The main theme of this story is forbidden romance. We met Landon and Heidi in book one. Landon is Jensen’s younger brother, who also happens to be Emery’s High School sweetheart. He broke up with her after their senior year and it nearly destroyed Emery. Heidi is Emery’s best friend. She was friends with Landon as well and was there to help pick up the pieces when he left. Not only is Landon, Heidi’s best friend’s ex but he also happens to be married, and soon enough he becomes her boss at Wright Construction when his professional golf career is put on hold due to a back injury. To say that a romance between these two is ”forbidden”, is an understatement!

Landon and Heidi shared an intimate moment at one of their favorite hangouts. It was only a kiss, but that moment hasn’t left either of their minds for months. Now Landon is back in town, and his marriage is practically over. He’s finally opened his eyes to his wife’s deception and his family couldn’t be happier that he’s ending that marriage. Landon and Heidi run into each other at a high school reunion and they instantly feel that attraction that they’ve tried so hard to deny. This is pretend, but not the way she’s defining it. What is pretend is my show of control. Kimbra Jones has it all. I’d fall to my knees and beg her if I could make this weekend continue.

PLUS ONE is the first Aleatha Romig book that I have ever read and all I can say is that I was completely blown away by how much I truly loved this story! I know she is famous for her dark books and I did go into this one with a little trepidation because I wondered if she would be able to successfully write a RomCom and I am so happy to report that my doubts were unfounded! The storyline had me hooked from the prologue! Office romances, when done right, can be OH SO GOOD and my GOD, I nearly burst into flames from the scorching hot sexy scenes in this book!

Kimbra Jones is an HR manager for a pharmaceutical logistics company in New York City. She moved all the way from a small town in Indiana for this dream job. Life has been good to her in the career department but she hasn’t fared too well in matters of the heart. When her mom calls to find out if she’s still coming with her boyfriend to her cousin’s wedding, Kimbra starts to panic. Her family doesn’t know that she broke up with her boyfriend six months ago. She doesn’t want her family to know that yet again she is single but since the wedding is less than a week away, her options seem bleak. But then everything changes when she catches the CEO, Duncan Willis, in a compromising position in the office restroom with a female employee. Desperate times calls for desperate measures and she ends up “blackmailing” Duncan into being her ”Plus One” to the wedding festivities and in return she will keep his indiscretion a secret. Duncan has fancied Kimbra for nearly three years. From the moment she walked into his office he had been captivated by her, and little does he know that Kimbra has harbored a secret crush on him as well. This wedding ends up being a welcome opportunity for the both of them even though they agree that they’re strictly in a ”pretend” relationship. Neither of them expected to feel an overwhelming attraction for each other and that they’d share such a deep connection.

This book was simply amazeballs and there aren’t enough words in the English Dictionary that could successfully describe just how much I loved it! The heroine was endearing, the story was wildly entertaining, some of the secondary characters are a serious laugh riot, and it has a ridiculously sexy and swoon worthy Hero!

PLUS ONE is currently available! Make sure you bump this one waaaaaaaaaaaaaay up your TBRs!! I am truly hoping that Ms. Romig will write more books like this! It would be a travesty if she didn’t!
