have hundreds of bones in our bodies, and sometimes we won’t acknowledge the preferences of the ones that scare us.

“Are you wet?”

“A little.”

I gripped the edge of the vanity and put my lips near her cheek, millimeters from touching her.

“You don’t love me anymore,” I whispered. “But I could always make you wet, and you always came for me. Like our Italy vacation. In Florence. Coming back from that club, in the little alley. Against the wall. I ripped through your underwear.”

Her breathing got shallow and fast.

“I fucked you in the dark, and when you came, you screamed my name so loud all the lights in the apartments went on.”

“That was good.” She turned her face toward mine.

When her lips nearly touched me, I pulled away just enough. “I said I wouldn’t touch you.”

“I changed my mind.”

I wasn’t fooled. Her arousal was talking. I owned her. She’d do whatever I told her. But I wanted something very simple. I wanted her pleasure. “Take the juice from your cunt and rub it on your clit. Make it wet.”

“Adam.”

“What?”

“What’s come over you?”

“Do it.” I felt her arm move against me. “Rub back and forth. Be consistent. One-two-one-two.”

When I felt that she had it, I stepped back. She stopped. Her knees were bent slightly and her fingers had taken her cunt from the side of the crotch, not the waistband. She never ceased to surprise me.

“One-two-one-two, huntress.”

“Is this your way of getting back at me?”

“One-two-one-two. Let me see you come. You’re so beautiful when you come. You’ve gone this far.”

Her body must have been able to override her mind, because she moved her finger again, closing her eyes. Her cheeks reddened and her knees bent more deeply.

“In Florence. An hour after we got to the hotel. I came so deep in you that night. I fucked you from behind with your leg up on the dresser. I wanted to thrust my whole body inside you. I loved you that much. And I gave up who I was. Last night, at the club, I remembered what I was. I was a man who was obeyed. I dominated women, and they submitted to me. The result was what you’re about to feel. Complete pleasure.”

She let out a long, low groan, leaning on the vanity, twisting. I could have fucked her right then. I could have bent her over the counter and pounded her. But that wasn’t the point. No. Watching her hand move under her clothes because I commanded it. That was the point.

An uh escaped her throat. Years of marriage had taught me that meant she was about to come.

My watch beeped.

“Time’s up,” I said.

Her eyes went wide. Her hand stopped.

“Thank you,” I said. “We’re done. I’ll send you the title to the car. You might want to pull your skirt down, since I can’t lock the door from the outside.”

It was hard to walk away from her panting, bent frame without tasting her cunt or even seeing more of her reaction, but I turned the corner, unlocked the door, and left the bathroom.

About the Author:

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to chop a cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Delicious and completely intoxicating, Mr. President is the perfect read for anyone looking for an angsty and beautiful romance. The more I read, the more I craved Katy Evan’s words, her story teasing my senses and claiming every single one of my emotions. A fabulous read!!!!

Matthew Hamilton was born to be President of the United States. Although it wasn’t always his dream; being the son of an Ex-President, growing up in the White House, and in front of the cameras, he always craved freedom and normalcy. After his father’s assassination, the combination of the love for his country and the thirst for justice and prosperity for America, gave him the push he needed, to finally decide to run for office.

Charlotte Wells was also born inside the world of politics; her father, a senator and good friends with The Hamilton’s. Charlotte and Matt met when they were both young, and that first meeting made an everlasting impression on the both of them. Now years later, and after the announcement of Matthew running for President they see each other again at a Gala, and the sparks fly. The next day Charlotte is surprised by the offer to join him on his presidential campaign.

20990637-_sy540_

They start working together and immediately the sparks turn into an uncontrollable attraction. But Matt is currently in a very serious relationship with United States of America and has no room for anyone else. Charlotte is very attracted to him but more than that she believes passionately that Matt is the best future for our country, and she can’t bear to be the reason for him failing at obtaining his place in the Oval office.

Their romance is forbidden, and they will have to settle for stolen moments in the shadows, where nobody can see, or know how hot they burn for each other. If their affair were to come to light, it could mean the end of Matt’s presidential candidate career. With paparazzi always around, and Matt’s enemies always looking for dirt against him, will Charlotte and Matt accept to play a risky game that even winning, will mean they’ll still lose something very important?

Who thought politics could be so sexy? Leave it to Katy Evan’s to show you, how hot it can actually be. She achieved the perfect balance between sensual and upscale, making this read something unforgettable. I seriously can’t wait for more, I too will be campaigning for Mr. President.

4.5 Stars!

Charlotte Wells grew up in Washington D.C. as the daughter of a senator. Her life was always surrounded by politics. She went to Georgetown & now is 22 & works in social services with her mother at an organization called Women of the World.

When Charlotte was 11 the President of the United States & his son came & had dinner with her family. The Hamilton’s have always been American royalty & they made quite the impression on a young Charlotte, especially the son Matthew. She developed her first crush & to this day has never forgotten him.

Matthew Hamilton grew up in the White House & can’t remember a time he wasn’t in the public eye. Now 35, he’s announcing he’s officially running for President. He wants change & is stepping up as the first truly strong independent candidate in U.S. history. He’s also the youngest, but is widely respected and the son of one of the most well-loved presidents of our time. He wants to fix the economy and do great things, and make a difference.

Charlotte and her mother decide to show their support and attend Matt’s campaign kick-off party. Charlotte hasn’t seen Matt in about nine years, but he’s never left her mind. He’s even more gorgeous than she remembered, but now he’s all man & oozes charisma & confidence. He’s genuine & everyone seems to love him.

Matt has never forgotten Charlotte either. When he sees her, he just wants to be closer to her. He still remembers the girl who told him if he ever decided to run for president he would have her vote. He invites Charlotte to join his team & help out with his campaign. They begin working together & spend a lot of time with one another. Things turn romantic between them & suddenly they can’t get enough of each other. They only get stolen moments in secret, but both will take whatever they can get. They are addicted to one another & strong feelings are developing.

-Charlotte is beautiful.

-You just don’t forget a face like hers.

-I not only want you, I need you.

-Nothing has ever felt as exciting to me as this man.

-The harder I try to hide the way I feel about him, the harder it hits me.

Charlotte wanted to keep things professional with Matt, but she couldn’t help falling for him. He’s her boss, her candidate & now the man she’s hopelessly in love with. She knew what they shared always had an end date & could only be temporary. That if he wins the presidency she will have to give him up. She loves him, but she also loves her country & the presidency. She doesn’t want what they have to get out & cause a scandal or destroy his image. She’s so torn. She wants him to win, but she also wants to keep him. The only man she’s ever really wanted belongs to America & is unobtainable. Loved this book so much & can’t wait for the next book in this series to find out what happens.

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived. She’s what I never knew I wanted and have discovered that I need.

If you’re a fan of Katy Evans and enjoy a good political romance, then you are in for a treat with Mr. President. All I could think about was why couldn’t we have a Matt Hamilton right now what with all the craziness going on with our current presidential election. I could totally get behind a candidate like Matt!! Too bad he only exists within the pages of this book.

Matt Hamilton is the apple of America’s eye. He practically grew up in the White House. His late father was one of the most beloved U.S. Presidents but during his 7th year in office he was assassinated and his murder is still an unsolved mystery. His father had always had high hopes that Matt would run for office but Matt was always opposed to the idea when he was younger. Now at the age of thirty-five, he is running as the youngest candidate, representing the Independent party. Matt has the kind of ideals and vision that past Presidents failed to deliver. Part of his plan is to surround himself with the best people to help him campaign and there’s one person in particular that he met eleven years ago when she was just a young girl that he wants on his team.

Taken from across the river, the Washington DC monuments reflecting in the Potomac River.

Charlotte Wells is no stranger to the political scene in D.C. Her father was a Senator and at the age of eleven, she got the chance to meet the President and his son when they came to her house for dinner one night. Young Charlotte was affected by her meeting with Matt Hamilton all those years ago and has harbored a secret crush ever since. She never had any aspirations of pursuing a career in politics and since graduating from college she had been working for a non-profit organization. But when she receives the request to join Matt Hamilton’s campaign staff, she might have been apprehensive about accepting the job but one look from Matt quickly obliterates her fears.

During the campaigning process Matt and Charlotte end up spending a lot of time together and neither can seem to keep their growing attraction under control. I often questioned what the big scandal would be if they were to become romantically involved. They’re both single and Charlotte’s family and personal background are nearly impeccable. If their relationship would be a huge scandal for Matt and could possibly cause him to lose the election, he didn’t seem to be all that concerned about some of his reckless behavior with her. Matt swears that if he is elected that he does not want that life for Charlotte because he saw what it did to his mother, but then in his next breath he claims her as his and that no other man can have her. This double talk drove me a bit bonkers.

Charlotte plays a dangerous game with her heart. She thinks she can handle having a secret affair with Matt and that if he wins the election that she can simply walk away, but as her heart gets more invested she begins to question the choices she’s made. And Matt is not at all unaffected by her as well.

The book ends on a cliffy and we are left wondering what the future holds for Matt and Charlotte. I’m looking forward to seeing if love will win in the end. I’m sure that Ms. Evans will not disappoint us.
