Synopsis: I like to think of myself as a man of pleasure…I enjoy a good pint of ale, being in the arms of a beautiful woman, and living by my own rules. The only thing I try to avoid? Commitment. And I’ve got a three-year success rate to prove it.

I wasn’t planning on Grace—the beautiful, funny, totally off-limits massage therapist who keeps popping up in my life. She’s on a six-month mission to rid her life of toxins. No alcohol. No red meat. And, yeah, no men. I’m talking full-on man cleanse.

I know I should walk away, but I can’t…and the only way to keep her in my life is to live by her rules. I’ll need to prove to a woman who’s lost all trust in men that I’m worthy of her love. And do it all without so much as a single kiss.

The only problem? If I win, I’ll lose the one thing I swore I’d never give up. My heart.

EXCERPT:

“I want it to be you, too,” she blurted, and he could hear the tremble in her voice. Because here they were, six days into their friendship, admitting it might not be enough, that there might be something more brewing beneath the surface.

She chewed her bottom lip, and then her expression broke into the biggest, most beautiful smile he’d ever seen, and Jeremy knew he was in deeper than he’d ever meant to go. Yet he had no intention of swimming back to the surface.

“I’d give my right hand to kiss you right now,” he said. He watched her neck as she swallowed and knew he was pushing the envelope, but he couldn’t help it. She wanted him, too.

“Are you right-handed?” she asked, her eyes sparkling now with a mischief he’d never seen before.

He nodded.

“Then don’t do that. Makes it harder to imagine what that hand could do to me in three months.”

Holy shit. He was hard as a rock in a millisecond. What was she doing?

“Do you have any obligation past your ten o’clock deadline?” he asked, wanting to whisk her from this place and then…what?

She shook her head. “Not really. I just have to post about my experience on the Facebook page—per the contract— then I’m free. What did you have in mind?”

Christ. He had a lot of things in mind, but he couldn’t do any of them.

“How about this?” she continued. “You go home and get comfortable. I’ll go home and do this little post thing. Then I’ll call you, and we’ll see if we can’t do something…together.”

Fuck. She was serious. He swallowed hard.

“Can you elaborate on that, please? Because if I let my imagination run with this and I’m misinterpreting you, there’s a certain vital organ of mine that will be really disappointed.”

She narrowed her eyes. “Your heart?”

He fought the urge to adjust himself right there in the chair.

“You’re not going to make this easy, are you?” he asked.

She shook her head slowly, leaning toward him over the table. “Why would I do that when it’s so fun to watch you squirm?”

And squirm in his fucking chair he did. “Do it now,” he insisted.

“What?”

“Do the post now. Then get in a cab and go home. Better yet, do the damn post in the cab. I’ll walk so it takes me a little longer to get to my place. Then call me the second you walk in the door. I mean, as soon as that door closes behind you, have my number up and ready, and then hit send.”

I can touch myself all I want.

He let her words play on repeat inside his head, not caring that his dick throbbed, that he ached like he’d never ached before. Because he was going to talk her into the biggest fucking orgasm she’d ever had. Even if it brought him to his knees.

And he knew it would.

They walked to the door together, wordlessly. He whisked Grace out the door and put

her in a cab.

“Talk soon,” she said, before he closed the door.

All he could do was nod.

Her voice and her words remained on loop as he made his way back to his apartment, though this time his limp had nothing to do with his leg.

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

This wasn’t a game anymore—no secret arrangement between two people who claimed they only wanted fun. This was her heart, and she had given it to him without the guarantee of the happy ending.

three-simple-words-teaser-3

I love the ”romance with the brother’s best-friend” trope and THREE SIMPLE WORDS had it with just a little twist. The heroine ends up getting involved with her younger brother’s best-friend. There’s only a three-year difference between them which isn’t a big deal when you’re in your twenties but when the two first met, she was sixteen and he was thirteen and three years makes a world of difference. The hero was just her kid brother’s dorky friend way back then. It was kind of an odd twist but ultimately it did work. Also the fact that the hero was a New York Time’s best-selling author and the heroine was a book shop owner and a book blogger, ended up being the delicious icing on a perfect three tier cake!!

three-simple-words-teaser-2

Wes Hartley finds himself returning back home to Chicago, after having gone off to New York City for several years to pursue his writing career. His debut novel, which is a romance, turned out to be a New York Time’s best seller. But he’s been having writer’s block and Wes is worried that maybe he could be a one-hit wonder. With his agent and publicist breathing down his neck for pages from his new novel, Wes decides to go back home in hopes that a spark of creativity will develop for him. He had hoped to crash at his father’s place but their relationship has been strained for the past five years and so he ends up getting the extra bedroom in his best friend’s apartment and a part-time job as a bartender at the Kingston Ale House, since he had spent most of his royalties from his first book on paying his dad’s mortgage. His friend asks if Wes could help out his big sister by doing a book signing at her store. Business hasn’t been booming and the popularity of Wes and his book could be the jump start that the store needs. Wes is more than happy to help out the woman who he had a school boy crush on so many years ago.

Annie Denning is an avid book reader and romance is her favorite genre. She clings to her belief that there is an HEAin her future someday. She keeps her heart protected, subconsciously, by dating men who always turn out to be unattainable. No man has ever truly captured her love. But one look at the man Wes Hartley has grown up to be, has her heart going all swoony. Wes ends up being Annie’s date to her friends’ wedding the following week after the book signing event and things heat up pretty quickly between them. What they thought would just be one night of passion turns out to be a secret affair that goes on for several weeks. Annie has become Wes’ muse and the words won’t stop flowing out of his mind. While they’re having fun together, both are trying to convince themselves that there’s no future for them and that they’ll be able to walk away from it all when Wes has finished writing his book and goes back to New York.

three-simple-words-teaser-4

Both Annie and Wes have major issues to deal with before they can even begin to endeavor into a serious relationship. Will the two be able to work through their hang-ups with regards to love or will they end up losing their one shot at a true HEA??!!

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

He wasn’t supposed to find anything to make him happy in Chicago, yet here was this woman who was as brilliant as she was maddening. A woman he loved more every second he was with her. And a woman who believed she couldn’t love him back—not for the long haul.

unnamed

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!

I have to say that I had never heard of AJ Pine before reading this story, but now she is one that is going on my must read shelf. I’m so delighted with just how much I ended up falling in love with this book! We all have our favorite types of heroes, but the one that tops them all for me is a GORGEOUS BRIT!! As soon as I read in the blurb that the Hero was a Tall, Dark and Handsome Brit, there was no way I could pass this one up. Ladies get ready to fall in love with Will Evans!!! I challenge you to not finding him utterly irresistible.

Holly Chandler is very much driven by her career. She’s looking to make partner at Trousseau. On the day she thinks that her aspirations of becoming a partner are about to come to fruition, she runs into a sinfully sexy Brit in the elevator and let’s just say their first meeting wasn’t a glowing one as far as Holly’s concerned. To her utter dismay, she later learns that she will be working with him on a project for the next six months and that her shot at making partner rides on the success of this latest project. Holly and Will are attracted to each other but each have issues that make them a less than desirable candidate for a romantic attachment. Holly doesn’t believe in love. She’s never dated anyone beyond six months because she has learned from experience that six months is as long as that honeymoon phase lasts.

Six Month Rule Teaser 3

Will is only in Chicago for the next several months, after the project is over he will be going back to London where his six-year-old daughter lives with his ex. His daughter, Sophie, is everything to him and being a good father to her is his number one priority. His life doesn’t have room for a girlfriend. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t extremely attracted to the maddening and vivacious Holly.

Holly is also unable to deny the extreme attraction that is developing between the two of them and so she proposes that they try out her six-month rule. Which means they spend the next six months enjoying each other’s company in and out of the bedroom, no strings attached, and once their time is up, they each go their separate ways. It has worked out great for her so far and she honestly believes that this proposition will work out for them as well. She didn’t take into consideration that Will would completely steal her heart. As they spend more time together and deep feelings start to develop, will they be able to change the terms of their agreement?? Or can Holly and Will simply walk away without any regrets and their hearts in tact when the six months are up?

Six Month Rule Teaser 1

This story had me so wrapped up in it, I barely got up from my reading chair all day! It had everything I crave from a good book; angst, an endearing heroine, a hero that’s going on my top ten list, and incredible panty melting steam!!

If you love romances between a British book boyfriend and a delightful American heroine, this one is definitely up your alley. Oh and I promise when you meet the adorable little Sophie, your heart is going to burst!!!

EXCERPT

Holly closed her eyes and started reliving the kiss, not able to shake the feeling of standing on her tiptoes and pressing her pelvis to his. She’d felt him hard against her. She knew he wanted exactly what she did. Okay, well, she couldn’t confirm that he was going through a dry spell, too,

but he wanted her. That much she knew.

Shit.

She stalked to the bathroom and turned on the faucet so that water rushed out in a loud, whirring splash. Then she stripped herself bare and adjusted the temperature before changing the water source from bath nozzle to showerhead. Holly stepped over the lip of the tub and pulled the curtain shut, letting out a resigned sigh.

The water hit her face, her neck, her breasts—nipples still sensitive and hard just from brushing up against him. She imagined Will’s velvety voice asking, May I kiss you? May I touch you? May I…

Holly lifted the showerhead out of its cradle and adjusted the setting to her favorite combination of pulse and vibration. She gave it a pointed look.

“Do you have any secret children you’d like to tell me about before things go any further?”

The showerhead said nothing, but she knew what it was thinking.

I’m it for you, sweetheart. I’ll always be here, and you’ll always come back to me. We’re meant to be.

Well, they were meant to be for this evening, anyway.

She let her head fall against the cool, tiled wall and dropped the hand holding the showerhead between her legs. Eyes closed and shoulders finally relaxing, Holly let her hips pulse to the rhythm of the water, and she let the water do what she needed it to do.

Only, her H2O lover wasn’t doing his job. She shifted her stance, but it still wasn’t right. Maybe it was placement? But no, adjusting placement did nothing to uncoil the tight heat from her core. Then, understanding the risks, she did the unthinkable. Desperate times called for desperate measures. With her thumb resting on the small lever at the base of the head, Holly swiveled it forward just a notch—and changed the setting.

“Shit!” she yelled, throwing the nozzle against the wall. It bounced and sprayed hot needles at her torso, her face, and then the shower curtain. She grabbed it before it nailed her in the face again, not wanting another aggressive facial.

Note to self—

Next time you want to change the showerhead setting, remove said showerhead from between your legs first!

Holly’s much-needed release was going nowhere fast, so she nudged the dial back to where it was—or where she thought it was—and attempted to get back to business. But it was no use. The pulse was too weak, the water streams too thin. She tried again, and then again, prodding the dial just enough to enact the smallest change, but she couldn’t get it back to her original setting.

Her greatest fear had been realized. Her showerhead setting had lost its sweet spot, which meant her sweet spot was to remain unsatisfied.
