EXCERPT

She slid the key in the lock and opened the box. A set of five books lay inside, arranged in order. She stared at the binding. “Decameron de Bocace,” she read.

“Very good,” Jack said. “I was afraid you’d forgotten how to read French.”

Caroline was tempted to smack him but contained herself. She examined the books closer. “This set is exceptionally old.”

“1757, I believe. One of the more valuable 18th century editions.”

It would have been too easy for him to pick up a paperback copy from a normal bookstore. “Why French?”

“You are fluent,” he pointed out.

As if the classics weren’t challenging enough in English. “You bought me Boccaccio in a foreign language?”

“I do love how you enjoy the oldies,” Jack said.

The Decameron is more than an oldie. It’s one of my favorite books.”

“I know.” He smirked. “I read that interview you did for Philadelphia magazine.”

“You set up that interview,” Caroline said.

“I remember. Did you tell them that you only mentioned that book so you could sound intellectual?”

She very rarely spouted off about that sort of thing but they’d asked about it and she’d answered. She’d also mentioned her favorite childhood reads and a host of dystopian tales, but Jack had clearly forgotten that part. “It’s a wonderful example of medieval literature. Hush up.”

He glanced at her nervously. “What do you think?”

Was he worried that she would be disappointed in such an incredible gift? “Do I even want to know how much you spent on this?”

“I’m not going to tell you,” he said. “Not without a little bit of prodding or a lot of sexual favors.”

She could work on that later. The book set was in near perfect condition for its age. “This is beautiful,” Caroline said.

He looked a little too proud of himself. “I thought you’d like it.”

“I want first editions of Harry Potter next,” Caroline said. “The U.K. versions.”

“Instead of telling me to stop buying you things, you’re giving me ideas?”

“Damn right.” She leaned in to kiss him, long and hard. A gift like this deserved more than a peck. “Thank you, darling.”

“Read it to me,” Jack said.

He didn’t speak French. That request made no sense. “What?”

“Read it to me,” he repeated.

Maybe she’d misheard him. She was thoroughly confused. “In French?”

He moved behind her and leaned toward her ear. “Bend over the desk and read it to me,” he whispered, taking one of the volumes and carefully turning the pages to where a bookmark marked the spot.

Caroline scanned the words, swallowing hard. She recognized the tale immediately. Rustico and Alibech in the desert. The randy monk exposing himself to the curious virgin and seducing her. Possibly one of the most salacious tales in the entire book. “You want me to read this to you?”

“Yes,” he said. “If you promise to translate it correctly and are very, very good, you might even get a reward.” He slid his hand under her skirt. “You can do that, right?”

Breathtaking. Brilliant. Stunning. Those three words among other equally impressive adjectives come to mind, when I try to describe this story. While I admit that I’ve cried, yelled, and even thrown my kindle across the room when reading this saga, I wouldn’t change one thing, or one ounce of angst. Nothing. My love and devotion f

or this story grows as I read more. I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Processed with MOLDIV

Finally Caroline has been able to escape the hell that was The Fed. She’s made friends with her rescuers and together they make plans to resume their mission to make it to the safer part of the country.

These characters are living through very trying times. The United States is no longer a free country where people can express themselves and be who they are and while the everyday lives of the American people may seem the same they are in fact completely different.

Caroline needs to look and feel like someone else. Being the first lady of Pennsylvania, who she used to be, is not only dangerous but also very painful. She struggles with her memories, those beautiful times she experienced with her loved ones, now hurt her, haunt her dreams.

Processed with MOLDIV

Just like in the previous book we go from past to present. In the past we finds answers that slowly complete the puzzle of what’s been building for years and is now a cruel reality in the life of Caroline. We learn about the events that lead to the demise of the Governor of Pennsylvania and his first lady. How they prepared in case of bad events. Bittersweet moments in the story, but probably my favorites…

A whole set of wonderful secondary characters are introduced in this third part of the story. I enjoyed these new friends of Caroline, while I’m still mourning the loss of others.

Caroline is the only girl in the safe house and even though the men are the ones helping her and nursing her back to life, she has claimed the spot of leader as she helps and guides them into safe territory.

She’s not the same Chicago girl she used to be. She is now using her pain to shape into a new woman who is simply ready for battle, one she wants to desperately win. The sweet Caroline who used to have it all, now has nothing but loneliness and her memories of wonderful and sexy times with her husband, the one she cries for every night and is afraid to even say his name, because it just hurts too much.

The steamy scenes get even hotter and yet more romantic. It’s pretty clear by now that this couple communicate best in the bedroom. Their love and devotion translates so intensely in those private moments between husband and wife. They become fearless inside the embrace of one another. The beauty of those moments was too much for my heart and other parts of my body to take…

Caroline and her friends are looking to get to the other side, join the rebels and fight for what’s right. Will they make it? And if they do, what will they find? More enemies or the allies they so desperately need?

Reading these books is like eating a delicious and very expensive box of chocolates, each piece is unique, some sweet, some bitter but in the end you simply can’t have enough…

I’m a very passionate reader, and there are so many stories I love and adore but never before have I felt so inside and so connected to a story. I’m so consumed by this saga that I’m desperate forEVERYONE to read it. If I could purchase the books for every person I know, I would. That’s how much I believe in this wonderful story.

Cecilia London has a wonderful playlist for each book on Spotify. So make sure to check out the fabulous tunes that inspire this “Evil Genius” author while she creates her masterpieces.

I can’t leave my review before thanking my friend Irene for once again recommending me yet another mind blowing series. I’m convinced we are book soul mates and I’m so grateful that you always think of me, when sharing amazing reads. I owe you a few drinks and a few hugs. Thank you!!!

*****5++++++ STARS******

(ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review)

I’m clutching onto my kindle. My heart is pounding and tears are pouring down my face. I relish on the feelings brought on by this highly emotional and thrilling story. If I loved book one of The Bellator Saga, this second book I absolutely adored. The story keeps getting better and better…

17182351._SY540_

The book starts as Caroline wakes up cuffed to a hospital bed after two weeks of being in intensive care. With the help of her doctor she tries to escape but her mission is short lived. Our heroine gets captured and taken to a horrible government prison, where traitors are tortured for information about the group of rebels forming against the corrupted government.

This book is told from past to present. The past scenes are about Jack and Caroline’s beautiful life, as he runs and wins the election for Governor of Pennsylvania and Caroline becomes the first lady. These two characters are so in love and it’s a real treat to read about them settling so beautifully into married life. Their funny banters, their sexual games and family life are simply amazing and a safe haven inside this very emotional book.

17182352._SY540_

The scenes that are narrated in the present time are very dark. Caroline never knew how strong she could really be, until she had to fight so hard for her life. Her current situation is very critical, she finds herself in a cruel world, where there’s nothing but pain, darkness, and monsters who hurt her.

My heart broke over and over. The angst was at an all time high. The brilliance of this author though, was how she combined the beauty of the past and the horror of Caroline’s present in a way that not only made sense but left me in awe with the story and made me feel so connected to the characters.

17182353._SY540_

I always look for inspiration for my own life in the books I read and Caroline’s character was so fierce, so smart, I totally wanna be like her when I grow up. Her passion for her family, her friends, her country, had no limits and she fights with blood and tears to protect them.

Jack’s character too is amazing. There’s so many sides to him and I must admit I liked every single one of them. Jack is smart, rough, loving and sometimes insecure and vulnerable but as the story goes on he made me fall deeper for him.

Another thing I must share in this review is how much I enjoyed the sex scenes between these characters. They both love to experience different things and were barely able to keep their hands off each other. It was so interesting to read about such a powerful and elegant couple who behind close doors got really kinky. As they learned more about each other’s bodies and limits, the sex got much more adventurous and this made for some of the hottest scenes I have ever read in a book.

I’m enjoying these books tremendously, the more I read, the more I cry and the more I love…

Please, do yourself a favor and pick up these books today!!. Don’t let another day go by without you experiencing the magic that is inside the pages of this story.

*****FIVE STARS*****

(ARC provided in exchange for an honest review)

This book was perfect for me! I hung onto to every word as if this was the last book I would ever read. I was captivated by the smart and elegant writing style. I immediately connected with the characters and my excitement grew to a level that I could barely contain it, my heart was bursting with glee. There’s no better feeling in the world than when you find the perfect story.

17144123._SY540_

In this first book of The Bellator Saga we meet Caroline Gerard, a rising star in the House of Representatives. She recently became a widow and single parent of two beautiful girls. She is very passionate about her job in politics but sadness is always present in her life as she feels guilty for the things she wished she could have said and done for her husband before he died.

Regrets pile up as she gives a speech where she attacks fellow politician, John McIntyre. Caroline immediately wants to fix her mistake but Mr. McIntyre wants none of her apologies. Later when these two find a moment to sit down for a talk, an unmistakable attraction is born. Caroline quickly dismisses her feelings toward John because of his Playboy reputation and also because even after a year since her husband’s passing, she’s not ready to have feelings for another man.

Caroline and John settle into a very special friendship where they exchange interesting conversation, fun debates and the occasional meal. John McIntyre is very handsome and charming and he finds himself hopelessly falling in love with Caroline and in a very delicate and patient manner he is determined to win a piece of her heart. After a dance and a beautiful kiss, Caroline starts feeling hopeful about a future and maybe loving someone again. John is simply irresistible…

17144286._SY540_

This story is told from past to present. The past narrates the whirlwind romance between John and Caroline, while in the present Caroline is handcuffed to a hospital bed recuperating from terrible trauma done to her body. Two doctors are trying to protect her from the military men that want her for treason.

I loved both sides of the story. This is a very smart and well thought out novel. The political background makes it exciting and the romance ignited all my senses, making me addicted and desperate for more.

I highly recommend this books. It took me about two minutes into the story before I asked myself; WHY ISN’T EVERYONE READING THESE BOOKS????? I’m on to the next one… I’m in book heaven right now.
